Buenos noches y Feliz Día
de Los Trabajadores!! And it is also el primero de mayo!!
I asked Raphael the mecanico why he was working today and his answer was simple. "I need to eat". Not many businesses were closed today.
And what day did I miss
ayer? From Wikipedia…
In Mexico, El Día Del Niño is
celebrated on April 30. On this day teachers in schools organise the day for
their children. Lessons are suspended from 12 noon, sometimes earlier. They
organise games, music, and the children bring in their favourite foods to share
with others. Some families also have a day out with their children. There are
special activities for the children in parks and sports centres. Sometimes,
also, the children will be given presents by their families. This is the day
when children are really honoured in Mexico.
Mi padre made mention of
this day…it is now in my calendar!! And proxima año, we will celebrate it with this niño!!
And with the end of the
month, comes the temperature recap for the mes pasada.
Abril 2012 saw average
highs of 34,2 vs 35,0 of last year and also had average lows of 25,6 vs 26,2 of
2011. We actually noticed the small difference and it was appreciated!!
The averages for mayo spike
to 35,5 and 28,0…and then tack on all the humido.
But with the rains
arriving in late mayo, you see the temperatures in junio drop to averages of 32,8
y 26,0.
And now that you have had
your lesson for the day, we move on.
A good day…but wow was it early!!
But at least Max slept through most of the night!!
So there was the early
morning walk and some time spent at the alberca…but no soaking of the pies
today. Instead the lil’napper fell asleep within minutes of me taking him out
of his sling!!
So for some 25 minutes max
slept and padre just watched the small birds swoop into the pool and fly off.
And then it was off for
leche and we met madre on her way down to meet us at the pool.
Tagged off and the two of
them went on their way and I readied for el gimnasio. Good to get out of the
house before the heat really came on!!
A good session and then
pit stopped at Gabriels and caught up with the gang. Daniel had already looked
up the 01-800 (it is Mexico) number for Whirlpool Mexico, but they were closed
for the holiday.
He then tried the Puerto
Escondido number and chatted up the hombre at the other end of the phone. He
left all the info and we are expecting a call back hoy o mañana. Stay tuned.
Then it was home to see
what was up with the familia and as Max was about to hit the sack (not his
own…ja ja ja), I headed to Che. Scores? Raw garbanza (yes, that is spelt correctly) beans that Bex is going to
cook for Max and I also grabbed 2 different types of Gerbers that have no added
azucar or sodio.
We are surprised that
Gerbers would add sugar and salt to niño food. Who knew?
Grabbed some steaks for la
cena and pollo for mañana and chuletas de cerdo for jueves. We are all stocked
up!! Now if only the helado de chocolate would freeze!!
Full load of groceries and
when I came home I was greeted by a familia trying to help Senor Max with his
business. I think due to the Labour Day holiday, his “business” took the day
off and he is not pleased about it!!
Hoping to move some things
around, we hit the pool where he had another deck dunk…pretty awesome!!
Then is was back upstairs
to start the pre-rutina and get some more pear into him…rumor has it pears and
prunes come from the same “family” when it comes to you know what!!
He sat soooo patiently in
his high chair as his padres ate their la cena, and then he was plopped into
his tina where he loves to splash…and today was also an “explore one’s anatomy”
day. We could hardly keep from laughing it was hilarious.
So, 9pm and Bex is up in
the oficina hard at work as she has a new client and project!!
I am wrapping up Global
News and the lil’backed up hombre is fast asleep…ok, almost fast asleep. Via
the video monitor we see his soother moving in and out of his mouth and every
now and then he moans a few words in español.
Fotos.
If I did not love animals...these two would be the first to go. Barking all night!!
Moooo...Oaxaca Gas. The "mooo" is the audio they play to let peeps know when they are driving around with their camioneta selling the propane.
Another jail break?
Naaaah. Low season...time to renovate. Maybe change the paint scheme?
Just magical...
Hey Bubba, what's up with all the clean laundry fotos? Not sure...but this one seems to capture many elements of the day to day life of Huatulco.
You need to be a grande hombre to carry those heavy pieces of pottery around.
Our miercoles? I did not
get to the FM3…doph. So I will try to and will also follow up on the shelf for
the fridge. Mojon is sometime this week and we are locked into la cena de pavo
on sábado!! Score!!
Hasta mañana mis amigos!!
Marco, Bex y Max
