No fotos again? Lo siento.

830pm and we managed to grab the signal…hola Deb Hope!! Bexico is in her oficina and I am working on the sham wow (sin fotos) blog, while examining what remains of the hair on my legs. Huh?

Gas stove…it was lit and when I smelled gas, I opened it and the pilot was out. Did I let it air out first before I re-lit? Uh no. A loudish whoomp, the smell of charred hair and one dumb a** Bubba!!

All good…minus some body hair.

Other then that, a good Friday here in Huatulco. Max was up earlier then what we have experienced for the past few days, but the great news is that we had almost zero grunting!! Translation…easy going poo. Ja ja ja

I had the early shift so at 9am I hit the sack for some more zzz and then awoke for our 10am cita with Roman.

But of course 10am in Mexico means 1040am. Ja ja ja Roman was on time, it was the door maker who was late. And then after the first attempt at installing, they left to make some adjustments due to the shower wall not being straight. Me? I look at that when I come in for the initial measurements?

So “back in 15” turns into back in 60 and we now have a great door on a shower…that needed a door in the first place!! Thanks again to N&A for picking up the tab.

Some Roman news regarding the FZ etc? Ok…here it is.

We have a guy who will do the FZ work for $13k pesos. It will take 5 days and show us exactly where the FZ starts in relation to our property.

What is so important about the FZ? Like all beach front hotels, you need permission to build on the FZ. There is a chance that some or none of our property sits in the FZ. If it does, we will know how much does and how that would affect our build plans.

Maybe we don’t have anything that would be in the FZ anyway..all good. Maybe we need some retaining walls etc, and then we would need to submit a request for permission and that will cost $30k pesos more pesos, take 15 days to complete and you generally hear back from the Federal Government in a year.

But meanwhile…you would proceed with all your other planning etc.

If you do NOT get permission and say you build a pool…the government can come and confiscate your pool. Not smart when a lease for a 30mx30m lot would only be $100 CDN a year.

And after we know about the FZ? Then we move on to design, environmental study and then transfer of land use. And then? Break ground!!!

Costs of the enviro and transfer of land use? Not cheap. I am told that the price is the same for all land sizes as well as for the companies conducting this service. It will be $50k pesos for EACH…plus a fee to the enviro arm of the government….AND a fee to the arm in charge of and use changes. Around $130k pesos total…$10,000 CDN mas o menos.

The $100k pesos goes to the engineers, but the rest is a money grab from the government. Oh well.

Everyday I am taking fotos of Mojon ideas…the casas will be simple Mexican designs, but with all the comforts of home. Stay tuned.

At almost 1pm we all headed out for a walk. Me to el gimnasio and the plan was for Max y Bex to go to Jesica’s and pick up a bath toy for Max.

We stopped to look at the rocking chairs, then pit stop at Consturama to show Bex the tiles I had looked at, and then off to Similar Farmacia to pick up some pro-biotics for Bexico.

Max was losing interest in the walk…what? In a stroller with his own fan? Any way, we stopped at a Mercado across the street and Bexico found a ball for the bath. While she was shopping, Max was attracting senoritas!! Two young ladies politely asked if they could touch him…first time anyone has asked.

So the answer was yes and they loved him…hello!!

Bex took Max home…and did not make it ½ way before he decided he would rather be carried vs pushed in the stroller. Doph. Oh Max.

I hit the gym and then a quick walk through town. Mañana is the big 18th birthday for Samuel. I understand that he will then become a senor? En serio…seriously.

Home to find Bex working on Max. Both a tummy rub and trying to get him to sleep. She was successful on both accounts and that meant that I was headed to Che solo.

No big ah-ha’s…unless you call pickles a score!! Mexicoism? A 5 litro bottle of laundry soap costs $135 pesos. But you can buy three 2 litro bottles (6 litros total) for the same precio. Guess what I did.

But…do NOT buy cans of green peas. They taste baaaad. Surprised as the cans of elote dorado (corn niblets) are the best we have ever head. Sorry Green Giant!!

But good news from Che? The caja managed to get my Amex to work. I guess instead of using the chip (she tried and it did not work), she just swiped it and ta-da. Hello travel points!!

Headed home and it dawned on me that I had previously mentioned that we have only one traffic light in Huatulco. That is incorrect. We do have two….doph…but one hasn’t been working since the power outage of a few days ago.

Put away the groceries, ate my salad and then strapped Max on so we could go out and buy a roti. Che roti’s were still 30 minutes away, so I went to our local spot on Bugambilia.

But first max and I hola’d a bunch of peeps on the way to Gabriels. I cannot tell you how many people stop to say hello, or comment on the gafas or on how Hermosa Max is!!

Saw the team at Gabriels and warned Vicky to be tranquilo before she touched Max!! ja ja ja She laughed and there are no hard feeling between us.

Grabbed the chicken and on the way home (if we had not stopped, the whole walk would have been 10 minutes) we saw a niño who was the same size as Max…but max is 3 months old today and the niño was one year old!!! Then we saw a 3 month old niño who was about ½ the size of Max. Hello leche de madre!! Our niño is NOT going to be a small guy!!

Home and it was time for Max’s bed time routine. Madre managed to get him asleep and we ate our dinner….and you are all caught up.

No Mojon plans for the weekend…going to hang around the condo complex with the geezers!! Ja ja ja

Max and I do have a few iChats scheduled this weekend…he had a good one with mis padres today.

Hope the foto issue is resolved soon…or we will start the blog on a new site!!

Buen fin de semana!!

Marco, Bex y Max
