Buenos noches.

So here are some definite myths, that before I became a padre, I had been told were facts.

There is no way changing your own niño’s panale is better then some other kids.

Terrible 2’s? They start at 18 months!!

Ok, maybe these are not the 2’s yet…but Max has been a handful the past few days!! I guess he is making up for lost time, all the time he was such an easy go lucky niño?

We think it is a combination, kinda like the Perfect Storm. An infection in his ears and throat, taking oh so yummy meds for those ailments, another tooth coming in, AND separation anxiety, which is supposed t peak at 18 months…5 de mayo for us!!

Click HERE if you feel like a light read on separation anxiety.

So, quite a handful. All we can do is try to help the lil’man out by giving him his meds, some Kanka o Tylenol for the diente and carry him a whole lot more then we have been used to.

As for taking the meds…he is now a trooper!! He winces before they get close to his boca, but he now opens his mouth and allows us to squirt the gotas into his mouth. No more spoon, we bought a syringe and removed the needle…easy peasy!!

Our día? It is hot. How hot? So hot that at 4pm I was sitting at the deserted alberca, getting some sol, when a rat jumped into the pool and started doing laps.

You think I jest? Ah no. I managed to keep the el raton from exiting the pool and ran and got Marcos, one of the trabajadores to come assist.

Hola to the pool skimmer, followed by hola to the sole of his flip flop. Yikes.

Even though I know there are chemicals in the pool that are checked daily, I am NOT swimming for a few days.

Can you imagine a late night swim and bumping into one of those critters. Ooops…sorry Bex!! Hee hee hee

Of course, at the pool, I also once saw a snake fall out of the tree I was sitting under. Ahhhh Mexico.

Back to the day…early wake up for the boys, but a pretty good sleep, so we were up and at’em. Not a bad desayunos and off to Che.

Max LOVES to push the cart and THROW items into it. Senor Suave is still working on that skill.

Good siesta at home and then I hit el gimnasio and the familia spent the afternoon together. Bex went through the whole book of tricks and managed to keep Max level headed during their time together.

After the swimming rat, I took the lil’man out for a prowl and then we had some good eats para la cena.

Facetime con Oma y Opa, tina time and the lil’guy was lights out before the Whisperer even had to come into the room. Score!!

Currently 930pm and all is tranquilo. Just had a FT con mi amigo, Kent “I split facecards”  Melon…always good to catch up.

Fotos!!

From ayer...just prowl'in around.

And from today...the new gorra is a gift from Memo, a Canadian neighbor.

I miss our happy y full o'energia lil'man.

Look at the size of that taxi...full of niños. Doph.

This senora mixes up some pails of a homemade beverage and then walks around town selling it. Tough gig.

Another month and this canal will be full o'agua due to all the lluvia.

Misc

And all of a sudden…I am the proud owner of a new Amex card!! Not sure what all the fuss was about, but after 3 attempts at calling Amex, they never got back to me and today a courier arrived with my new card. Ta-da.

Santa Cruz Abarrotes scores? Hello to more cheddar!! Vida es buena!!

Mañana? If Max is up for it, we will get his inmigracion fotos taken. Stay tuned. As well...mañana is Día del Niño!! Maybe a paleta para Max!!

Have a great martes!!

Marco, Bexico y Max
