Hola mis amigos.
The significance of this
foto?
This is the face of a niño
who had 3 vacunas today, including 2 needles into his chubby lil’thighs, and
did NOT cry!! Actually the first needle was 100% without even a peep and the 2nd
one had a 2 second blip and then was followed with his usual expression of “is
that all you got?”.
Getting up at 645am to get
the lil’trooper his vacunas was that much better due to his demeanor.
Once at the hospital, we
were 2nd in line and Bex had a nice chat with a senorita who was
waiting for her cita.
Once in the vacuna room we
were greeted by the same hombre who has the “what are you white peeps still
doing here?” look, but also by a nurse who is an amiga of Daniel.
Which is great because she
takes good care of us, and….because I have asked Daniel to ask her 2 questions
about the vacunas Max received today.
The cartilla said he would
get an influenza shot today, but he did not. I asked when and the hombre said
noviembre or diciembre. I suspect that this is when the vaccines are delivered to the hospital.
But after we left and I
looked at his cartilla, I noticed that Max received another rotovirus shot, one
that is not on the cartilla.
Not worried, but just want
Daniel to ask his amiga por que. Stay tuned.
So home we went and even
though it would have been a perfect time to head to el gimnasio, I was too
tired so I grabbed some shut eye. And once awake, I was off to the gym.
Good workout and then a
pit stop at Gabriels on the way home. First order of business…call the Policia
Municipal. Por que? Because in the “friendly drunk” parque, was a drunk with no
pants on. Trust me, no one needed to see that.
But it seems the locals
just ignored it, but I thought about all the niños and when I went back to
check, the policia had done their job.
Fridge update? $381 pesos
gets us (maybe?) a fridge shelf from Puerto. The shelf is $15 in Canada, but we
would still need to get it here…probably when some amigos come down in julio.
Now we pay $29 Cdn, get it sent from Puerto and have the shelf in a few weeks.
Stay tuned.
Came home from the centro
and it was nap time for Max. He had been suffering no real side effects from
the vacunas, but for an hour or so had been over antsy.
So off we went and what
does a niño who has had 2 needles deserve? Hola to a chest nap!! The plan was a
normal nap, madre would grab some shut eye as well, and then we would all hit
the pool.
A “normal nap” is 20-30
minutes…can you say hola to a 75 minute nap? Score!!
The clouds had rolled in,
but it was still nice and warm and we hit the pool. The lil’speedo wearer loves
the pool and after he had splashed himself out, we took him upstairs for the
rutina.
I popped out for a bollo
for the chili, then dropped off the $$$ for Daniel to order the shelf, and then
pit stopped at Santa Cruz…score on a DC and guess who has mil isla back in
stock? Double score!!! Ja ja ja
Good dinner and then we
let Max burn off some energy and he was lights out after his milkshake.
MISC
I read online that
foreigners with FM3s can apply for IMSS…the public health service. Something to
look into. Stay tuned.
Rainy season is coming!! At
7am and it was totally cloudy and no viento. It then became totally sunny and
around 2pm the viento rolled back in, nice and fresco, and at 3pm it has clouded
over again with some very dark nube over the local montaña.
Fotos
Things are just "different" here. I love it!!
This is what a voter registration card looks like. Daniel tells me they are often sold for $1000 pesos...doph. Oh yeah...that is tío Betto!!
Max loves his Einstein!! Here he is wailing on Wally the Whale.
Excuse me, are you talking about me?
And while madre was out doing some laps in the pool...Max in his Bumbo chair, enjoying vida.
Mañana? No sé. Stay tuned.
Hasta mañana.
Marco, Bexico y Max
