Buenos tardes amigos!! 7pm here…the thermometer states it is only 31 grados inside…but it is a muggy one!! We had a cloudy with sunny periods type of day and now the nube have moved in…might get some lluvia to help quash the humido. Almost no viento, so that is not helping.

El sol? It was out during our walk to lunch and then during lunch. And of course it was gone by the time we had alberca time!!! Ja ja ja

Waiting on el pollo con papas, so time to start the blog update.

Bexico is on the mend, but not yet 100%. A light workout, some laps in the pool and more oficina work. Good news is that she is starting to hear from some of the “long lost” clients and they are finalizing work, which allows her to close a contract…and get paid!!

Me? El gimnasio and had a great walk to and from the condo.

Here are the motos that some of the policia drive.

It could be 40 grados and there are 2 hombres on the moto…in full gear. Mucha calor!!

Coco frios…again.

The hombre looks like quite the character.

These next two fotos come from the front of a turismo bus.

Not sure what kind of view the mirror provides with the tape around it. As I was taking a foto of the mirror, the driver of the bus approached. I asked him about the picture on the bus, mistaking it for the Virgen de Guadalupe.

He told me it is the Virgen de Juquila and that she wards of illness. I asked if I could take the foto and he said sí. We talked about his trip (6 days around Oaxaca) and about me being Canadian.

Here is the Wikipedia link to info on the saint.

Ok…so it is in español!! She is the second patron saint of Oaxaca, her shrine is in the Oaxacan city of Santa Catarina Juquila, and she is celebrated on Dec 8.

I did not get around to asking about the flowers on the mirrors, maybe I will ask Rosa on lunes. Stay tuned.

This hombre looked like he was buying some property as he was taking fotos.

A gatito and amigo that I have never seen before.

Turismo autobus.

Diet is a concern here…or maybe the correct phrase is that there is a lack of concern? Lots of pop, tortillas, 70 cent beers....

Oh oh…better get Maaco.

Now that the drum has been painted, onto the cab. Here, no special shop is needed to paint.

I had a great workout…the place is empty still. Maybe everyone misses Rosa?

Came home and was stopped at the gate by Oscar, property manager, whipping hombre of co-strata President, Lydia.

He asked me to get rid of our conches, that we have on a ledge outside our main door. I told him we use them to listen to the oceano…no laugh. I told him ok…but also told him that come deciembre, there better not be any smokers around the pool!!

Here are the infraction causing shells.

Later I walked by the gates again and show Hector (silent H) the same foto. He says “Oscar” and I say no…Lydia and make a whipping gesture. He agrees and then breaks out in a laugh!!

We headed out for our 1pm lunch and saw this camioneta again.

Spiderman must have been popular…and sold. Vendido I think is the word.

Here is Crappy Kraut…oops, Crazy Kraut. The older senorita who served us, was super friendly, but wow did the food suck and the timing was even worse.

La carta (menu) was in ingles (no sé por que) and I ordered schnitzel sandwich with fried potatos and pickles. I got a fried breaded pork schnitzel, a small salad and some potato chips. Karen had the same meal, but sent the undercooked schnitzel back for a little more cooking. Bexico had a salad…lamo and her side of potatos was a side of chips!! Ja ja ja.

They have an “all day breakfast” menu but were out of hollandaise at 1pm, so Randy ordered some eggs y ham…he received his meal a full 40 minutes after we did. And did I tell you there was not a single other guest in the restaurante? Ugh. We felt bad as we had picked the place based on reading the menu and having it recommended to us.

We picked up the tab as a thank you for Randy bringing Bexico a box of Fibre One bars from his recent trip to Canada, and then promptly headed across the street to this spot.

Hello…dessert!!

Great service, two niñas helping out. Desserts were pretty good…typical in the fact that they do not use a lot of sugar in their cooking, so a brownie was chocolate, but not sweet like we are used to.

I am headed to an hour of cardio mañana!!!

Don’t even say a word. Ja ja ja

Notice the fair skinned Mexican? Chilangos from DF…Mexico City. Notice what is written on the carretilla (wheelbarrow)? Bache…pot holes!! Ja ja ja

830pm…la cena was great. Love the pollo!!

Antes (before) la cena, I went out and met our neighbor. The condo next to ours is owned by a Dutch/Mexican family and normally has nannies or mannies living there. For the next 3 weeks there is a young Dutchman who is just here on vacacione.

Dag (dakh…hello in Dutch) and then some chat. Then I asked him and his amiga to not smoke on the landing. Doph. Nice peeps, I said tot ziens (bye in Dutch) and then we ate la cena.

Back to the fotos.

This niño has peeled oranges in his bucket and he is selling them.

Moments before this foto was taken, I just missed a great foto of him poking his head behind the curtain that keeps the cantina privado.

When we walked by him, he offered us an orange but since we did not want one, I dropped him a peso anyway.

And to end the fotos for the day….

Today we supplied some leche for both Gato Negro y Blanco. For Gato Negros #1 fan, le streb, here are two more fotos.

What a flirt that gato is!!

Despues de comida (after lunch), we grabbed some more fruta y verdura at Fruver, and then back to the condo where we had our alberca time.

Bexico then went back to work and I surfed the web for a while. Internet speed jumps up and down, as witnessed by using iStat pro, which shows internet speeds.

Our guarantee from Telmex (your tech will come by within 3 business days) did not happen. I think another phone call is in order…wish us luck.

Guess what I forgot we had on our pre-Vancouver to do list. Duh…find a pediatrician here in Huatulco, and confirm where niño will get it’s vaccinations. Doph.

Ayer I mentioned we might go to Mojon…but we have no camioneta!! Maybe…hopefully…we can go miercoles after Tony fixes the truck on martes!!

Mañana I am looking forward to chelas con mi amigos and then on domingo, the Edmonton Indy race at 1pm.

Last but not least...some parenting tips that were sent to us via le streb. You will have to click on the images to make them easier to read.

Have a great fin de semana!!
