Buenos noches!! Let's start with a Max 2-pack!!
Hola hola!! It is already 830pm and after a full día, the lil'man treated us with a quick bed time...phew y muchos gracias mi hijo!!
Tons of fotos to follow, so I am going to keep the verbiage brief.
A good noche and after a cuna pit stop at 330am (due to sweating), we were asleep again at 4am and woke up at 7am. Yahoo!!!
Usual morning rutinas and after desayunos we headed out on a prowl. No bici today as we had some stops to make and the firs pit stop was to look at some more wood trucks for Max's birthday gift.
We were in the tourists mercado and I think we have found the one...a logging truck with some real logs in the back. I will head back mañana and ensure I get the locals price!!
And after that we headed to the papeleria to look for some blank cards that we could use for the invitations to the fiesta. No go, but we bought some nice paper and used their cutter to cut it to size and once home, we folded the papel and ta-da!!
Now we just need to get the fotos and directions printed...and we have a small delay on that. ¿Por que? Because after spending some time at the water slides, we are thinking that maybe, just maybe, it would be better to hold the fiesta there.
The water slides would be more fun for Max, but it is out of the way and it would be less "hosting" and more a free for all as parents take care of their niños. Stay tuned as we will make the decision hoy o mañana.
Post papeleria we headed home and were happy to see madre waited for us...hola hola to a familia swim!!
It was not a long swim as we had run late and we also needed to get a siesta in before we headed off to the water slides.
Upstairs for leche y libros and happy to report that the siesta came quickly today...phew!!
And the moment Max woke up, the first words out of his boca were "we go to the water slide now?". Yes Max, we are going right now. Yahoo!!
We changed into our swim gear, loaded up the camioneta verde and off we went. It is only a 15 minuto drive and Max was listo the moment the truck was parked!!
He wanted to go go go and by the time I came back from re-parking the truck, he and madre were going up the middle sized slide. Yahoo!!
Happy to report that on our 4th visit, Max has lost his inhibitions and can now go down that slide by himself!! We still walk up the stairs with him, but he can go down by himself. Same goes for the small slides we call the practice slides.
Some sliding, cannon balls, play time on some equipment and then it was time to head home.
Leche and it was time to take Max to see the doctor at Simi. ¿Por que? He has tos, a cough, and has had it for 3 days now. It started out that he had some coughing during bed time and siesta time, but today it is the worst yet and he is coughing regularly...that and he has a red throat now. Argh.
I did some clean up while the familia was gone and they returned but had not been able to see the doctor. Long line ups of sick peeps and at the other Simi, the doctor was away for 30 minutos or so.
So we will have la cena and go out after dinner...and that is what we did. Max was low energy during dinner so we are making the correct call to go back to the doctor.
A good dinner and even though it took quite some time, Max ate a good portion.
A long wait at the doctor, but Max was full o'energy for the 30 minutos we waited. The patient shows no symptoms when we are out of the casa!! Ja ja ja
But the doctor says he has an infection and I am betting it is from Max allowing pool and ocean water into his boca. Oh Max!!
We hit up 2 farmacias but neither had the meds. Doph. Home to drop off Max so he can have tina time, and I headed out to 2 more farmacias and struck out at both.
We normally do not buy our meds at Dr Simi, as we have been told that they are not always as good as the original meds, Dr Simi sells generic meds.
But after 4 stops, I was headed back and was going to ask the doctor if there was another med we could buy. But...he was in the Simi farmacia and in front of the doctor and the 3 people working there, I did not want to say we do not buy Simi meds. Doph. And of course they did have what we were looking for, so I bought it and brought it home.
We talked about it and we know the meds won't hurt Max, we are just not 100% sure they are as good as the brand name meds. But....Mexicanos swear by Dr Simi, so we will give it a shot...stay tuned.
I came home at the end of leche y libros, gave Max his meds, grabbed a shower and then took over bed time duty and was thrilled with the 25 minuto bed time.
And that mis amigos, was our día!!
Onto the plethora of fotos!!
A ton of landing poses because each one is unique.
We are practicing "thumbs up"...he will get it sooner or later!!
Sexy belly has popped a button on some shorts that fit him no problem a month or 2 ago!!
Madre...beware the tongue!!
Max knew we were going for a prowl vs a bici tour, but as we got down the stairs he sat down and said his legs hurt too much to walk.
But if your legs are too sore to walk, we cannot take the bici, AND we cannot go t the water slides. Ta-da...he was feeling all better.
Max pointing out the slides he will be going down with his madre.
Keeping the sun out of the van by having both a screen in the front window, and a used meat box over the sun roof. Ingenious!!
Max is headed to the mechanical carro in front of Oxxo. Here is his "doph dee doh" strut with not a care in the mundo.
The carro.
Gorra on and we are off to climb the steep rampa that leads to the iglesia.
Doph...overflow.
At la otra puerta tambien!! It must be a good service today, or...maybe it was because today is Día de la Raza??
Max spent 5 minutos chasing Polly's tail as she moved it back and forth.
Some brunch musica out front of Los Portales.
Ok...onto the water slides!!
At first Max needed some assistance from his madre...the one in the Jackie O lentes del sol.
But after a few times with Bex, I put the camera away and headed up with the lil'man who told me he was ready to go down alone.
And did he...a dozen or so times alternating going up with his madre y Poppa.
And then it was time for the grande slide.
First came a chat at the top of the blue slide.
Then they moved over to the opposite side and started to get ready for the yellow slide.
And then somehow ended back on the blue slide!!
These next fotos are not as clear as I would have liked them to be. I need to work on getting the camera to focus more on the subject when the camera is in action (high speed) mode.
Any who...the lil'man doing one of many cannon balls.
Ok...time for some futbol and then off to hit the sack and call it a day. The Seahawks lost today...they did not look so good vs Dallas. Doph. But...the Canucks won again!!
Have a great lunes y feliz Día de Thanksgiving to our Canadian readers!! Mmmmmm...I could use a good turkey dinner!!
Hasta mañana.
Marco, Bexico y Max
