One of the last sonrisa fotos of 2014!!
Buenos tardes and welcome to the last blog update for 2014!! Currently 4pm and I am under the palapa at playa Mojon, on a overcast afternoon with a cool breeze coming in off del mar.
Hmmmmm...did we bring enough warm clothes for esta noche? Ja ja ja
We arrived an hour or so ago, and my first task has been accomplished!!
Yup, the stack of madera is ready to go and my lil'helper combed the playa with me and we loaded up on lots of extra sticks.
We ate our comida at home and we have about 2 more hours of daylight, so we will start cooking la cena at 530pm, clean up, start the bonfire, roast the marshmallows, light off some fuegos artificiales and then call it a year.
Home before 830pm would be good and Max in bed by 9pm would be ideal. What time he falls asleep is anyone's guess. And if you had guessed 910pm last night, you would have won the lottery.
What up with that lil'man? Usual rutinas for us, tina time, leche y libros, 30 minutos con su madre and then I went in at 750pm...and came out at 845pm. Your turn Momma Bex!!
The lil'guy lay in his cuna, but he just cannot "close the show". I swore he was asleep 3 or 4 times, but each time he "wakes up" and asks me a question. "can I cook huevos tomorrow?"...
"what was that noise?"..."can you tell me the story about when you broke your nose?" etc.
Oh well...oh well until 5am when he decides he would like to come into bed with me and toss and turn until 6am.
Leche, videos at 630am and I was lights out until 715am. Onto the rest of the rutinas and I did not even have a minuto to get the Palacio ready because as soon as I exited the bedroom, lil'escape artist was out of his cuna and in the Palacio asking me to play Lego.
It dawned on him that I have a list of things I need to do in the morning, and he played it pretty cool while I accomplished those things.
Breakfast, play, letters M, N and O and then out the door for a good bici tour. A 5am wake up means a 1115am siesta and that means no swim, so off we went to pay the agua bill and that is quite a distance.
Zoom zoom around and then a pit stop at Oxxo and then his bum was sore and it was Poppa carry the bici time.
Grabbed some boleros (crusty buns) for lunch and dinner and then home for the leche, libros and siesta. Oh, it was a good siesta for The Boys!! Max was lights out by 1135am and did not wake up for 2 horas!!
I grabbed an hour and I am ready to party!!
We decided to eat lunch at home so we did not need to pack 2 sets of meals to Mojon, and after lunch it was load up and off we went.
Max was excited to point out all the places he had been ayer, the rancho with the caballos and then the iguanario tambien.
A good drive for all, including Max!! Phew. Unpack, play time and bonfire building time and you are all caught up. The familia is off at the rocks and I will be joining them, and because el sol has come out...hola hola to a dip in del mar.
Strange, the things you don't notice living in this small town. We have 2 or 3 airplanes a day that fly over head, and you might hear them, and you might not. Just now 2 helicopteros flew over our palapa and that is a noise you never hear here. Hmmmm?
Ok, here they are...the fotos from the día.
Third floor landing fotos.
No, that is not lluvia on the sidewalk. Marciano just watered the grass.
Zoom zoom.
Max loves the center median as he can just zoom zoom.
But after a while, he realizes you are not right behind him, and he comes a zoom zooming back.
Muy fuerte niño parking his bici so he can go climb the anchor en frente de el hospital.
I hoisted Max onto the anchor and he immediately starts to squirm...the pee squirm. We go horizontal behind the anchor and as Max states "whoa, I feel better", we loaded up and were outta there.
Pit stop.
Itchy cheek.
Oxxo pit stop.
And if you come across Max on his bici, he will pull aside and let you pass with his now patented move, called "The Pasale".
Ok, off to play!! Back at you later tonight!!
Hasta pronto.
Buenos noches and there are 2 hours left in our 2014!!
Our afternoon at playa Mojon was a huge success and a whole lot of fun. We will miss our playa and our NYE tradition...but we will figure out something grand for next year!!
The rest of the afternoon? Play time and then it was cook time under the palapa. Something about cooking camarones on the playa....oh so yummy!! Leftover coals in the BBQ? Hola hola to roasted marshmallows!!
We managed to finish up just as el sol was setting, so we had everything cleaned up and moved down to the playa before it got dark.
Funny thing...it got dark enough to use a flashlight, but by the end of the noche, la luna was bright enough that you could see clearly. Hmmmm?
Bonfire time and this got Max peaked!! He loves the fuego!! It was dark enough so we set off a few Roman candles and Max's response? "No more fuegos artificiales please". Yikes...I was just getting started.
During the course of the noche, we eased him into them and based on last year's experience, we knew this might happen.
No loud banging fireworks, just a few that shot into the sky with a whistle.
Other then the 10 ball Roman candles, of which 2 out of 6 were duds, we had a 10 shot screecher, a 30 shot screecher and by the time we got around to the 300 shot screecher, Max was a-ok with them.
We were close to Max's normal bedtime and we could see he was getting amped up. We wanted to stay a little longer to enjoy the fire and the noche, so The Boys went for a prowl down to the end of the playa.
Upon our return, it was time to douse the fire, pack up the playa chairs and head home.
Easy drive back, Max was intrigued by the night driving as we almost never drive at noche.
Home at 830pm and Max was tina'd up and in his room by 850pm. I took casa clean up duty and Bex had Max duty with the provision that if she came out at 915pm, I was going to take over.
She came out at 925pm...mission accomplished!!
Wolfed back some imported almond M&Ms and as madre finishes of the dishes from Mojon, I type away.
Mañana? Bex is looking into a waaaaaay early paddle...off to playa Chahue to watch the first sunrise of the year. It may or may not happen...stay tuned.
And then we will have a familia desayunos at Los Portales before carrying on with our jueve rutinas.
Hey...want to see some playa Mojon fotos?
An overcast afternoon, but lots of playa to play on.
Or to chase bubbles on.
If he gets sand in his ojo, he will approach his madre like this, without saying a word, knowing he will get full service!!
Max points at so many things a day, and says "look Poppa" just as many times!!
Someone had dragged some madera down the playa and Max found the track and went running along it. Phew...he decided to turn around and run back.
Beware the tongue!!
Cute niño in jeans and a Beatles short sleeve playera, eating his garlic toast.
And with this sunset, we wish you a buen Fin de Año and all the best in 2015!!
Hasta mañana.
Marco, Bexico y Max
