Buneos tardes!!

Now this is a sure fire way to get Max into your arms and ready for his siesta!!

Yup, at 1146am our time, we had a small rattle and then a HUGE one (magnitude 5.3). Bex y Max were reading books while laying on the bed and I scooped up Max and the 3 of us stood under the door way. Yes, it was that strong of a shake and no wonder...the epicentre was located only 150 km away.

No damage here and we even had Marcos come up to check on us...and it might have even helped Max fall asleep quicker!!

Click HERE for more info on the quake.

As for the rest of the día? The usual 825pm sleep time and then a fairly tranquilo noche...which turned into a very early morning. 545am...huh?

Now there are several theories as to why Max woke up and would not go back to sleep. #1...tiene hambre. He drank a full bottle of leche at 6am, muy raro now a days. #2...he was hot. We had the a/c off at 130am and did not open the window. I was not hot, but the lil'man runs even hotter then me. #3...I was snoring. Who knows if I was, but Max is getting even better at mimicking the sound I make when I do snore. Doph.

Max finished his leche and then lay on the bed next to me until 645am when the iPad alarma went off, signalling it was video time.

My watch alarma went off at 715am and that signalled the end of any slumber I was getting!!

Usual rutina...desyaunos and tranquilo time in the Palacio and then off for our bici ride.

Best part of the ride? We had just passed Dr Simi and Max came to a stop to wait for his Poppa. He came upon a madre and her 4 niños who were all sitting in a small sliver of shade, keeping cool.

One of the niñas came over to Max and started stroking his arm...for at least 3 minutos. She was enamoured with Max and I could tell she had never seen a niño like him. I asked her madre how old she was and even though she was smaller then Max, she was 5 years old.

Max was great, all I had to do was explain why the niña was doing what she was doing, and he accepted that and allowed her to continue.

We said adios and then pit stopped at Jessics to check on wood camions for Max...we found a few he likes but they were pretty beat up. Doph. I will look elsewhere now that I know the ones he likes.

Off to pick up some verdura for tonight's pico de gallo and then into Poopie Loopie for the pollo. And the last stop before heading home was the arbol de limons so we could grab a few super fresh ones.

Upstairs for leche and a change into swim gear and off to the CP alberca we went. Madre came back from her bici ride and joined us for a familia dip before leaving The Boys to horse around.

Upstairs for leche, libros y el terremoto!!

Max has a bit of a hack, cough, but it only seems to happen before and after siesta and bedtime. He managed to fall asleep and I joined in for some chill room time before Bex took over at 115pm.

I was off to el gimnasio and while I was gone, the familia had their comida, brought Veronica out again, and bici'd their way to playa Santa Cruz.

Post gym I headed home and then jumped into the camioneta verde to meet the familia at the restaurante in Santa Cruz where we will hold Max's fiesta.

The boss lady is a crusty señora, and pretty much ignored us as she chatted on her cell. We lucked out by meeting a señorita who might be the owner's hija...and she speaks ingles!! With Bex's super español, we would have been a-ok, but it is nice when you are working on details and they can understand you.

So? We are set for 2 de noviembre!! We will be set up on the playa and under the palapa...probably 15 niños y 20 adultos.

Burgers and fries for the niños and some snacks for the adultos...as well as aguas, colas and hola hola to some chelas tambien!!

Penguinos for dessert, a bouncy castle for niños fun and yes, we have the minion piñata to close up the fiesta!! It is going to be the social event of the month for all of Huatulco!!

I left the familia for some playa time and I headed home for a little clean up, an ensalada, some tranquilo time and now some blog updating time.

We have Bubba quesadillas tonight and then post bed time....hola hola to the PVR'd race!!

All caught up...onto the fotos.

Homey Boy Max Van.

We are headed to the water slides mañana and I asked Max if he was excited. Here is his answer.

And due to the super speed on the Canon, check out the mid air changes of expressions on Max's face.

Safe to say he is excited.

So excited that he could not calm down long enough for me to get him casco'd up...so he had a calm down time out.

Here he tells me he is calm and ready to get his casco on.

Today I decided to join Max on his bici ride, and took out my triciculo.

Naaaaah. This hombre is always parked near a taxi stand and after Max went over and choqued all the taxistas, he went over to watch the hombre at work on his cocos.

We were wheeling away when the hombre called us back and told me he wanted to give Max a coco. He dug around for a small one and chopped off the top and bottom, it was ready to take home and with a little work...coco agua time!!

I offered to pay the hombre $20 pesos, and I am sure he could have used the cash, but he was very adamant that this was a regalo, a gift. Both of us thanked him...so happy to hear Max say "gracias"...and then we continued on our tour, with Poppa carrying the coco in his mochilla.

As for the coco, we had some post alberca time but Max did not like it. Hecho en Mexico, but he is definitely not un Mexicano!!

Está comenzando a parecer mucho como la Navidad. As seen outside Jessic Importaciones.

Payday? The driver of the moto has placas that are invalid and has no casco...and I am sure his wallet is now lighter because of it.

Outside a lavenderia, a resourceful way to use empty liquid detergent bottles.

Having found a water main leak, the trabajadores from Fonatur kick off their boots and start the process of finding the leak. Now that is how they do things here in Huatulco!!

Ok...off to cook up some oh so yummy quesadillas. Back at you post tina time.

Hasta pronto.

Buenos noches and I have some sad news. Due to a very long US college football game, I have missed the Nascar pre-race show as well as the first 30 minutos of the race. But...I am told that Baylor came back from 24 points down in 10 minutos and won the game as well. We move on.

We had a great dinner...a huge plateful for the lil'man!! We tried a FT con Oma y Opa but they were on a walk and the signal was not very good. Mañana.

Clean up and then off for a post cena bici tour, home for tina time, leche y libros and bed time has just started. Wish us luck!!

I will watch most of the race tonight and then the rest will be squeezed in with the water slides and NFL domingo!!

Have a great Sunday y hasta mañana.

Marco, Bexico y Max
