Howdy all!! 925pm and Senor Max has been “baby whispered” to sleep. We followed the routine of bath, change, swaddle and song…but he wailed!!
So all I did was keep calling his name in different tones and after 10 minutes of the world falling apart….zzzzz. And then he fell asleep too!!! Just kidding. But seriously, he is lights out!!
His night was good…not great. Asleep at 9pm, up at 3am for eats and then 3am-5am was some moaning about his tummy.
I grabbed him at 5am and we did our routine…eats in the living room and then onto my chest in the spare room. Lights out and madre Bexico checked on us at 7am and got us up at 9am!!
Hard working Bex did not go back to sleep at 7am, but instead did some work in her oficina!!
Up and at em…quick desayunos and then headed here.
This is Bexico y Max as we left the compound.
He loves his buggy and fell asleep in it. We also figured out how to fold it and took it to Mojon where he spent most of the day in it…staring at the world from the comfort of his castle!!
Max and I at el doctors.
And tranquilo Max. Everyone loves his pequeño ventilador!!
Ok…the doctor’s visit…the pediatra.
The doctor rushed in at 1015am for our 10am cita, but asked us to come in right away.
Small one room oficina and as prepared as we were, the language thing was still a hic-cup. But…wow did Bexico do well talking with the doctor. We agreed she would do the chatting and I am glad she did as I would have known some palabras, but Bexico does so much better with the sentences…thus we are a great team.
The best quote from el doctor? In español he asks if we speak French because our español is horrible!! Ja ja ja But at the end of the cita, he said we spoke well for the amount of time we have lived in Huatulco.
The doctor first took down some info…Max’s, Bexico’s and then mine. He understood that in Canada a doctor is expected to ask some specific questions at the 2 month checkup, and as we had translated them for him, he asked them.
Based on our answers and his physical exam of Max, he has passed with flying colors…what does that phrase mean?
Anyway, all good…phew!! Max has added 1cm in height and is now at 58cm and clocks in at 6500 grams (14.3 pounds), having put on 6.3 pounds since he was born!!
Based on the growth chart our midwives have given us, he is in the 85th percentile for weight, and just over average for height.
The doctor was thrilled that Bexico was feeding him only boobie milk…it does not happen often here as the madres are not eating enough of the correct foods.
We discussed the different prices of “snip snip” in Canada vs Mexico. He says it is very raro here, thus muy caro at $14,000 pesos or over $1000 Cdn. Dr P. was a deal compared to that price!!
The doctor gave us a nice printed out copy of the results of the exam, gave us his phone information in case of emergencia and then stated, “call 24 hours a day….if I don’t answer, send me a text”!!
What got the doc the most excited? Knowing we are both working out at the swanky gym…at least for this week!!
So all said and done, we like this guy and will go back in 30 days for another exam general. Only $400 pesos and worth the peace of mind.
We strollered home and then I hit el gimnasio for a quick workout antes (before) Mojon.
Good work out, good equipment…but you are working out in the rich peeps gym.
Fotos from the walk to and from el gimnasio.
Peeps and more peeps.
The Mexicans have a word for these sun shades....but I cannot recall it. Daniel told me that umbrellas for lluvia are black. I just liked all the colors the 3 senoritas had about them.
Interesting car ornament.
Came home and Bexico had already loaded some gear into the camioneta, and after a pit stop to change (myself and the seat in the Conejito swing…which was poopy….oh Max), we were on the road.
No stop at the military…coming or going. Maybe they are pooped themselves with all the cars coming and going for the Christmas vacations?
Set up at Mojon and I sprayed for hormigas, reattached the hammock, hung a clothes line, refastened down some of the timber used to make the palapa frame (con alambre galvanizado) and….set us up for Fin de Año!!
That is going to one good bonfire!!
Here is the Max in the buggy series. What a character!!
Madreplaya and in the oceano series.
Misc Mojon fotos.
The oceano taketh away in septiembre...
And giveth back 2 feet of arena (sand) in diciembre.
We had a great time at our playa and long for the days where we don’t need to pack up and lug everything back to town.
So, we packed up and lugged everything back to town, stopping at Nissan to confirm my brake pads have arrived and they have. I am all set for mañana at 10am.
Home and unpacked. Bexico went into Max feeding mode and I went for a pool shower and a dip…amongst no less then 30 peeps. Wow was it crowded…another reason for our casas to be built at Mojon!!
Not hating…but looking forward to next week when it quiets down again.
We ate our ensaladas and then did a quick walk to grab some misc items for Max. No Daniel to say hola to…but happy to see Vicky treat Max as a niño and not try to toughen him up!! Ja ja ja
Home and dinner plans changed as the cerdo was still frozen. Argh. Oh well…mañana!!
I ate leftovers and Bexico had some sopa…all good.
And that folks, was pretty much our day.
Mañana…I really want to find someone to find me a satellite signal…not like I have a ton of time to watch the tube. Heck…new BluRay player and we have watched only two videos!!
As well, time to plug in MJ and ensure my Rogers contract is cancelled come enero, y call DHL about the cost of shipping that MUCH needed clutch fan!!
Throw in there el gimnasio and that will be a full jueves!!
No Corona Bar today…I must venture back into the other sections of town as there are NO bars on the walk to the swanky gym!!
But…we leave you with two more Mojon/Max photos. We needed a change table and what works better then a boogie board?
Padre? Padre!!
It is a bit (heex4) breezy here!!
Have a great jueves all!!
Marco, Bexico y Max
