Headed out for the AM bici tour and Max has spotted Marciano's carretilla!!

Buenos tardes!!

Last night I had PVR'd the race and after two out of four hours, the rain started pouring down outside. The PVR box did not show we lost signal...but we did, so at 10pm I had to scramble to reacquire the signal, found it on another canal, and having missed almost 2 hours of the race, I found that there were 30 laps left. Phew!!

I recorded that and the next show and good thing I did as the race ran 15 minutos into the 2nd show!!

Currently 105pm and I am watching the last 3 laps of the race, a green, white and then checkered bandera situation!! Doph...another yellow flag...another attempt at a verde, blanco y checkered flag finish!!

Felicidades Kasey Khane!!

Ok...I am off to el gimnasio and will get back at this update post workout.

Hasta pronto!!

Buenos tardes!! What a morning of fun adventuras for The Boys!!

After a quick bed time...can you say 20 minutos...we had a pee break and then a solid noche of sleep and a 640am wake up...and I have no doubt that later wake up was due to the earlier pee break and the dry cuna!! Yahoo!!

So onto the morning...videos, tranquilo time, big desayunos and then off for a super long (2 hours) bici ride. That 2 hours includes some mandatory agua pit stops and of course a few stops as Max does his exploring.

A mixed día...el sol y nubes, but it was "stinking hot" and we stayed in the sombra as much as possible.

The adventuras? First stop was the arbol de limon so we could grab some fresh limes for tonight's fajitas and then it was off to the tienda de fruta y verdura for the rest of the goods.

And next up was the taller de llantas where mi amigo Bulmaro works. Why are we headed there? During desayunos Max was playing with a toy and he told me that it had a flat tire. I asked him if he wanted to go see Bulmaro and get it fixed, and he said no.

But I threw it in mi mochila and when we stopped, I told Bulmaro the story and he went and retrieved a chico fitting for his air hose and then he pretended to fill the llantas on Max's toy. Max loved this, broke a smile and even choque'd Bulmaro when we left!!

Even further away...Tony's taller. He is mi mecanico amigo and we were on a tour, so off we went. He was not there but Max entertained all the peeps...Tony's padre, some taxistas and the usual gang that seems to be hanging around there. No choques for them...but as we were headed down the hill, up came Tony and Max choque'd him when he saw Tony and when we left 5 minutos later.

Max made note..."I am stinking hot" and we had some agua and I knew of an Oxxo on the way back into centro, so we pit stopped, took off the casco, grabbed a galleta para Max y una Coca Light for Poppa and we chilled in the a/c of Oxxo!!

We continued and as we were almost at Poopie Loopie, Max asked for leche...he was hot and tired!! I told him we were close and since he loves standing on the chair at Poopie Loopie and watching the butchers, we would be a-ok until we got home.

And that we did...phew what a tour!!

I headed to the roof to check in on the repairs that the trabajadores were completing, and Max y madre headed off for leche y libros.

The roof work is extensive and they are applying a membrane and then coating it...buen suerte!!

I came down to prep the pollo and verdura for the fajitas and Max headed off for a siesta. It was not a long one...30 minutos...and he was one "crusty" niño when he woke up. Yikes.

I left him with the iPad and when Bex went in...she too wondered who the niño in Max's bedroom was.

She convinced him to go for a walk and discovered what the issue was...max tiene hambre, he was hungry!! On the prowl he ate a muffin and then for lunch he ate a taco and a few other things too.

Soooo...note to selves...when Max is replaced by Crusty Niño...feed him!!

While they had their comida, I was off to el gimnasio and came home to find them in the CP alberca. I headed upstairs for more follow up on the roof repairs and then into the casa for clean up and some tranquilo time.

And ta-da..at 445pm here we are. Max y Bex are out for another prowl and then are off to see the doctora about Max's rash or marks on his arms. The medicina we were "prescribed" has had a little effect, but not much. So better safe then sorry.

Their cita, appointment, is at 5pm so they should be in to see Doctor Vicky by 515-530pm (she has been on time 2 out of 10 plus times) and then will come home for the fajitas. Stay tuned on her prognosis.

About to start cooking the pollo...so onto the fotos!!

Poppa...more fotos?

Ok...maybe he is not smiling because the bandana is hanging sooooo low. Note the new and improved "No Tocarme" sign!!

But a little crotch grab seems to have put the sonrisa on his face!!

We spotted this camion on our tour.

And see that they sell chicozapotes...small zapotes. Not too be confused with chico zapatos...small shoes.

We pulled up on the bici and Max played with a señora's perroito and I chatted up the hombre about his fruta. Very sweet and as the grower, he likes to eat the skin and likes them when they are muy suave...almost gooey. He gave me a slice and it was dulce, sweet, but waaaaay too gooey for me!!

Meanwhile a crowd has gathered...to look at Max first and then buy chicozapotes next. We bought one for madre and it was not cheap...$10 pesos. I asked if this was the gringo price...because we are NOT gringos!! He laughed and the other customers said I was being charged the same as them.

High on life.

On the way to Tony's, we came across this parque that had 6 vagabundos in it....here are 4.

And then 2 mas under this camioneta.

An hombre came out as we walked by the truck and said hola and then in English asked me why I took a foto of his truck...not the first time someone has asked me that. Hmmmm? Any who...I showed him I had taken a foto of the perros and he laughed.

We saw this travelling salesman...Señor Serio.

Until I told him I was taking a foto for his madre and then the smile came out!!

I do not think it is in the Oaxacan education system to teach people to not litter or drop their basura in other people's yards.

This is the newly cemented calle leading up to Tony's taller, shop.

It used to be the worst dirt road I had ever driven on, sometimes needing 4x4 to get up it. After Fonatur poured the cemento, Tony was on a 20 day holiday as clientes could not drive up to the taller. Doph.

Oh yeah...to get this repaired...the peeps on this calle must have voted for the "right" person at city hall!!

A loud camion is driving by Max.

Having spotted a ceramic planter with a ceramic iguana attached, Max does what Max feels is most appropriate.

He applies the Max Van passionate besito.

There are no sillas in Oxxo...so we made our own!!

The town is getting prepared for El Grito on 15 de septiembre and then Día de la Independencia on the 16th.

No...Cinco de Mayo is NOT Independence Day in Mexico!!

Before and after fotos of some work on the roof. This repair should solve the water coming down the wall above the front door.

Once the trabajadores patch this area, it should solve the agua coming in above Bex's oficina and the upstair's baño.

And sealing the area by Marco's feet should solve the issue with water coming in by the gable.

September is normally quite wet...stay tuned for repair updates!!

Misc

As heard coming out of Max's boca?

Yesterday as he exited the alberca, he showed his fingers to his madre, and knowing they are called pruney, he told his madre that his fingers were Gerbers...because he eats Gerber prunes at desayunos!!

And anoche when he told his madre he had sore legs and she asked why, he replied "I am old"...he heard that coming out of his Poppa's boca!!

Misc that makes you say "hmmmmm?". Max and I were getting ready for our bici tour and a señorita comes to our door. She says "hola Max" and asks how we are doing. I think it is an amiga of madres and she even asks for madre, who comes down from her oficina to say hola.

After a few minutes of chatting, the señorita leaves and I ask Bex who it was. She has no idea...it is a señorita who seems to clean a few condos and had come up to say hola to Max. Huh? We don't know her...but she knows where Max lives? Hmmmmmmm?

Here they are!!!  This past agosto we had average lows of 27,1 grados and highs of 32,4. This compares to 26,8 and 32,7 last year while we had 12 días con lluvia this year and 8 año pasado.

Humido? A killer agosto with 28 days con humido which is waaaaaay more then the 4 we had last year. Wowzers!!

And what can we expect for septiembre? Last year we had averages of 25,9 and 30,2...brrr. But that also means we save a ton of $$ by being able to sleep sin a/c in Max's room!! We had very little humido (phew) and even more días con lluvia...15. A wet septiembre and then a dry octubre and then 6 meses of no lluvia...muy seco!!

Off to cook pollo. Back at you after tina time.

Hasta pronto!!

Buenos noches...and the lluvia has returned yet again!! Not too much but enough to cool things down and then heat them up as the humido % rises. Oh well!!

Max y madre returned from the doctor at 545pm and the news is that one of the marks on his arm is an allergic reaction and the other...the doctor does not know. She asked if he burnt himself and we said no as he made no complains and we would have known. We continue on one set of meds, the suspension...liquid, and have moved onto another type of crema and if it does not get better in a week...back to the doctor we go.

After la cena and before tina time, I stepped out to buy the meds and they had one at Farmapronto, but did not have the other. They did have the "similar" but we have discovered (and the señorita behind the counter agreed) that similar does not mean it is as good as original (o-ree-he-nal). So we buck up and pay the big bucks.

Two farmacias later I have what Max needed and came home to find tina time finished and we were onto naked bum running around the casa doing "cheeky" time!!

As para la cena...good fajitas and Max ate 1.5 platefuls...wow.

And that was our día...long one and we are hoping with the short siesta, Max is in the mood for a quick lights out!!

Have a great martes y hasta mañana.

Marco, Bexico y Max
