Hola everyone!!

Well, we had a change of plans today. Por que? Porque Max tiene una infección in his ojo. Huh? Eye infection. Doph.

He awoke with some stuff verde…green stuff and it was evident it was infected. Funny (but not ha ha) that we cancelled last night’s cita with the pediatra, only to awake with the need to see a doctor!!

We know the pediatra only has night time cita, so we called our OB, who also deals with any issues niños might have. But he doesn’t deal with the items covered in a regular 2 or 4 month checkup. Huh? Oh well.

First appointment available was 7pm. That wouldn’t do, so we called the doctor at home!! He is a great guy and very accommodating. 1130am he says…we know that means 1215pm and that it did.

We were at the oficina for 1130am and the nurse who takes temperatures when you check in, LOVED Max. She had to take him to weigh him (7550 gramos…16 lbs and 10 oz) and seemed like she didn’t want to let him go!! As witnessed by these fotos!!

And then Max gave us the "uh enough" look. Ja ja ja

Then Dr Carillo’s wife came and told us all about their 3 week vacation in Florida as well as commenting how big and hermoso Max is!! Hello!!

1215pm…right on expected time, we were in the oficina and after 45 minutes, other then an eye infection, Max had a clean bill of health. Dr C loves kids and was happy to see a big 3 month old niño, one that can hold his head up as well as almost move one foot in front of the other (while being held up).

Medicina? Maxitrol gotas…drops…every 4 hours for day 1 and then every 6 hours for the next 6 days. Hoping to see some improvement mañana, as even though Max does not look in discomfort, his sad eye makes us feel sad for him.

Tried to get the gotas at Similar…same products, cheaper prices is their catch phrase…but they did not carry the product. So off to Farma Pronto and $275 pesos later…ta-da.

We were all finished up and home for 1pm, too late for our Mojon run, so I was off to el gimnasio and Bexico hung out with Senor Max.

Here are the other fotos from the excursion to el doctor.

Max aka Gilligan, headed out into the monsoon?

Naaaah...sol protection!!

At the oficina...but not too thrilled.

Right on schedule for his 1130am nap

Bubba y Max...con snow mitts so he does not scratch his ojo

Max’s early day wasn’t that early. He went to bed last night at 730pm and had a feeding and some tnt (toss n’turn) but wasn’t awake until almost 8am!! He must have been tired from fighting with this infection!!

Here are Max y madre before the day started.

We hung out for a while and he managed to grab a cat-nap before the doctor, a quick one at the doctors, and then another later in the afternoon!! Madre Bexico has done a GREAT job getting him geared up for these naps. He now expects them and almost like clock work is lights out!!

El gimnasio? Low energy day…quick workout and was headed home when I saw Tony from Nissan. He of the 4 months of worker’s comp and then took 2 weeks vacation. I knew something was “up” and sure enough…Tony took his vacation and is quitting Nissan to work with his padre.

Good for him as he will make more $$ that way.

He will be at Nissan for a few more days and later this week (maybe jueves), I will take the camioneta in for the clutch fan cambio…change.

8pm update…no Global today (maybe mañana if Carlos/Charlie fixes us up) so we are into CTV. Bex went down for a few 8pm laps in the alberca and is back, about to head to her oficina.

La cena was quick and easy…some ensalads and pechuga de pollo. Oh…and throw in some garlic toast!! The best part of la cena? Cracked open one of the Kraft (yes Kraft) 1000 Island dressings I brought down from Nogales Arizona. Yummy!!! Ja ja ja

Back to the day…

Came home after el gimnasio and other then a quick dip in the pool, it was relax time with Max.

Here are the rest of the fotos of the day.

Una brisa fuerte...a strong breeze taking the pollo smoke across town

What are these 4 hombres up to?

They were pulling new MegaCable (TV) cable. Honest...I walked 2 blocks and the cable they were pulling was moving overhead. New term for manual labour.

Carpintero

Idiot. I thought the camioneta was out of gas due to the gas cap being open. But...the idiot parked in the middle of the road to take his laundry in. Uh...dangerous?

Far from a record. Only 3 peeps on this moto.

Not sure what tomorrow brings….stay tuned.

But the Canucks game starts in 35 minutes!!

Buenos noches mis amigos.

What the hey? Max slept from 7pm until 2am, had some eats and then slept again until 7am? Sure there was some moaning and groaning (from him…dirty minds!!) between 6am-7am, but wow…good for you mi hijo!!

I took him at 7am to let madre get some more zzzz, gave him a change and we hung out for a while. It was then decided that we would go for a walk and we strapped him up and hit the condo complex, as well as a quick walk around centro.

And no less then 10 peeps wanted to say hola to Max!!

Here are some fotos from that walk.

Flora on the complex grounds.

Palm tree in the sprinkler

8am and no one at the pool...but the pool cleaning hombre.

The big trucks from Oaxaca had arrived with the fresh verdura y fruita.

This Fontaur hombre was setting up to paint cross walks on calle Carrizal.

And after the big trucks arrive, the camionetas pick up stock for the smaller tiendas (stores)

This is one way to ensure no one climbs on your balcony

The new gato on the complex. I introduced him/her to Max. He seemed interested.

Back home by 845am and it was nap time, so we went in and gave Max to the NapMaster…Bexico. She doesn’t mind waking up if it means giving Max a nap!!

And a bonus…they both caught some more shut eye!! Oh Bex!!! ja ja ja

We did a condo clean up and then I hit el gimnasio. A great workout and here are some fotos.

"place of vaccinations"...set up on the side of the road

Outside el gimnasio...un pájaro

This is Raphael, the mecanico, on the way to exchange some auto parts

One way for a padre to take his hija home from escuela

And here is how this madre does the same task. What? Helmets?

I have discovered the Bon Ice graveyard

WFSITBOTT?

Pictures of the Virgen

And 7 years of bad luck if you break these

I am sure these are hijas of the owner, and here they are setting up a basket full of for sale items...so the 3 of them could play

Headed to the centro and caught up with Daniel. He offered to go with us to the pediatra, but we have decided that Max is healthy and the “books” don’t call for a 3 month visit. We will ask him to join us for the 4 month fun!! But good for Bexico calling el doctor and making the cita…all in español!!

Here is a foto of Daniel Jr…he is a character!!

Came home and found Max napping…so I headed to Che. No ah-ha’s…but found azucar glass…icing sugar. This will be used as Bexico continues the domingo baking theme and will work on home made icing. As for proximo domingo…hello SuperBowl…but also macaroons!!

But how come my Amex card did not work at Che today?

After Che, Bexico did some laps in the alberca as Max was still zzzz and then I went down and did some of my own.

Bexico had Max asleep on her lap…he seemed to have moved from his cuna to her lap…and after we woke up, she stepped out to buy some verdura, let Daniel know we had cancelled the cita, and she took some of my workout shorts to the telas. How much to get a few machine stitches put into the waistband? Hello $15 pesos!! And ready mañana.

Bex came home and it was time for Max’s 6pm routine. 715pm currently and madre is working on getting him to sleep. Not sure how that will go after his 2 plus hour nap!! Doph.

A mish mash for la cena. Left overs for Bex and some Sloppy Jose for me. Mañana might be pizza or more salchicha!!

Also looks like a Mojon day mañana and Nissan y satellite on miercoles.

You are caught up!!

Misc STORY from LA Times.com about a place Bex and I have been to before.

Hola...again!! 235pm and our casa smells wonderful because Bexico is baking a cake!! Something to be said about it being 30 grados plus outside and a horno at 350 grados!!

And how did this cake turn out? Soooo good!!!

If you are interested, there are more fotos in the enero 28 blog entry, which is right below this entry.

Currently listening to the sweet sound of peeps recycling their vidrio...glass. The only "issue" is that the guys at the gate must think the peeps here are heavy boozers as the amount of glass that comes down every day...is HUGE. (There are some heavy and heavy boozers)

Bexico just had a short alberca time and is feeding Max the Machine. Max has had a FT with mis padres and spent some more time on his Baby Einstein. But now...he needs a nap!!

Normally there are very few fotos on a domingo, but these have been saved up due to the upload issue...so it becomes Foto Domingo!!

Bexico y Max...hmmmm?

Here is Max all secure antes his short walk with madre y padre.

And Bexico checking out the fishing rods.

And the guy who is selling the rods y mecedoras, checking out Bexico!!! ja ja ja

Corona Iguana

Un padre y su hijo en una bici

These are Telmex trucks. I thought maybe the slow speed was due to all the wires on the ground!!

From outside Gabriels. Not quite the Baby Bjorn sling...

The senorita was a very short lady and even though she was wearing very Western clothing, Lalo tells me that she would be from the montañas. She was selling bookmarks and back scratchers made of pino.

WFSITBOTT?

Some locally grown flora.

This WFSITBOTT was getting some work done on Raphael's calle.

Not sure what these are. Blowers from secadoras or maybe air con units?

Comedors.

3pm and max is asleep...yea madre!! I am headed to the alberca and we will take him down despues de nap. Here he is, another day, at the pool.

He enjoys the pool and isn't as cold as he used to be, being able to stay in for almost 15 minutes. We do bring him into the sunnier sections of the pool, where it is warmer, but still shade him from el sol.

As for the peeps at the pool...they all love his gafas and always ask where Max is!!

From ayer...nap time.

Madre y Max upstairs in the oficina. Note the low slanted wall/ceiling behind them. It has been the cause of a few head butts...argh.

Max being pinned down by the familia.

Last foto of the day?

Check out this $1400 peso puerta de la ducha!!

UPDATE....730pm and Max is asleep!!

Max loved his alberca time and then we (him and I) had a power nap from 430pm-515pm and then we all followed our Max routine of his bath, massage and then number cards (he is learning 1-10).

Ah-ha's...he peed on madre again. And the kid can belch...not burp, but belch. ja ja ja

Warmer evening....makes for fun with an oven full of pollo. All these things go into our Mojon planning...must ensure the cocina is cross ventilated!!

La cena in 30 minutes...watch the end of The Good Wife, and then I am calling it a day. Bexico is pooped...probably needs a nap...but will probably hit her oficina and do some work. Currently she has work based in NY, and projects for repeat clients from Australia y England. Busy gal!!

Nothing planned for mañana. Still on the list is Inmigracion, Nissan and Carlos/Charlie the satellite guy. He was supposed to come over last week...but we had no phone due to the power outage.

Have a great week.

saludos
