Doph...I forgot to wish Oma a Feliz Cumpleaños before heading out. I will FT her esta noche!!

Buenos tardes and welcome to a very windy and overcast día here in Huatulco. We had a windy noche and even some more lluvia and today has felt like the coolest day we have had in 9 months!! How cool?

Only, yes only, feels like 32,0!! 78% humido but with the 22 km/h viento, you can hardly feel it. Hoping for some sol and waaaaay less viento para mañana, so we can load up and head to playa Mojon. Stay tuned.

A super quiet day here...Che was deserted and many tiendas were closed or were closing early. Hola hola to Día de Independencia!! We heard the parada at 8am, but Max and I were busy eating desayunos and all we saw during our prowl was muchos niños in their school gear. Parade done and they were done for the day.

The rest of our día?

Another 825pm bed time for the lil'man. And with a post 130pm siesta wake up, I did not think that would happen....score!!

10pm wake up...he had already completed his own pee break. Oh Max. New panale and he slept soundly until 4am when he was restless for almost an hour. Ouch.

But manos seemed to keep him asleep and I awoke to Max doing a lil'dance in his cuna, trying to avoid the pee overflow from his panale.

Change of gear and cuna sheet and Max was off to leche y videos. Someone let his Poppa sleep in an extra 10 minutos and then we were off to tranquilo time and then the huge desayunos.

Due to last night's lluvia there would be no bici ride...sidewalks and calles were too wet. So we geared up for a prowl, something we have not done in a long time because Max just loves to be out on his bici.

Good prowl and then after pit stops at HSBC, Poopie Loopie and SCA for huevos, we headed home to drop off our good and then we were onto the next stage of our morning...recycling and Che.

Good score on some cheddar but not much else even though we did get everything on our list. I shocked a señora who saw Max and I and came over to pat Max on his head. She was with her 2 niñas and they all stared at us for a millisecond as I asked her not to touch Max an explained why.

She recovered very fast and seemed to understand, but I think they think we are nuts and don't all believe that he gets patted on his head 50 times cada día before we added the sign to his casco.

And one aisle away, a muy amable hombre comes up to us and asks if Max is the niño that has the no tocarme sign on his casco. Of course he asks. Sí is my reply and the hombre says he saw Max whipping through SCA on his bici last week.

We headed to pick out some tear free shampoo and as I have my back turned, looking at otra productos, Max has opened the lid and after smelling it, has poured some on his manos and the floor.

After a "what are you doing?" and the Poppa "look", Max said he was sorry a few times and we cleaned it up and hugged it out. A few minutos later as we walked by the scene of the crime, Max tells me he is "sorry for pouring the shampoo out" and uses the same phrase when we are met by Bex upon arriving home from Che.

Oh, he is a smart niño, understanding what he is about to do or has done.

Finished our shopping and headed home for leche y libros y siesta.

Usual siesta rutina and even though I wasn't sure Bex would be able to get him asleep in 10 minutos, she worked her magic.

A good siesta and Bex changed places with me so I could head to el gimnasio. After waking Max up by accident...doph...I was out the door and the familia had their comida and I think they are currently at a playa with madre's bici.

A cool work out and then I came home for casa clean up, some tranquilo time and the bog update.

All caught up at 405pm...onto the fotos.

Max calls these "Hugo's shorts" because he wore them to Hugo's birthday party 6 months ago. I inserted so many of these very similar fotos because I am intrigued by all the different expressions Max has.

His attempt at smiling for the camera.

One muy tonto niño!!

Hey...we are taking fotos over here. Keep it down!!

More facial expressions.

He ducked in this door way and pointed a few meters away and said "Poppa, you go there" so he could hide from me.

No, he has not fallen but rather this is the yoga position, Downward Max, that he has chosen to look at a gato that is underneath a carro.

Poppa...it is right there.

We spent around an hour on the prowl, but the distance was greatly reduced because Max was intent on looking at all the llantas and looking for flat tires.

One of our usual rainy'ish day prowl activities is to head to Casa Pepe and Max really wanted to go. We arrived, Max looked at the gates and said "Poppa, Casa Pepe is closed".

He then went and knocked on the gate.

Hello...Max is here...please open up.

More llantas.

Max really wanted to carry the bolsa with molida res in it, so I let him.

And then I see he is no longer just carrying it.

And finally looks in the bag to see what he has accomplished.

And that would be squishing the ground beef and ripping the plastic wrap so there is no ground beef on the plastic bag itself. Oh Max.

No more Poopie Loopie bag for Max...onto the huevos.

We passed madre as she was on her way out for her bici ride. We were pit stopping to drop off the huevos y molida res and Max knows to wait on the green square. Today he has scored madre's lentes de sol.

Try explaining this next foto y product to a Mexicano.

Wait to go Gloria Melanson...of course she is from London Ontario. Did anyone try the Crown Royal flavoured Lays?

Oh, with excitement like THIS, we are so excited to be coming back to Canada!!

Time for some Bubba tranquilo time and then into the cocina to cook la cena. Back at you post tina time.

Hasta pronto.

Wow...the lil'man has been WIRED since coming home from the playa. He was somewhat calm during the FT con Oma y Opa as well as dinner, but a mini-tornado during a run to the veggie store con su madre and then during the post cena bici ride and during tina time.

Phew...he has tired out his padres today. Currently leche y libros time and I am hoping he will be pooped out by the time The Niño Whisperer arrives to close the show.

Misc

Estancia infantil update? Bex and I are 100% on the same page and think that if Max could join his amigos at this Discovery place when they are playing in the big yard with plastic houses etc, or on their ball room, or in their play grocery store, that would be ideal for him.

If he likes it and can remain calm, we would consider him going for the longer periods and letting the maestras try their magic at getting him to sit still at a table and do some painting etc.

So...we have emailed the peeps and will see what we say. We don't think they will go for it, but it is money in their pocket and it does not hurt to ask.

When we were talking to the head honcha, we were a little turned off when we asked if she spoke ingles (in case Max needs help understanding something) and her answer was "I understand ingles, I have no desire to speak it".

Yikes. Any who...stayed tuned.

Ok, that has been our día. Mañana, if the weather cooperates, we are off to playa Mojon.

Hasta mañana.

Marco, Bexico y Max
