Reaching back into our past again!!
Buenos tardes!!
And after one day of relief from the lluvia, it returned with a vengeance today. Bex shut the drapes at 130am and it essentially rained non-stop, and sometimes torrential, until now, 345pm.
Yup...lots of rain!!
Good news is that the familia is out for a prowl around town, and it is waaaaay easier without the rain.
Due to the rain, it was a stay in the house morning until cabin fever got the most of Max and his Poppa!! Prior to that it had been a regular rutina kinda day.
Awake at 620am, videos (only after leche was finished...new procedure), tranquilo time alone and then The Boys had some fruta while in the Palacio and then moved into the cocina for the messy food.
Post desayunos it was back to the Palacio and we had some play time and "clean the toy bins" time and then Max was going bonkers.
Pouring rain...but we had to get out of the casa.
Off to the camioneta verde and Poppa had a place in mind, but first we had to navigate some deep water pooled on the calles!! Yikes...I had to stop 3-4 times as we could not see at all through the windshield.
Off to La Bocana, the river mouth of the Rio Copalita. And with the storm we were having, the olas were grande...huge...and the water was mud brown due to all the agua coming down from the montañas.
Max had his Crocs on and a capa over his shorts y playera, and carried a lil'guy umbrella. Tough to get to the playa as there has been some water damage to the stairs over the past year, and the water pouring in off the calle was blocking the other set of escaleras.
But we got to a ledge, I jumped over and then hoisted the lil'man down and off we went.
Blowing wind into our faces, but with Max's umbrella and mine over the two of us, we stayed fairly dry. A good hoof through some sand and rocks and then after about 15 minutos, it was time to turn back.
Max loved what we were doing, and wanted to climb bigger rocks, continue looking for pine combs and splash in the streams of water coming out of the cliffs behind us. But...I was worried about him getting cold...and Poppa was getting cold!!
But as we headed back, Max became mesmerized by the huge brown waves splashing onto shore and asked if he could stand and watch them "for 2 more minutes"...as he holds up 4 fingers and his thumb.
Of course we can!! I mentioned chair would have been nice right about then, but instead, Poppa sat his butt down on some wet rocks and the lil'man, wearing his blue rain jacket y shorts, sat on my lap.
Two umbrellas above us, keeping one of us dry at least, The Boys sat there for 15 minutes until Max had his fill and was ready to go.
That mis amigos, was the best part of mi día!!
Home for a warm tina, lovingly prepared by his madre before his return, and then some leche and off for a siesta...a too short siesta.
Not sure why Max only wanted 45 minutos, but awake at 1pm might bode well for esta noche!! Anoche...it was a full hour with his Poppa....yikes.
A little book reading with Poppa and then I hit the sack...lights out. Not sure why as I had been feeling better, but was all of a sudden overcome by a set of very heavy ojos. Oh well.
And while I had my hour plus sleep...Bex y Max made some banana muffins. The tops of them turned out great. The rest? Picture Max looking into the basura after asking for more muffin and then his asking his madre "why in the garbage?"...3 times.
Out came the Play Doh and then off for their prowl, due back at 530pm para la cena.
I woke up to the great smell of yummy muffin tops, ate a few of those and then sat with the familia before they headed out.
Some comida for me and then tranquilo time and ta-da...that has been the day so far.
Due to the lluvia, the camera stayed inside today. Hoping for el sol and mas fotos mañana!!
Oh...the September weather stats? We had 16 days with rain...and we felt each one of them!! And the humido was around for 25 of the 31 days....yikes. We had average lows of 26,4 grados and highs of 31,0.
That compares to 25,9 and 30,2 from last year, so yes it was a warmer month then last year.
But with 15 days of rain last year, we were pretty much bang on this year.
What can we expect in octubre? Last year we had 9 days with rain (already had one this October) and average lows of 27,0 and highs of 32,0. It will get warmer, but with less humido which is just the way we like it!!

Buenos noches!! Due to more lluvia and one pooped out niño, there was no post cena prowl o bici ride, and instead there has been an extension of leche y libro time. Currently 705pm and the familia will head into Max's room at 730pm and I will go in and close the show at 745pm.
Hoping the lil'man really is tired and falls asleep waaaaay quicker then the hour it took us last night!!
The familia had one super long afternoon prowl today!! If I remember it correctly, they walked to an estancia infantil, daycare, to check it out (more on that mañana after Bex and I chat it up esta noche), then off to the campo and finally to the mall. That is one long prowl!!
Home for some leche and then right into Bubba Burrito miercoles!! Max ate lots, we had some video time and then onto dessert, some tranquilo time with madre while Poppa cleaned the piso, and then Max headed into tina time.
Washing Max's hair can sometimes be a challenge, so Poppa stepped up and today I was in charge of getting out the knots!!
Madre came in for the rinse and I finished up casa clean up as she finished up Max clean up.
And that was the day.
Hoping for el sol to return...check back mañana!!
