Happy Canada Day everyone!!

And look what clima el primero de julio (July 1st) brought us!!

It rained toda el día jueves and all through the night. Crazy!! The temperatures are great…the clammy humido was back though.

I thought anoche (last night) would be the first time in a few months without a/c when we hit the sack, but we actually used the a/c to dry the room out!! Ja ja ja

Won’t bore you with the generalities of our last two days…here are some details.

Bexico has been on a tear. Lots of work and more comes in. Here is her update:

Ø     *Paris…finished but waiting for payment
Ø     *Ottawa…on going with the monkey animation. I think it looks great so far!!
Ø     *Israel…the first batch of drawings are already on the clients website, waiting for approval to finish the project. Here is a link to the website.

Ø     *Vancouver client has contracted her for another drawing…due lunes
Ø     *Finishing 5th illustration and 2 logos for another client. Waiting for approval still.
Ø     *Another client took only 5 minutes to approve an illustration/logo. Due asap…but like many clients…impossible to get approvals from
Ø     *And the new client!! Bexico has another animation to complete!! It is a 20 second animation for a media company!!

Felicidades!!

Conejito is getting bigger and is often saying hola. Seems to like music!! Bexico still has some problems falling asleep…but 3am-11am has been working like a charm. Ja ja ja

Me? El gimnasio and saying hola to all the amigos. Today was Hector, who wanted to know about Mojon and laughed at the fact that our colchone (mattress) is made for Mexicanos…my feet dangle off the end. Lol

Roas is getting better…major…but not perfect yet and it is still in a sling. She has her annual vacation coming up and is really excited about that.

I appreciate the fact that after I am done talking in español with someone, Rosa steps in and makes sure the peep understands me!! Ja ja ja

It was nice to be able to walk to and from the gym…without getting soaked!! Lol

Here is today’s view of the montañas.

Still cloudy over there, but almost totally clear in the direction of the oceano.

Here is a link to some weather statistics for Salina Cruz…about 2 hours south-east of Huatulco.

Looks like junio is very wet, it lightens up for the next 2 meses (yipee) and then some good rain in septiembre. We had a beautiful sunny afternoon and we needed it after the past 4 or 5 days!! Hello alberca time!! Ja ja ja

Misc

Wow and gracias!! That is what we emailed our landlord Aimee in Portland after asking her to order our Toys R Us products online…but she actually went to a Toys R Us store with a 20% coupon she found online, and then bought all our products!!

And great news from Amazon y Nike.com…our other items are on the way to Portland as well. I will pick them up in 2.5 months!!

A peek into our fin de semana? Work and more work for Bexico, Nascar domingo (hello!!) and some great meals planned. We also hope to get to a rescheduled rapido playoff game…it might be mañana.

How’s this sound for weekend meals? Muslo pollo, rib eyes, chili, pan frances y cerdo hash!!

Here are some fotos for you all.

Who knows what this is?

A prize for the correct answer.

In a matter of 5 minutes, this was the third person I had seen with the 3 (yes 3) litro bottle.

They LOVE their Coca Cola.

Ayer, despues de lluvia.

Fonatur hombres doing some weeding.

This hombre was not adjusting the dish.

In between downpours, he was adjusting a plastic tarp on his roof.

The rain falls and out come the mats.

Or at least the boxes. The big guy? He is the face of the largest farmacia in town.

Look at this pothole.

Swallowing cabs....and for the keen eyes...a sitio bufadero taxi!!

In junio, this is a rare site in Huatuco.

Yup…tourists.

“What you looking at?”

And who is this I spotted?

It looks like Gato Negro…but inside a condo?

Later I saw the real Gato Negro y Blanco doing what they do best…nothing.

This niña was watching her padre fix electronic items.

Not sure why I keep taking these fotos.

Just two hard working Elders….and no, not mi amigo Elder!!

Last but not least.

I tried…but it flew away too soon.

There are some aves muy lindo (beautiful birds) that I keep trying to get fotos of. There is one that is black with bright yellow feathers down its back.

That’s all amigos.

Buen fin de semana.

Marco y Bexico
