Hola amigos!!!

Terrible twos? Day #2 wasn’t so bad!! Ja ja ja

Max has discovered his love of boobies and was ferocious last night. At one time it was a full 2.5 hour feeding. All I could do during that time was keep Bexico company and take a power snooze.

It is 845pm and we are all home!!! Bexico y Max are taking their naps and I am in charge (oh-oh) of keeping an eye on max as he zzzz’s away on the couch.

A few hours ago it dawned on me that in the past 24 hours I had slept 3-4 hours and had only eaten a Clif Bar…no wonder I passed out (not literally) once we got home. I don’t even remember hitting the sack…I even passed up Nascar!! Lol

Had a good day…nice to be checked out of the maternity ward even though it meant getting examined and de-briefed by quite a few nurses and doctors and of course our mid-wife.

Someone from the the m-w team will be popping by the condo tomorrow or Tuesday and take care of us until we go back home. Lots to do!!

Mis padres were back today and it was nice to be able to have them hold Max one ore time before they head back to the Island. We were very happy to be able to have them see Max 15 minutes after he was born and then for several hours over the past few days.

I am sure I am forgetting a ton of small deets (details) but please bare with me…long few days.

We were given the green light to leave and I loaded up the truck and came back for the family. We hit the desk and the lead nurse was a bitt (hee x3) amazed that we were leaving without a car seat in hand. We OBVIOUSLY have a great one (thanks again RJ y Rolly) that stays in the car…good until max is 85 pounds!!

So the nurse grilled me a bit…where do we live, how long to get home, what route are we taking and did I know how to secure Max into the seat. Passed the tests and off we went.

We went down the elevator with another set of new parents…our kid is huge compared to theirs!! Sign of things to come?

He fussed for 30 seconds as we out him in the seat…and slept the whole way home…grinning while Bono and U2 played on the stereo!!

Max calming pitstop. All good…just wanted to see a face and here some music.

After my power nap, off to Stupid Store to grab a quick dinner for Bexico and I (roti, baguette and some coleslaw) and to also look for some lanolin to soothe some biting from you know who and you know where!! Ja ja ja

No luck…North Van does not have a pharmacy open past 5 or 6pm on Sundays. Argh. All good…I will find some mañana.

Max is a-ok…doing great. Bexico is pooped and rightfully so. She has also started to experience some of the discomfort from the c-section. Important to take the meds and continue on them as now that we are out of the hospital, she will be moving around more and that will be tender. We declined on the Ty-3 with codeine…that can go into the breast milk and affect Max. And to add to all the fun...Bexico is experiencing some cold and/or flu symptoms. They can be c-section related...but still no fun.

Bexico managed to have a call from both her madre y one of her other sisters…she has 3 hermana y 3 hermano!!

I had a quick chat with mi otra hermana and I truly hope she can make it to Vancouver before we head home to Huatulco.

We are both super excited about this new chapter of our lives and again wanted to thank everyone for their well wishes and support.

1015pm and it has been diaper duty and song singing duty. Bexico managed a cat nap and we hope Max takes some zzzz’s so she can get more sleep herself.

Fotos? Why not fotos yet? We packed about 99% of the items we needed at the hospital, but did not think about the cable to connect the Canon to the Mac. So…with no further delays, may we introduce Max Pieter Van (Vanderleeden)

Max’s private(s)...or based on size is he a Colonel? Ja ja ja

Photo taken while Bexico was in the recovery room....8lbs 4oz

Bono keeping warm.

It was this warmer that I was pushing down the hall (with Max inside) when we surprised mis padres in the waiting room.
