What a fun day!! Bexico and I cannot believe it is December 1…only 24 days until Navidad!! We were having our alberca time and it really just dawned on us….going to be a bit (hee x 3) weird on Dec 25 being in Mexico vs experiencing snow or rain.
RJ, did you have a bueno cumpleanos? Bexico’s presents from Mexico via Victoria will arrive soon!!
Some weather stats for you. Since September 29, there has been 1 minute of precipitation occur in La Crucecita during my waking hours. The average daytime temperature in November fell one degree to 31.3 and the night temperature fell from 24.8 in October to 22.7 last month. Brrrrr. Winter is close.
A tranquil start to the day. Went to the gym and took a photo of this large truck selling its goods.
The parque that I pass on the way to my gym always has peeps selling their goods. These bags of naranjas (oranges) y verdes (greens…lol) were popular and many people stopped to buy them.
No escolar with Rosa today, but she did stress to me that the tv program on canal 65 every noche a 8pm, is for idiots and the ninos are terrible people. The show? Jersey Shores. Lol. Ayer she gave me the info (8pm canal 65) but no reference as to why the info. Even today we both agreed the show is basura, but not sure why she wanted me to know this.
Walked home and stopped in to see the boys. They are gearing up for more Canadian tourists…their #1 source of income. The cruise ships have not been so good to them this year. The boys told me the festival that ends December 12 is very important to the religious people in Mexico. I must do some research and find out what history is. Even Rosa said it would be good for me to attend and take some photos.
Alberca time and then we did go see the movie, and it was not bad. Called The Town in Ingles and renamed (not translated) Atraccion Peligresa in Mexico. Some good action and other then the first 10 minutes being a bit (hee x 3) blurry (in theatre technical problem), the other 5 people in the audience kept it quiet for a change!!
Here is a link to the trailer, Espanol subtitles included!!
After the movie we went to the plastico store where they have a great display of trees for sale. It is evident that the Mexicans love Christmas and that we are truly only 24 days away. The tree we wanted was sold out, so we bought the floor model, and the same thing happened with the lights.
It is currently a Charlie Brown tree, but once Bexico adds the lights, it will be great!! A tree and lights for $156 pesos!!
Here is how they display and sell many of the light strands. None of the 25 watt (etc) type of light strands, they are all the small bulbs.
Now the fun part was having the helper explain that they were sold out, but offering us the last one (no mas? was my pregunta) and then trying to explain that they did not need to put the floor model tree back in the box…BUT we did want to take the box with us. All in Espanol y Spanglish!! Crazy gringos!! lol
Our plan is to have the tree in the condo and then take it with us to Palapa de Dos Conejos on December 25 and then open presents and swim in the oceano off Mojon!! Photos will be taken and posted!!!

Good score on the way home from the plasticos store. Bexico looked so good carrying this tree around and patiently waiting as I went into two grocery stores. The score? Jumbo size 1000 Island Dressing!! What is #1 rule of grocery shopping in Huatulco? If you see something you like, buy lots as it may not be back in stock for quite a while. Those pickles we bought last week? Sold out!!
Also hit the banco cajero (ATM) on the way home. Not sure if this is a Mexicoism or not, but it asks you how much you want to withdraw, up to $3000 pesos in $50 peso notes. If you enter 0 it will ask you if this is correct. I then enter NO and then enter that I want $5000 pesos and it provided me that (vs the $3000), all in $500 peso notes. Strange? Banking quote in Espanol regarding security…”ni a otras personas su nip”. Anyone know what a nip is? Numero Identificacion Personal!!
La cena? Chili con carne y elote dorado y frijoles!! Spicy!! I cooked it up this morning, as it is much cooler to cook at that time of day.
Now I update the blog and at 10pm it is TV time for Bexico…The Good Wife…esta noches!!
The newly repaired ventilador pedestal worked well until I needed to move it to the bedroom. The motor housing was caliente and when I plugged it back in, it would not work. I could hear the motor trying to go and when I gave the fan a spin, it took off. My thoughts? Similar to the Nissan, it is a resistor issue, as the motor housing stays cool when the fan is on full. A nuevo fan is only $300 pesos…so I am not going back to get this one looked at again.
Manana? Bexico is up early for yoga, at 10am we need to find out who Molly’s drug addicted novio shot (on Felicity reruns) and other then the gym and alberca time, I will probably have the tire looked at before we go to Puerto on Viernes.
Manana is also this guys birthday.
Anyone know whom I am referring to?
Hasta luego!!
