How’s this for a currency fluctuation? Since June 2011, the value of the Cdn dollar vs the peso has increased by 16%. We are paying 16% less for everything but rent and even that isn’t too bad even though the US dollar has kicked the Cdn butt recently.

The issue with that? We pay for rebar and cemento in pesos, but at whatever the going rate in US dollars is. All because those items are considered a world traded commodity.

But we will enjoy the peso as long as we can, and that includes wiring some $$ into my Mexican account, and…buying 8 packages of panales!!

Huh? Che finally had the Comodisec diapers back in stock and I bought a master case of 4 paquettes. I went to the checkout and they rung in at $89 pesos a pack…$55 pesos less then the replacement ones we have been buying.

So, dropped off the groceries and back in for another 4 paquettes!! Life must be tranquilo if you get excited about finding panales!!

And if your interest has been peaked even more, click HERE for the Comodisec website!!

It is el primer día de junio, that means time to update the weather numbers from last month.

We had average highs of 34,7 and lows of 28,0. Año pasado it was 35,5 and 28,0…so a little bit (hee hee hee) cooler in the day, and bang on with last years night time lows.

Junio last year averaged 32,8 and 26,0. With rain like we had today, it really cools things off. Mind you, that is if the lluvia falls in the late afternoon. The morning shower we had just made the humidity that much worse. Ugh.

930pm, Max is lights out and madre is hard at work in the oficina. I have the idiot box on…oh good…a Timmy Ho commercial is on!! I have spent some time looking at the numbers I was given by Randy…and I am comparing apples to oranges.

I could not meet up with the team today, so Randy gave us the info over lunch at Los Gallos (do not order the quesadilla…bland), and I will need to meet with the team next week.

I know exactly what is included in the first quote including what quality of finishes have been quoted. I just need to ask the same questions of the second team. Stay tuned.

What else was our day about? Early shift and a walk con Max. His first siesta was in the cuna…it just took some gentle persuasion!!

As I was getting ready for the gym, Amy dropped off some more water and chatted up Max y madre. And then Roman came by for some $$ to start stage 2 of the drawings.

While he was here we went downstairs to some condos he oversees, and I went in to look at the woodwork his carpintero completes. Good quality…if Roman keeps his ojos on him!!

Good to know as things like the kitchen cabinets are included, but we will need a carpintero for our shelves in the living room as well as all the bedframes y headboards.

After all that, I hit the gym…took the camioneta as time was ticking down towards our lunch, and I needed another Che run before I came home.

The gym was deserted, I had a good workout, hit the Che and headed home.

Great to have lunch with our amigos and Max was so well behaved. The peeps in the restaurante loved him as he just stood on our laps looking around and soaking it all in. And of course, Max being Max, a little smile for the table of 3 senoritas sitting behind us. Oh Max, the lil’flirter.

Karen y Randy are flying back to Canada soon and will be driving back, so we bestowed all our wisdom on them…bring a gas can!!

Max let madre know it was time to go, so the two of them headed home (across the calle) and when I came home shortly after, it was nap time for the lil’snoozer.

Madre started work on the meatloaf…we need a better pan…and when Max awoke, we hit the alberca under some very dark skies.

Twenty or so minutes later, Max experienced his first real Huatulco rainstorm and he was quite intrigued. The only issue was that when you combine the pool, a breeze, no sun and then the downpour, it was quite cool and he was getting cold

But ta da!! Who arrives with un paraguas? Madre!! So we wrapped Max up and took him back upstairs. Hello FT con his abuelos!!

And next thing you know it is rutina time!! Ensaladas, feed the lil’machine, eat our cena, dishes, wash the lil’hombre, his massage (huh?), some education (he is on his 1-10 numbers) and then leche time.

I managed to watch the Global News…who is killing the gatos in Maple Ridge? That is nuts.

I have been trying to figure out a way to tell you this…it is no foto viernes. Ya ya, I know…sham blog. Lo siento.

Mañana…fotos!!

Buen fin de semana.

Marco, Bexico y Max
