Buenos noches…640pm, the
6pm news has been watched (part of it) and while I type, Bexico is in the
oficina and I have One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest playing on the TV.
Great flick eh?
Here was the weather we
experienced today.
So, the Mojon plan was
changed and we rearranged our day. No issue…lots to do and all with Max!!
Bexico was up early and
took the lil’hombre for a walk…all before I awoke!!
Upon the return of the
familia, my turn for Max time and madre hit the pool for some laps. And while
the cat’s away…tummy time for Max!! Look at these expressions!!
Pooped...and no, not in his panales!!!
And here is Max and madre
hanging out before I head to el gimnasio.
Great work out and had a
ton of laughs with Hector and his esposa Sally. Hector is poco loco…but a funny
guy.
After the gym I headed
home, as our Mojon plans had not yet been cancelled.
Here are the fotos from
the walk.
At our gate. Marcelino dreaming about some Leon cerveza?
Side street shows Bugambilia is closed.
They are laying a layer of gravel and tar on top of the newly paved road. Make it last longer?
Got a smile from this hombre (man) as he passed me.
A little renovation at El Foxy's?
The regular hombre de coco frio takes the day off and just like that, another hombre shows up. Prime real estate I guess.
They are still closed for inventory, but today they received a large shipment. Maybe they are about to reopen?
With a tire like this, you need to use the spare.
Or not.
So, the short guy mixes the mud and puts it into a bucket and carries it up to the second hombre. That guy takes a trowel and throws the mud on the wall and then uses the 2x4 to smooth it all out.
Off to the garrafon graveyard.
So instead of Mojon, hello
comida at West Park Café!! Great sandwiches there, even if they always forget
to leave the avocado off my sandwich!!
Fotos from the walk to the
café.
Triste. Sad. A lonely hombre de globos...balloons.
At last, Bongo's has come to town!! We have NO brand name fast food/pizza joints here.
Some electrical part...in oil.
A word I have never seen before...roperia. It has no direct translation, but has something to do with clothing. The room is at the top of a hotel, maybe it is the laundry or uniforms for staff?
And here are the lunch
fotos.
Max looked at the menu and chose the Cobb sandwich.
Bexico y Max sharing a laugh with the owner, Max.
Las orejas grandes...like his padre!!
What a cutie and soooo well behaved when we go out!!
It was nap time, so back in the sling and with a little bouncing...lights out.
Ohhhh he is sneaky. Max with his ojos closed and mine open.
Max with his ojos open and mine closed!! Oh Max.
After lunch, Max was in slumber
mode, so we had a short walk around centro and headed home. I was going to go to Che, but traffic up Carrizal was a mess and someone needed a nap!!
So Bex hit the sack (ja ja
ja) and Max and I hung out. We managed a quick FT with mis padres, only to be
interrupted by nature’s call. He sure looked relieved after that…lol. Quick pit
stop and we dialed up mis padres again and they continued their chat until he
decided enough was enough and wanted his nap!!
He needs the swaddle and
this time was no different. Bounced him and he closed his eyes and into his
cuna he went. That lasted 10 minutes and back out he came for round #2. Which
lasted 10 more minutes. The lil’hombre hates to sleep!!
So round #3 went to
padre…I let him sleep on my chest. Win-win if you ask me!!
No Che run…Bex took Max
out again and picked up a pollo roti for her cena. Me? Polish sausage con
papas…a truly Mexican meal!! Lol
Started the 6pm routine at
545pm as Max was antsy. He loves his bath and just as I was about to start
Max’s 1-10 number cards, Roman popped by.
Madre finished the cards
and took Max in for his dinner and to get him to sleep, and I chatted up Roman.
First off was the $7000
peso deposit for the FZ work. This should start on lunes and we will have all
the paperwork y results in a week.
We also talked about many
other items. First up was about next steps. After we get the FZ info, we will
decide on size of the project.
And then before we can get
going on any of the studies etc, we will need actual architectural plans. Good
news…Roman says we should be able to get architectural, engineer, electrical y
plumbing plans all for $6k US mas o menos. This is a good cost compare to what
I have heard before.
More good news? Roman and
I talked about ways for us to reduce costs…incentivizing him to find ways to
get products for the build at a reduced price.
For example...we are quoted $20,000 pesos for a
palapa and he can find it for $15,000 pesos, we will split the savings. The
trick is to make sure the original price we are quoted is fair so that we don’t
“magically” find savings and just give away $$.
More news? I did not know
the cost of a/c…the 1 ton units are around $7000 pesos. Much cheaper then I
thought they would be!! Good news there.
What else? We reviewed
some fotos I had taken from around town and Roman liked what he saw. Talked up
security and some ways to keep the casas secure without needing ugly bars on
the windows…we have some ideas and fotos of some sliding (accordion?) bars that
are hung from the inside and would be hidden by drapes when they are not
closed.
All good stuff!! Also got
a lead on a company that offers satellite internet. A must so Bexico can
continue with her work, and because our clients that rent the casa will want
it.
2012 is the year mis
amigos!!! Stay tuned!!!
Back to the day…we ate la
cena, Bexico had a Skype with an amiga and now it is date night. We have a DVD
playing…and we are staying awake past 11pm!! Ja ja ja
Mañana? Hoping for el sol
as that means Mojon!!
Buen fin de semana.
Marco, Bexico y Max
