755pm and the lil’hombre
is tanking up and then should be asleep pretty fast. Por que so fast? He is
pooped…all because of a day that started at 615am. Huh?
He grabbed 3 naps during
the day, including an almost 2 hour CN con madre!! Lucky peeps!!
But he was up early and
brrrrr…it hit 26,7 last night and was actually chilly this morning. Ja ja ja
We had the morning rutina
but since he was up soooo early, we delayed the walk until after his primero
nap. Not sure what the deal is with desayunos, but he loses interest fast and
35 minutes later we are finishing. Gotta be creative to keep the lil’chewer
chewing.
During the first 2 hours
of the day, Max spends some time in the cuna and then into the Play Palace. I
was grabbing some cereal in the cocina and turned around to see this.
Grabbed
the camera and took a few more shots.
And
to prove these were not posed fotos.
As
we were about to get ready to eat our desayunos, I caught wind of some
wrassling in the Play Palace.
Wrassling foul called on Camo Squatchi...illegal placement of the paw.
After wrassling, always stretch during the cool down.
After
the nap, we hit the road with a beso each from madre. A quick walk but it was
good with a pit stop in the zocalo.
We
came home and soaked our pies in the alberca before coming upstairs hot and
pooped.
I
took a siesta while madre y Max hung out and when I woke up, I found the
lil’jumper was headed into his JJ. The niño LOVES the JJ!!
I
hit the road and stopped at a few ferreteria, looking for a new sink strainer.
Four tiendas later, I have discovered that this town does not sell just the
strainer. You need to buy the complete set of hardware, called a contra
canasta, which translates into “against basket”. Who knew?
I
did grab the cheapest one, $40 pesos on sale (for me), down from $45!! A Home
Depot here would be a dream!!
Off
to el gimnasio, empty again, and had a good but quick workout.
The
fotos from my walk.
Much different weather then last year. Another mainly sunny day with the nube staying mainly over the montaña.
The peeps below us have moved out. They were smokers, but kept the windows closed 99% of the time. The smoke did travel from their bodega (right of picture) and up into our unit, so we kept the bodega door shut...and lost a breeze.
Hoping the next peeps that move in are non-smokers or keep their windows shut as well.
The for sale signs on the 3 units owned by one hombre, have been removed. Not sure the outcome, but there are still 3 or 4 more for sale.
This camioneta belongs to a carpintero and is packed up as they are about to hit the road and stop in the next city.
Is this kinda like the saying "measure twice, cut once"?
Ahoy!! How would you like to join the Marina (Navy) and then patrol the city, in full gear, in 45,0 grado heat?
Back
home with a pit stop for some bollo…hola to Bubba’s garlic toast!!
910pm
UPDATE…
The
Níño Whisperer was called into duty and all was well until Max rolled over onto
a pillow. Bex went in to fix that situation and all of a sudden the camera view
went empty!!! Where is Max? Hello to boobie #2…a little top off of the tanque
and he should be lights out again…fingers crossed.
I
came home and the familia stepped out. Gotta love the Santa Cruz
Abarrotes…often we grab the Mil Isla dressing there and today Bex SCORED. How
about never seen in Huatulco before…peanut butter M&Ms? And peanut butter
Snickers? Who knew?
Now
these are truly treats the locals won’t be trying. $44 pesos for the package of
6, is almost half a day’s wages for anyone earning minimum wage. For us it
still equates to 55 cents a bar. And yes, we have tested the Snickers…sooo
good.
Here
are some fotos from before Max y madre went out.
This is an "after" foto. When we saw this happening, we quickly removed a camera bag, some DVDs, some Mac items.
Now I need to get those wires out of his reach. Doph.
Max
and I hit the alberca and had some solo float time until we were joined by a
friendly couple from Saskatoon. They met Max back in January and have been gone
for a few months, but have come back for a 3 week vacation.
They
love Max and he put on a vocal show for them today. They are impressed with how
big he has gotten, his cabello rojo, his dunking abilities, and just the fact
that they recognize that he has always been curious about EVERYTHING.
Madre
came down con panale and off we went.
He
needed his 3rd meal of solids for the día and that did not go as well as usual.
We made note that we must give him the “treat”, and in this case it was pear to
gum on, after he has eaten the cereal. Doph.
And
issue #2 was just that…a #2 in his panale!! Ja ja ja
Pit
stopped his panale and then had some wrassling on the big bed and next thing
you know, tiempo para la cena for the padres.
Good
eats…the leftover meatloaf, Bex’s best yet, and some leftover pollo.
Mañana…hola to lomo de cerdo!!
10pm
UPDATE….3 times the charm? We have not had a night like this in a looooong
time. Max is restless. I know he was worried about all the cats in Maple Ridge,
maybe this is causing him some bed time stress?
Anyway,
the day is almost over. Bex is back at work in the oficina while I am on blog y
Max duty.
Mañana?
The race is on at 6pm!!
Last
foto of the day.
After a long and hard day, sometimes you just need to kick back.
Have
a great domingo.
Marco,
Bexico y Max
