Feliz cumpleaños Senor
Bernie!!
815pm and Bex is making
her 100th (?) cup of tea, Max is asleep (fell asleep on the jug) and
I am dropping a few lines before I get to work.
Huh? Get to work? Yup…I
need to send Roman a list of the items we discussed today and then I need to
fix up a letter for the inmigracion department.
OK, the day….
Bex had the early shift
and I was up an hour later so I could head to inmigracion. I get there at 9am
and of course…the armed guard comes out to tell me there is no one there and
come back in 10 minutes. Between you and me….there is NEVER anyone there at
9am!! Ja ja ja
905am and a taxi pulls up
and out pops one senorita. Good news is that she is one of the more patient
peeps that works in the oficina.
910am I am let in and
after signing the log book, I am given a red card with the number 2 on it.
There is no one else there…who steal a number 1? Ja ja ja
10 minutes of waiting and
I am called over. We review the stack of documents and I am pleased that I am
90% there. A few changes of wording on one document, all the paginas of Max’s
pasaporte foto copied vs just paginas 2 y 3, a complete redo of one letter
and…we needed to get a constancia de concubinato filled out and witnessed by
dos testigos. Dos testigos? Had to double check the meaning of that palabra!!
Ja ja ja
The constancia confirms
how long Bexico and I have been living together as a familia as we are not married.
But here in Mexico, due to Max, she is still considered mi esposa and me her
esposo.
Bex had the FM3 fotos
taken today. Keepers!!
It sounds like it was still a challenge to get the fotos...but NOTHING like the hour plus it took to get an acceptable foto for his Canadian passport.
I have already made
all the changes except for the letter redo. Argh. So that is what I need to
work on tonight.
I made it home from
inmigracion at 940am and there was Roman waiting out front for the plomero…who
was due at 930am. The line is “Mexican time”…nice.
Five minutes later the
plomero arrives and 25 minutes later, after a quick cleaning of the very small
wall mounted water heater, problem solved….oh, and $350 pesos later. No
issue...landlord will cover it.
With Roman in the house,
might as well review the current notes and where we stand with the plans. That
took an hour plus, meanwhile Max y madre were out getting the fotos done.
We are very happy with a
redesigned cocina in the rental and showed that to Roman. Also showed his some
fotos of a Juliet balcony and told him we are leaning towards having 5 of these
on the side of the casas that face del mar.
The look will be nice with
palapa style awnings over each.
So…the windows facing the oceano will look something like this.
Glass on both sides and then the doors that part in the middle.
And with a Juliet balcony something like this.
And these are palapa
awnings…ours will have a haircut.
So were are we at overall?
We need to finish the plans…almost done. Roman needs to finalize a few numbers
for the overall project…he tells me this week he should have all the numbers.
Once we have that, we
decide how it all fits into the budget and if we are happy, we proceed with
step 2 of Sergio’s work…the updated plans in CAD, the architects computer
program.
Stay tuned…we might have
CAD drawings in a week or so.
How long does the
paperwork process take after we have approved plans and costs? Six months…so we
might be able to break ground in diciembre!! And fall 2013 as a move in date?
Hello!!!
Adios to Roman and off to
el gimnasio. A good workout and then home to pick up the papel that needed
fotocopying, as well as the constancia for Lalo y Daniel to sign.
A good pit stop, the
copying was barrato…cheapo.
Home and after Max had
another nap (great work madre), we hoofed it to the alberca.
A nice session and we were
out earlier then normal so we were not as rushed with the rutina.
After we left the alberca,
the VERY dark nube rolled in and then we started to hear the trueno…thunder.
Shortly after that…
Our first official rain
since diciembre!! Last year it was 20 de mayo…so we are only 2 days late!! The
temperatura? Last night at 11pm it was 32,0 grados and 60% humido…equates to
42,0 grados. Yikes. Tonight after the lluvia…brrrr, it is 920pm and 28,4
grados. And almost no humido so it is a nice evening!!
Max seemed ok with the
thunder and lightning and after our cena, his rutina was completed, and…that
was our day.
Last fotos.
That is una rana...a frog.
And this bird's nest was on a wire above where Raphael the mecanico works.
Misc
New word for the boys at
Gabriels? Chopped. Lalo saw it on TV for a cooking show and did not know what
it meant.
Mañana…back to
inmigracion!!
Ok…off to type a letter in
español…wish me luck.
Hello from the lil'hombre!!
Hasta mañana.
Marco, Bexico y Max
