Max watching Nascar...but we will get to that later.

Well that was quite a day!!

First off, Feliz Cumpleaños Roly!!

Up at 445am and Tony arrived at 530am on the nose. I knew he would be on time, but had doubts about his amigos.

And true to Mexican fashion, 4 of them arrived an hour late and the captain of the lancha arrived 20 minutes after that. Doph…could have been fast asleep next to mi familia!!

But off we went and here are some fotos to help tell the story.

Leaving the marina, there is a dock with this boat tied up. It is part of the Marina (Marines).

The US Coast Guard is visiting town.

Tony is cruda...hungover. Two hours sleep, hungover and on a lancha? Not my idea of fun.

We trolled away from Santa Cruz for over an hour and had 3 bites, including one sailfish that really jumped out of the water. The sky was getting darker and the olas higher.

And then we had our 4th bite. It was a big fish and the boys worked it for a few minutes before cutting the line. The Captain then asked Tony and I to move from our front seats and below the gunwale. Por que?

Oh yeah, those were some VERY obscura nube and a big a** storm was coming with them. The Captain knew we needed to get out of there fast and he floored it.

It was driving rain and sea, the olas were at least 4 feet high and we were bombing for the first land we could get to. The dos joven were using cut off 2 litro pop bottles as pails to bail the water while Tony was holding onto the rails and trying to hold onto the contents in his stomach.

We found a playa, but the olas were too large to land, so we hit a bahia very near Santa Cruz.

There we waited almost an hour for the rain to stop and the viento to die down.

A very expensive hotel on the hillside.

The very small playa in the bahia.

We tried to leave the cove once, but the olas just past the break were at least 6 feet tall. Tony was frio and had had enough, so he asked the Captain to let us ashore. I thought they would wait it out in the bahia, but instead the lancha gave leaving another try.

Huh? Here we are at the bottom of a cliff, we have to hike up to the road and flag a taxi back to S Cruz? And the lancha is already out of sight? Oh Tony!!

I took some video during this fun time. Click  HERE for the YouTube link.

Tony in his Mexican pose...sin sonrisa....smile.

Or maybe he was wet, cold, tired and hungover? Because here is a smile!!

Then again, the smile could have been because of this.

Our ride back to S Cruz, and from the same sitio that Tony's own taxi belongs to, El Bufadero. Yes, Tony owns a taxi, but leases it out for $200 pesos per día.

After hiking out of the bahia, we hiked for 5 minutes before waiting for the taxi. Here is where we waited.

So after we were dropped off in Santa Cruz where the truck was parked, we met up with the lancha.

The lancha next to ours had a sailfish and due to the weather, it was one of the few boats that came back with anything today.

The next thing I know I am driving the boys home. Four in the camioneta and two sitting on the tailgate…fingers crossed that the tamarindos were taking domingo off.

Mission accomplished and Tony and I headed home so he could grab his moto. Max y madre were out for a walk as the skies had cleared, but were home shortly.

Max and madre went in for their CN and I too hit the sack. The race was going to start soon…but I would have slept right through it if I did not get some zzzzz.

Everyone was lights out and when I awoke I found Max about to hit the JJ and also saw that Tony y 2 hombres had come to get something out of the camioneta

When they saw Max in the JJ, they wanted to come in and see him and say hola, and they were VERY polite about it. Con permiso? Of course!!

So what happens to Max when he has this big audience? Stage fright for a minute or two and then off he went and 3 Mexicans who had never see such a contraption, were all laughing and amazed.

Hasta luego to the boys and then it was time for the race and assist madre with Max during the afternoon. That included a quick FT with mis padres and a Skype with Max’s Ontario abuelos.

Great race and after Max had another nap, we hit the pool. Quiet times there and we all had a good time…hello!!

Upstairs and madre, the otra Niño Whisperer, managed to get Max down for a 4th nap. Huh? Great stuff and I can tell you that he is such a different lil’hombre when he wakes up.

The rutina went off well, but the onion rings I bought were not so good. Might look up how to make our own…but not a fan of the deep frying. Stay tuned.

Max gobbled down a HUGE portion of food para his cena…3.5 tablespoons of cereal and a few spoonfuls of plátanos as well. The lil’monkey loves his bananas!!

Our burgers were great and who knows, we might have to crack into one of the many peanut butter Snickers we both bought. Ja ja ja

835pm and all is quiet…hope Bex did not fall asleep. Doph.

Mañana? El gimnasio and follow up with Roman.

Misc foto.

It is from ayer. I think it is either from when I took Max to the pool, or post sink bath.

Last foto.

Have a great lunes.

Marco, Bexico y Max
