Buenos tardes amigos.
Lots of excitement in Huatulco today. ¿ Por que? Two big football-soccer games are being televised!! TVs everywhere are tuned to the games…including the 3 inch set that Marcelino at the gate is watching!!
Other excitement? How about avoiding death? True story…as I am walking home after my city stroll, I decide to cross the street a block earlier then I normally do. Now walking on the other side of the street, I hear a huge bang and directly across from me, where I would have been walking if I had not crossed the street, I see the huge awning above the fruta y verdura tienda has broken it’s anchors and fallen off the façade of the tienda, onto the sidewalk.
That foto was taken seconds after it happened and thankfully, there was no one under the awning. How rare as that sidewalk is usually full of people doing their shopping!!
Later we saw them working on getting the awning reinstalled.
Using the world famous airplane wire, clamps, rope and pulley!!
Phew…still kicking!! And so is conejito!! Ja ja ja
Bexico has managed to avoid almost all morning sickness, but has not managed to avoid insomnia!! Another late night for her meant a later start to her day, but she has been muy ocupada (very busy) with her work. She did manage to take time out for some VERY refreshing alberca time and a quick stroll around town.
No humido today (3 days in a row) so 29 degrees feels like 29 and with a breeze, Bexico was actually a bit (hee x3) chilly in the alberca. But with the cooler weather we are getting some walks in…something we postponed for 6 weeks!!
My day included the gimnasio where Rosa was patiently waiting for Memo to relieve her so she could start her fin de semana.
I had a great workout and chatted up Fermin. Funny guy as sometimes he completely ignores me, but today he wanted to chat it up. I try to speak español with him, but as a taxista, he speaks very good ingles….and likes to use it on me.
Memo rolled in at 1230pm…for his media dia start time!! Kids!!
I gave him the Sport Chek website and told him to look up the size 13 zapatos and pick out a pair. We will buy them on line and bring them back in December.
Strolled through town and actually saw a few non-Mexicans. It was Gerry from our clase de español, her esposo and dos amigos. Gerry is from BC, a retired nurse, and currently lives en un barco con su esposo y perro…Goof. (on a boat with her husband and dog, Goof) Ja ja ja
Picked up a few rib eyes at Papalopan, hola to the boys and then avoided death.
Home for a swim and then the stroll around town and that was really the day.
7pm and the pasta sauce is ready…noodles ready for 730pm…la cena!!
Here are the otro fotos from the dia.
If you are going to have a street fiesta…
Don’t forget to block off the calle.
I am pretty sure they do not issue permits for these events. Maybe a “donation” was made!!
Four hombres and one camioneta.
Installing windshield wipers and discussing rainy season!!
I am sure these hombres are happy there is no humido.
Those are heavy bags of Cruz Azul cement…and they have another 25 or so pallets to load.
Carpinteros.
And the vendedor...salesman.
Moto de tortilla.
Fixed ayer and then anoche there was lluvia. Last night there was rain.
Oh brother....Fonatur...the definition of insanity.
And here is Senor Perro.
These next fotos are from the stroll Bexico and I took.
This hombre is delivering un bloque de hielo para un restaurnate.
En el centro comercial (mall), Bexico watching a Pixar DVD.
And then realizing she was being fotographed.
Don't the two of them look great!!
The main iglesia en La Crucecita.
Where we will NOT be getting married. Ja ja ja
And last but not least.
Yeah, yeah…Gato Negro!!
Mañana? Pancake domingo and Nascar!!
Have a great domingo y Feliz Dia del Padre!! Don’t forget Dad!!
