Buenos Noches mis amigos!!
So we were not able to receive canal 5 tonight…so no Global BC news at 8pm. But we did see on CBC that another Canadian has been killed in Mexico.

(1045pm update....these might be peeps that were missing from Huatulco. The Van Sun says their car was found in Oaxaca and the bodies of the girl and her novio were found here in Huatulco...also states it was drug related....stay tuned...and DON'T worry!!!)
That is terrible and leaves another black eye on Mexico. I want to assure all of you that our little hamlet in Mexico is very safe, we feel at ease here and have no issue in our town, day or night.
But yes, there are places in Mexico we will NEVER go to, just as there are places in Canada and the USA that I may drive through, but will not stop and would definitely not live there.
From CBC.ca, here is a clip from a story they did in January 2011. One killing is too many, but as you can see, there are countries with worse records then Mexico.
In 2009, Canadians made more than 1.4 million trips to Mexico, a figure that includes both same-day and overnight travels, according to figures from the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
That year, 14 Canadians were assaulted and three killed in Mexico, according to official reports.

But now, lets move on to better topics…like our day!!

Max was up at 5am and that meant I was too. After his feeding and change, we slept until 9am and I gave him a bottle, allowing madre a few extra minutes of zzzzz time.

Here are some fotos of Max in his conejito swing, post-bottle.

The blanket arrived mid shoot as it was chilly (yes chilly) in the living room.

These are fotos of Max giving me the evil eye after I left him to go grab some breakfast for myself.

Mom woke up with Max starring at her…she loved it. She got up and went into Max duty time and I got ready for el gimnasio.

As I left the compound, a horn honks and it is Galdino waving and yelling “hola Marco”…welcome to my world!! Today I saw 4 or 5 peeps I have become regulars with.

945pm update…Max is asleep…swaddled of course. Anyone out there no why my hijo can be awake, but when I lay down next to him and put my nose next to his nose, he is asleep in 5 minutes?

Overall he is great…we think he was wired today and thus needy. He was too wired to review his numbered cards with him. We are working on the numbers 1 to 10 with pictures and the words. We are trying it in ingles y español. Stay tuned.

He still has the gas issues and some days it is only 5am-9am and then there are days like today where he had some gas on and off during the day. Something about a 9 week old niño farting, makes me laugh.

Back to our day.

Fotos from the walk to el gimnasio and then home.

Paleta salesman chatting up the restaurant owners. Bex loves the sopa they sell there.

Garrafon de agua...$19 pesos for 19 litro.

How do you ask a guy's name after you have been chatting with him for several months? On my to-do list!!

Today's clima...low nube in the moñtana.

Based on uniform only, this school might work for Max.

Dos hombres con dos perroitos.

Bex and I after our walk around town.

Wash day. Loved the colors.

At the gym I had a great work out…no Hector. Ja ja ja

Heard a great song on the stereo and had jane write out the artista y nombre de cancion…but could not find it in iTunes. I will double check with her mañana.

No walk around town as it was Mojon day!!

Max was gassed up so we hung about and worked on him for a while and then hit the road around 1pm. No stopping at Copalita…4 times in a row. Not sure if the militar are up to something….or not up to something if you know what I mean!! Ja ja ja

Super day at Mojon. Nice breeze and Bexico had a few goes at the boogie board. Me? Shell hunting and had a good haul.

Max seems to enjoy the sights and sounds and in a few months we will be able to test sunscreen on him (allergies I am told) and then slowly get him onto the playa and into the oceano.

Meanwhile…for Max it is hola to the buggy in the shade and sitting on our laps as we lounge in our beach chairs. He did not complain and seems to enjoy the boogie board change table!!

Fotos from Mojon.

Padre Bubba out looking for shells.

Hit the road at 430pm…a good stay with our lil’hombre. We have the packing down pat…cooler, knapsack, diaper cammo bag and Bexico’s beach bag. The chairs and buggy are in the back of the truck and so loading and unloading is quite easy.

That being said…we still dream about the day when Mojon has happened. Stay tuned.

Home and then I went to the bakery for some baguette. Por que? Hello garlic bread!! I found some garlic salt at Che and did it work on the baguette? Hello!! Score!! If we do that too often it will mean an extra session at el gimnasio!! Ja ja ja

Hit the alberca to take a shower and rid myself of the arena from the playa…but no running water. No sé por que.

So I took a dip in the pool and then came upstairs to use our shower. I tell you…we need a new pool guy as our pool is sucio…dirty. Mainly leaves etc, but still no fun. I know the guy…Beto, who works next to Gabriel the Owl.

Remember? He cleans 6 pools and works from 5am until 10pm every day. Yikes.

Great dinner…pasta and eat sauce and then the routine started…and you are all caught up.

To do’s…second cable on the dish…chat up Roman…start looking into Max’s FM3…take down the luces de Navidad. All mañana…Mexican mañana that is…which just means tomorrow, or the day after, or the day after that, or…

Mañana is Dia de los Reyes…a whole lot of rosca around town. I chatted up Silverio about the rosca…good guy and he has appreciated all the too small clothing for Max, that we have given him.

Our mañana? Nothing out of the ordinary is currently planned. We are thinking about burger domingo though!!

So, we end today with one last foto. For the first time in 9 weeks, I saw a face on Max that truly reminded me of myself. What do you think?

Hasta mañana mis amigos!!
