Great news!!

Read THIS if you are old.

As for the day, an awesome day watching our hijo sit himself up and also pull himself into a standing position while in his cuna. I am sure all parents go through this excitement, but it does not lessen what we are feeling about the experience.

I had Max for a few hours this morning and then passed him off to Bex as I had to meet with Randy and his team to discuss Mojon. More on that in a moment.

But first, the cuna fotos.

Nine fotos of Max enjoying life "behind the bars".

Not sure what he is scoping on the ceiling...flexible niño though.

Yeah padre...I'm talking to you!!

You hear that rippie?

Hulking out on the bars.

And from his knees onto his feet.

I think I have seen the light!!

Uh padre...legs getting tired.

Padre?

Thanks for putting the camera down and helping me...not.

When I passed off Max, he was ready for a nap and had been asleep in my arms, but had awoken when I put him into his cuna. Well, I guess he was NOT ready for a nap and it took some doing from madre to make it happen.

The same thing happened again in the afternoon and ended up with Max having his Segundo CN con madre!! Lucky peeps!!

As for the meeting I had, we spent a few minutes reviewing the plans and then 4 of us drove out to Mojon to get an idea on what we are really looking at.

Mañana I am to receive a ballpark figure on what this company would charge to complete the build. We are not expecting a lower price from them, but would be pleasantly surprised. We know they normally build higher end homes and we also know our guy is squeezing the price so he can win the job and be the first to build a really nice casa at Mojon.

So, stay tuned. As for Roman, I just received an email from him and Sergio is away, so no visit to his casa, but we are able to proceed to stage 2, which includes CAD drawings, some facades and some tighter cost quotes. Exciting times.

After we came back from Mojon, I popped into Che to grab some pollo para la cena. When I came out, who was there to greet me? Hola to mi familia!! Max y madre had made the walk to grab some cereal bars and to see if they could hook up with me…and they did.

It was awesome to see the two of them and felt great to see the lil’slingster was excited to see his padre!!

They hitched a ride and we headed home where I got ready for el gimnasio and Max y madre got good use out of the play palace and the JJ.

Amy dropped off more water while Max was in the JJ and Amy had to stop and admire the contraption and say hola to us. I asked how busy he is with the heat and his truck carries 40 garaffons, he normally delivers 120 plus a day and his record is 230. Busy guys in this heat.

I hit the gym where everyone was panting and sweating, and then strolled back through the centro. Grabbed some more pesos and also had a pit stop at Gabriels as I had not seen the boys for a few days.

Fotos from the gym walk.

Check back in a few years.

Amy y Victor stopped by as I was taking these fotos near the cantina.

That is going to be one wild y crazy fiesta!!

Daniel y familia are all well, even though all the maestros have been up in Oaxaca doing their annual protesting, this time it has carried on for over 10 days. Yikes. I heard the big disagreement is that the Oaxacan government wants to set up evaluations for the teachers and they do not want this.

You think the BC education system has opportunities with its teachers? You haven’t seen anything. I hear the teachers syndicate (union) is the biggest, strongest, richest and most corrupt in all of Mexico. Every presidential candidate that the union has backed, wins the election. Hmmmmm.

No word on our fridge shelf. The first one was broken when it arrived in Puerto (or was it?) and now Daniel tells me the tienda has moved the arrival date 2 times. I figure another week and we will see. Stay tuned.

After Gabriels, home time and found the CN in progress. Puttered around and after his ONE hour plus CN, he awoke and the two of us had alberca time for a good 40 minutes!!

And of course we had the pool to ourselves…no complaints!!

Here is Max ready for the pool.

Upstairs to start the rutina and Max was a trooper, but was he ever hungry by the time his leche arrived.

Talking about food…so I got to Santa Cruz Abarrotes and buy some Gerbers platanos as it is one of the few pre-made foods we buy. I grabbed a few jars and the last of the Franks Red Hot sauce. We feed Max some banana during the rutina, only to find out it is Gerber stage 2 food. Huh? Stage 2? That explains why there are so many ingredients in it vs stage 1. Gotta tell you, the stage 1 banana jars look just like the stage 2 jars.

I guess stage 1 eases the niños belly into all the food types…doph. We are not worried as it was only a few tablespoons, neither Bex nor I have food allergies and we watched him for a few hours before he went to sleep. All good…but we will pay even more attention to those deets.

Anyway, Max held tight while we ate our pollo and was lights out after madre topped up his tanque.

Bexico had a busy day, she was on both feet and all 9 toes for most of it!! Cleaned the condo AND spent some quality time in the cocina making some more cubitos of food for Max. On today’s menu for preparation? Peaches, pears y broccoli and mañana she will cook up the potato y manzana. Chef Bex!!

And now? She is up in the oficina working hard on a project.

Last foto of the day.

Mañana…el gimnasio, lunch con Randy y Karen…and meatloaf a la Chef Bexico!!

Hasta mañana.

Buenos tardes.

Mi vida es buena mis amigos...buena.

4pm and Max has just finished a FT with his Victoria abuelos…and live on camera, from in his cuna, for the very first time, he managed to pull himself up from a seated position into a standing position!!

Not bad for a niño who will be 30 weeks old on viernes!!

Max is now pooped and headed to fill his tanque and have a nap. After that? Hola to alberca time!!

810pm, watching some news while Bex tucks in the little hombre. At 9pm Bex will be plugging in the MJ for a chat with a potential client. So I might be taking a blog break soon…unless I speed it up.

Hey…madre had the golden shower today!! Been a while since we had one of those…I was the last lucky recipient!! Ja ja ja

Ok, best part of the day? Taking a nap with Max, and when getting up finding madre waiting for us. Great to see Bex, but the best part? Telling her we enjoyed our almost 50 minute chest nap, only to be told it was actually an hour AND 50 minutes!! Yikes. It was 1115am…the day was half over. Ja ja ja

I guess we both needed the zzz…I felt great after!!

I did have the early shift and we squeezed in our desayunos and a walk. It was a short walk as I knew Max’s nap clock was ticking down, but we still managed to take a pit stop in the zocalo.

Always amazed at the amount of peeps that recognize Max by name, not just as the cutest white niño in Huatulco.

Today as we were walking around centro, Max asked about the “grande casa” and pointed to the iglesia. We had “the talk”…religion and he seems to like what the Dali Lama is all about. Who knew?

Home for the nap…is a 2 hour CN a nap? And after that Bex y Max headed out for a looooong walk and I jumped in the camioneta and headed t el gimnaiso.

I was headed to Che after the gym, thus I took the truck. I tell ya, not having a 18 minute walk in killer heat, sure gives you a lot more energy to work out in the killer heat of the gym!!

Good workout and nice to see Fermin back in the gym.

Wow was Che busy. Big haul, but they were low on meats y pollo as well as still out of our tipo de panales.

No scores but nice to see $822 pesos in groceries is only $65 Cdn mas o menos.

Home for some chill time and when Max awoke from his nap, hola to the pool. Madre has a sore toe, so she is not pool able for the next few days. Want to see a triste madre…it would be Bex not able to join the familia in the pool. Want to see a triste niño…it would be Max looking for his muy tonta (silly) madre in the alberca.

Después de alberca, upstairs for the rutina and that really takes care of the day. Good chuletas con arroz para la cena!!

Fotos?

Padre...the flash?

Did you hear that rippie?

Ok...maybe I did get up too early.

As of two days ago, this is an example of what we spend our days keeping both ojos on.

Only two fotos from the walk. We were greeted by a few tamarindos outside the gates of the complex. Poor hombre had his Jeep hit last night and the driver did not stick around.

We do have Mexican vehicle insurance...a must down here because I bet most locals do not.

915pm and the client didn’t call. Adios to this hombre as this is strike #3!! Bex has earned the right to choose her clients and this guy will not be one!!

So my computer is back…but now I am distracted by Duck Dynasty on the idiot box!!

Misc...sent out an email to get some info about satellite internet services for Mojon. Stay tuned.

Mañana…jueves and I have no idea what’s up. I do know we are having comida con Karen y Randy on viernes…Los Gallos just across the calle.

Last fotos.

The second huge accomplishment in Max's day? He managed to sit up on his own. Here he is examining an example of his latest fixation, tags, and this one is on the regalo from Melon, his Mini Max teether.

Have a great Thursday y hasta mañana.

Buenos tardes.

415pm and a short while ago, Max finished a Skype with his Kitchener Waterloo abuelos, Rolly y RJ “the camera won’t come on” Arnold. Ja ja ja

He then leche’d up and is now fast asleep con Pudge. Madre is on ensalada duty, something she does todos días, and I am updating the day.

Por que so early? Because at 6pm I am meeting Roman and then I will hurry home to catch up with the tina rutina…no sé when I would get around to this update.

Best part of the day? Max was up at 645am and Bexico decided to see if he was hungry before I took the early shift. I kept zzzz and when I opened mi ojos, I see the two of them asleep. Madre was with her asleep with her back against the wall with her hijo in her arms.

That was the best part of the day. Him not waking up again until 745am was just the bonus!!

Due to the fact that he had already napped and leche’d up, it made my morning easy. We had some desayunos and he loves platano!! Added some banana to his cereal y pear mixture, and he gobbled it up. Phew.

Off for a walk and grabbed some more cheapo pesos!! Then off for some more platano duro/verde. Those are for us as the lil’monkey eats Gerber platanos.

Woke up madre and passed over the lil’hombre. Madre had a MJ call with a client at 1pm and it is best if I am around to keep dos ojos on the lil’rascal, so we hung out for a while and had a fun chat.

Today’s topic? Ernie and Bert and if they are gay. The lil’enquirer just wants to know everything. The answer I gave him was “no, I think they are VERY close amigos, and if they were gay, that is ok. I do think the Grouch is bi though”. He agreed and we moved on to some wrestling.

Then it was pool time. Huh? This early in the day? Sí…we had some spare time and were happy to see part of the pool still in the shade, so we had a great time.

It was going to be the 2 boys in the pool…but someone just didn’t want to feel left out!! Ja ja ja

Nap time right before 1pm and madre had her work call and I was out the door right after it was over.

Good walk and el gimnasio was hilarious. I have never seen so many people move in such a slow and deliberate manner, all due to the heat. Good work out and then headed back home the long way.

Pit stop at Jesica plasticos to grab 2 containers that will be used to gather the friggin water that is collecting in the fridge. Going to have to find a better solution. Ugh.

Grabbed some Coca Light for the burgers and a 2.5 litro bottle for mis amigos at the gate. They always appreciate the treats, whether it be a Coke or a bollo from the bakery.

And you are all caught up.

Sunny day until 15 minutes ago when the nube rolled in and the sound of thunder started as well.

Fotos for the day.

First thing this morning, Max was greeted by his personalized Play Palace. Gracias madre!!

Before we went for our walk, some Max Protect & Play.

9am and outside a liquor store.

Eye spy with my little eye....

Iguana con mango.

This one is for you Stuart...miau miau.

No sé por que...2 joven on a bici, pulling a folded up stroller.

430pm, Max is about to wake up and we are headed off to round 2 in the alberca.

Will update you mañana if there is anything exciting that comes out of the reunion (meeting) con Roman.

Hasta mañana.

Buenos noches all.

Lots of rain last night meant that it was quite humid this morning. So much so that you can feel a dampness on the couch…reminder to self…do not wear baseball caps in this weather…they do not dry and end up going moldy.

Great day, but uneventful. Except for any time spent with Max…full of excitement!! The lil’grabber is reaching for anything and everything. Time to niño proof the casa…good luck.

If we can just keep the things that are dangerous away from him, we will have succeeded. And keep the bandaids handy as this lil’adventurer is bound to get a cut and scrape along the way.

How did I score another snug from the lil’furnace? Two mornings in a row? Score!!

But we were up early and this is after the niño whisperer had spent an extra 30 minutes in the sleep room last night. Huh? But it all caught up with him when his first nap lasted almost an hour!!

Not sure what is up with desayunos, but it took almost 30 minutes to get him to chow down. Maybe he needs to eat earlier in his 2 hour window?

But we did have some good bonding time. We ended up talking about the love of snowboarding both Bex and I have, and he is now all stoked up to hit the backcountry and poach some of Melon’s lines. Sorry dude…hijos before amigos. Ja ja ja

Despues de nap, off for the walk and the usual round of holas.

Due to the timing of eats, sleeps and leches tank ups, Max was ready to soak some pies in the alberca. It has been a while since we managed to do that as Max (and I) were normally too hot after the walk and we both needed fluids.

So it was nice to chill’lax and then we headed up and Max y madre hung out.

Me? El gimnasio and then back home where I puttered around during a short rain shower.

This is how I was greeted upon my return from el gimnasio. A site for sore eyes!!

We all hit the pool together and had the friendly abuelos say hola and chat us up before they left us all alone in OUR alberca. Ja ja ja

Upstairs for the rutina and Max gobbled down his bananas and some potato too. Us? Hamburguesa lunes!!

930pm and all is tranquilo in the condo.

Great news for Bexico? How about getting bonuses from an hourly client who was thrilled with her work!! Felicidades!!

Mañana…I am meeting with Roman, but as of now, no time has been set. As well mañana, Feliz Cumpleaños to Kim, esposa de mi hermano!!

Hasta mañana.

Hola!!

540pm…Bex is reading her Kindle and Max had a FT with his abuelos, then a feeding and is now asleep for nap #4.

Dark skies and we just had a short shower…more might be on the way. And to add to that? We also had two tremors today…short ones but the first one gave us a good jolt.

As for the day…I think Max was sleep humping (like sleep walking…but for niños) at 6am..oh Max. So I grabbed the low pillow, put my arm around him and grabbed a foot…the next thing I know it is 7am!! Ah, a great way to start the day.

At 7am..it was no sleep humping…it was the real thing. So up and at’em and started the morning rutina. Hola to peaches y apples para desayunos.

Today we talked about the two races that are happening and then discussed the tradition of the winner of the Indy 500 drinking milk from a glass milk jug. No earth shattering stuff, but the lil’googler is muy curioso!!

All good and at 9am…nap time. After that it was time to top up the tanques and we hit the town. Great to have so many peeps stop to say hola, or to wave from across the calle, or honk their horn and yell out “hola Max”.

Grabbed madre her domingo treat, the croissant, and headed home. Did I mention that the cookies she baked last night were the best one’s she has ever made? And that we finished all of them while watching The King’s Speech on DVD? Great date night!!! Ja ja ja

Short on fotos.

Lots of cars parked here means...

The iglesia is open for business!!

Took a pit stop in the zocalo and then came home and madre took over while padre set up the couch for the first race...which was a great spot from which to take these fotos.

Great race…short siesta…dos treblors. Throw in some pancakes (hotcakes as they call them here) and that was most of the day until pool time.

Earlier pool time then normal and the lil’talker was chatting up a storm. He knows he has a voice box and is practicing all the time!!

But what’s up with the senora sitting in the pool…and smoking around all the niños? Mal educada!! Moving on.

6pm and Max is about to eat some zanahoria…hello to orange poo!! Our dinner will be the rib eyes and then one ojo on the race and the other on tina time…bath time…for Max.

Mañana? Hope to meet up with Roman and discuss Mojon.

8pm and there is a thunder and lightning show happening over the montaña. Curioso to see how this affects the satellite signal. Stay tuned.

Max is being tucked in and I expect to see madre soon.

The rib eyes? Friggin delicious!!

Hope you had a great weekend.

Hola!!

Here is a taste of more to come….keep reading.

I feel like a new man!!! Sleeping in until 9am will do that for you. Is it mi cumpleaños? What did I do to deserve this? Oh…I wore my sleep mask last night…no snoring!! Ja ja ja

Madre took the early one and the two were deeply involved in a CN when I awoke. Due to some extra body parts, madre does not get to fall asleep with the lil’sleeper on her chest. Yo? Lights out when the lil’hombre falls asleep. Still a great feeling either way.

I took over and madre hit the hay. First things first for Max...some time in the Party/Play Palace.

Some teething.

Some posing for the camera.

Left side profile shot. He feels it is his better side.

A few bum lifts to "keep it tight" as he says.

Football pose. I am thinking offensive lineman?

Ready for a sprint...on your marks, get set...

After all that activity, time to cool down with some leche.

After all that activity, there was no walk for the two of us, instead we went to Che and knocked one thing off the to do list. No big scores unless you were Max and had all the school girl aged niñas cooing all over you. Oh Max.

We are stocked up for the weekend and after grabbing some rib eyes on the way home from el gimnasio, la cenas are set until martes!!

Max and I came home and he was on the countdown to nap time. I had to cut the roti pollo before it went in the fridge…would Max hold up? It was close, but with a few minutes left to finish the job, his voice of displeasure woke up Bexico….doph.

I still took charge of the nap and he did not want to go into the cuna. How is it that he is fast asleep in my arms and I am about to put him in the cuna and he starts telling me “no way padre”?

So onto the bed I lay him, built up the walls of pillows (like those are doing us any good now a days) and then I grabbed the computer and sat on the bed next to him.

Hey, a nap is a nap and at 5pm, madre has managed to get him to sleep…in his cuna!! This should be the 4th and final nap of the day. He is such a different hombre después de nap.

I will fill you in on the rest of the day, and show you some fotos when I return. The lil’swimmer is awake and it is alberca time!!

Well, that was a long break. It is now 820pm, Max is asleep, Bex is sending off some files and I am finishing this update.

Back to the day…

After Che I hit el gimnasio and chatted it up with Hector. I guess on his rancho, he has harvested all of his sandia and is now on cacahuate…peanuts.

Oh it was warm in the gym today…everyone, Mexicanos included, was sweating.

Strolled back through the centro, grabbed the rib eyes and hola’d Daniel y familia, who happened to be at Gabriels.

Fotos from the walk.

WFSITBOTT?

50,0 grado heat and a truck FULL of blankets for sale. Huh?

And here we have the ceramic department...and some rambutan for sale as well.

Click HERE if you want to read more about rambutan.

Ah, another of the MANY wheelchair ramps that have been installed around town.

I guess this hombre is not aware of the ramps yet? This is also a very busy road.

Sunny morning...cloudy afternoon.

WFSITBOTT2?

A stackload of sillas de pino.

Came home to an empty house. Huh? The familia was out for a walk and upon their return, nap time for Max and that is where I left off.
So…you are caught up.

We had a blast in the pool. Video as part of the proof.

Looks to me like these dunks don't phase him in the least?

And here are the rest of the alberca fotos.

Max y padre headed to the alberca. Max is in his new shirt...stylin!!

Max y madre.

After the pool, upstairs to start the rutina and Max was a trooper while we fed him and then while we ate our dinner.

And that is the day.

Seems like it might be date night…Bexico is making some cookies and then we might stay up late and watch a DVD!!! Ja ja ja

Mañana…race domingo!!

Last foto?

Taken from underwater looking up, as Max is looking for his padre underwater.

Hope you are all having a great weekend.

Marco, Bexico y Max
