Happy Martes to all!!
It has been a tranquile Tuesday here in Huatulco. Weather forecast for the next 5 days? Sunny and 30 degrees during the day and 20 at night. Brrrr…frio.
Our day started early for Bexico who was off to yoga for 8am. I left at 1045am for the gym and passed Daniel on the way. A hola and a buenos dias and a large smile from my amigo.
Here is a photo from the walk to the gym. It could go in either the new “what’s wrong with this picture?” series, or the “what are they selling out of the back of this truck?” series.
I thought that perhaps they were setting up some ropa for sale, but the same display mannequins were like this when I walked home 2 hours later.
Had a great work out and spent some time talking to Rosa about what we saw on Ruta 200 ayer. The runners and bikers are probably headed to Rio Grande for a big festival manana. Rio Grande is about 30km norte of the aeropuerto while the gathering in Mexico City attracts thousands of pilgrims.
Ghimbeli and Logan stopped by and we had a laugh together. He appreciated me sending him his photo.
On the way home, I saw these guys again.
Yup, that is a metal shelf he is selling.
We actually saw the ladder guys in Puerto ayer, same type of setup including the ladders, dusters and chalkboards.
I stopped at the Home Depot and picked up a pair of 18 inch cortapernos, bolt cutters, which I will use on the palambre de puas at Mojon.
Quick hello to Sergio at Gabriels and then it was alberca time. Pool was empty and quiet…for a change.
Spent the late afternoon on email etc and then we went to the veggie store for a HUGE haul!! Bexico is making her world famous guacamole and some pico de gallo for our dinner manana with Rick and Heidi…as well as Jay and Krista.
La cena was a mish mash as I had a left over chorizo quesadilla, some ensalada as well as left over pasta con chorizo, while Bexico munched on a jacket potato (Google it…or as they say in Mexico, Goog-lee it) and some ensalada. Jueves…back to cerdo y papas!!
A few loose ends to blog about…
Here is the beautiful Charlie Brown arbol de Navidad!! Bexico worked wonders.
No photo but we saw an albino Mexican ayer.
Driving in Mexico and why we avoid the highways at night. The highway is one lane in each direction and through the mountains, there are not too many straight stretches. This means people tend to pass slower vehicles and large trucks whenever they feel it is safe. Coming home from Mojon semana pasada, we were driving and rounded a corner to see a car coming at us in our lane as it attempted to pass a truck. Options were hit the brakes and/or veer right. We did both and the car cut off the truck…a disaster was averted by a few feet!!
Last but not least…our new neighbor downstairs. We leave our front door open for the breeze and all of a sudden there was a “hello” and then this older lady opened our screen door and stepped in. She could not get into the condo below us and was sure it was the correct condo she had rented.
She asked us if we knew the owner of her condo, we said we didn’t. She asked if we knew another couple, we didn’t. Then she mentioned a third couple we did not know and she stated: “I guess you have not been doing your rounds “. Ruder. Like we spend our time trying to meet and get to know all the geriatrics that live and or vacation here. Not so simpatico Canadiense!!
Jueves I am headed to meet with Lanny, the builder of Senor Pucks. The talk will be about construccion costs, environmental studies etc in regards to Huatulco. He seems to be a very successful Canadian developer, a good source of information.
One of mi amigos has too much time on his hands. We think he is stalking us via Googlee Map. Lol
Big dump at Whistler over the next few days…keep dumping through to January!!
You are all up to date!!
Hasta luego.
