Hola mis amigos.
8pm and while watching
Global BC, time to start the blog.
Max is asleep and la cena
is finito…a good end to the day.
The day? A great day as I
awoke feeling much better and by the end of the day, I am feeling almost
completely better. Phew.
And what time did the day
start? For Bexico…she was up every 2 hours as Max was a hambre hombre!! Growth
spurt?
So at 645am when Max
decided he had been asleep long enough, I rolled out of bed.
Max and I hung out for a
while…here he is hanging out.
The lil'hombre drools up a storm...we are fairly certain that we will see some teeth soon. Oh Bex is looking forward to that!! ja ja ja
And then we strapped up
and took a stroll around centro y the zocalo.
Here are the fotos taken on the walk between our condo y el zocalo.
The pool does get cleaned...needed a few more chemicals by the time I got to it. Sucio.
Neighboring provinces. Check the placas.
Reno work is continuing at the restaurante.
Next to the carneceria, was a pescaderia, fish store. Five guys hanging around and as I stopped to take a foto of something, they commented on Max's gafas. I chatted them up and left them howling when I told them mi nombre es Super Man...Super Mandilón!!
Joven, maybe 15 años, lugging the naranja.
Saw lots of peeps smiling
at us and as we came upon the zocalo, we saw a school event.
As per the sign in the background, it is a Feria Cientifica.
Some of the exhibits
On the table is a mapa of Mexico, showing where all the volcanoes exist.
And it would not be a school event in Mexico without Coca Cola!!
The exhibits were not manned while we were there, but later in the afternoon it looked like the school kids were giving demonstrations to peeps.
What was interesting was the salute during the playing of the Mexican national anthem.
Came home about an hour
later and I was drenched. It isn’t hot at that hour, but with an extra 16
pounds strapped to my chest…phew!! But wouldn’t change a thing about it!!
It was now around 9am and
Bex was still sleepy…so Max took his nap on my chest!! I cat napped and at 10am
he awoke…time to eat again!!
Bex took over and I headed
to el gimnasio. Quiet in there and after not working out ayer, felt good to get
back at it.
Fotos from the walk.
Oh oh...someone is in trouble
I liked all the colorful bebidas this senorita sells
I used to think this was an abuelo y nieta...but now I am thinking it is just un padre anciano...like me!! ja ja ja
Champiñón anyone?
Heart attack in a bag...chicharrón. No worse then a big plate of tocino (bacon) o poutine!!
Spot the differences in the 2 fotos. There is one glaring difference!!
Click HERE to learn more about chicharrón. Warning...not for everyone!!
Hey Bob...seen that gato?
And if someone steals your gas cap....
Some Fonatur hombres having their comida...lunch. They all work together, break together and share their food together.
IKEA on wheels...LACK anyone?
After el gimnasio, I headed back through centro and said hola to the gang at Gabriels. Long chat with Daniel, he loves to learn the correct pronunciation of words in ingles and I love to try and understand more about the language and culturo.
Headed home and found Max
had already been to the pool. I missed out…but it is good that Bex took him
down as he needed some change in environment and the swim helped him get ready
for nap #2.
I grabbed some sol time
and then it was perfect time to take Max out again. I needed some bollos (buns)
para la cena and we also had our electric bill, so I thought I would pay that.
Good news on the CFE
bill…only $800 pesos for 6 weeks usage, which will work out to around $46
Cdn/mes. The new secadora is gas fired, so that saves us some $$ and we haven’t
needed the a/c yet. Año pasado we found ourselves using a/c come abril and then
the CFE bill doubles!!
As for paying the bill…the
kiosk at the zocalo is gone…so I will pay it mañana when I head to el gimnasio.
Another hola to the gang
at Gabriels, this time it was the joven…Samuel, Moises y hermano de Daniel.
They all seem to truly enjoy saying hola to Max, looking at how big and strong
he is…and admiring how he attracts the senoritas. Oh Max!! ja ja ja
End of day for another group of Fonatur workers.
After Gabriels, I grabbed the bollo ($2 pesos each) and
headed home. Max was tired and ready for a cat nap. We find that a 430pm nap
(today was 5pm) makes him that much more relaxed and primed for bath time and
today was no different.
But he did not want to
sleep in his cuna, so I grabbed the lil’swaddled hombre, bounced him for a few
minutes, and let him sleep on my chest…again. Best part of my day mis amigos!!
Did the 6pm routine and
you are all caught up.
Not sure what to say about
the news article about the BC driving test for peeps over 80…not that mi padre
has to worry about that for the next 11 días. Doph.
Mañana? Unless something
changes…hola to Mojon!! Also gave Roman the go ahead to spend $13,000 pesos to
get the initial part of the FZ completed. Stay tuned.
Misc …
Bexico finished 2 projects
and is still working on one for her NY based client. Today she was given a 4 hour
project by her repeat client, this one based in Australia.
Oh yeah…went to Issssssste
and found a score…marmalada de naranja!! I was getting tired of strawberry
jam!!
But? No Rice Crispies to
be found in Huatulco…thus no RC squares proximo domingo!! Maybe we will find
them next week in Pochutla o Puerto.
Last foto of the day.
Best foto of the day!!
Last but not least, from USA Today.com, here is a clip from an article about the US State Department travel warnings on Mexico.
However, no advisories are in effect for such popular tourist areas as the state of Quintana Roo (Cancun, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya and Tulum), southern Baja California (Cabo San Lucas), Guanajuato (San Miguel de Allende and Leon), Oaxaca (Oaxaca, Huatluco and Puerto Escondido) and Chiapas (San Cristobal de las Casas), as well as Mexico City, Puerto Vallarta and nearby Riviera Nayarit.
Note there is NO warning for the estado of Oaxaca, which includes Huatulco!!

Have a great viernes.
Marco, Bex y Max
