Hola…and happy Boxing Day…a truly foreign idea as no Mexicans have any idea what we are talking about.
It was a good day….Sir Max Poops A lot managed to sleep from 9pm until 5am with only one feeding at 3am!! Wow. He then awoke at 5am and it was my turn to take him out of the room, feed him and take care of his sore belly.
Only ½ a bottle and then we hit the spare room where he lay on my chest and slept until 9am!! Bexico was up at 8am and let us sleep, and actually managed to get some oficina time in before the house stirred!!
No holding back for Max this morning and that meant a quick “jail house” shower in the kitchen sink!! Ja ja ja
We will clean those up several times a day if it means our hijo does not have to suffer through the gas pains!!
We all had some desayunos and then I headed to Huatulco Fitness…the swanky gym here in Huatulco!! How swanky? Almost ALL the weights are in kilos vs a mix of kilos y libras!! Ja ja ja
And for that, they charge the pricey sum of $450 pesos/mes compared to $250 ($300 starting primero de enero) pesos at the gym I go to.
A bit snobby for my liking, but with my gym cerrado until January 2, gotta do what ya gotta do.
It is a shorter walk and not as interesting, but here are some fotos from the walk to and from el gimnasio.
A palm tree on the complex ground, with our weather in the background.
Probably not this week...but MI4 on next weeks 2:4:1 night? Hello!!
And not this year...but Max and I riding a Ferris wheel in a few years? Hello!!
They are STILL looking for me and Bono!!
Note to self...check on DHL cost to have a clutch fan delivered to Huatulco!!
And for Max's creative side (via his madre). This is an arts and crafts workshop below Huatulco Fitness. The sign says imagine, design and create.
One of many autobuses dropping off peeps for the day.
These are not locals, but Mexicans who do not speak español and are either from the moñtanas or another estado. As soon as the madre saw me taking fotos, she turned her back on me. Many peeps believe it is bad luck to have their foto taken.
BonIce is back!! Not sure where their tienda is. Note the fair colored skin on the Mexican madre. Chilango!!
Our favorite basket salesman.
Construction 101...Mexican style.
And last but not least...silla anyone?
Hola to the boys as I walked through town, and found out it will be cumpleaños de Moises on 31 de diciembre. So I stopped at the plasticos and grabbed him the gift EVERY 17 year old hombre wants…fireworks!! Ja ja ja
Home and then I stuck around with Max as Bexico hit the alberca with a bakers dozen or so Mexican nationals. It seems a bus dropped off a large group of them…and that always gets a few condo owners riled up.
Por que? Porque there are many condo rules and they seem to be enforced on only the foreigners. 16 peeps in one condo, loud music at the pool etc…but most of the Mexicans we meet are friendly…not always the Navidad o Semana Santa crowd though.
One word…chilangos. The fair skinned peeps of DF…Mexico City. Oh well, the Christmas break is only a few weeks long and then we can deal with the Canadians smoking around the pool!! Ja ja ja
Bex came back and I headed out the door again. Fonatur to drop off some recycling and then Nissan to see about the cambio de aceite y rotación de llantas. I was too close to siesta time, so I will come back in mañana at 10am…directo…no waiting!!
Looked for Tony, to give him his regalo, but Carlos the security guard said he worked one day last week and is off again. Huh? Hello compensation!! Ja ja ja
830pm…stepped away to take care of Max, have a FaceTime and then get dinner cooked and eaten. Max has finished his bath y madre Bexico is getting him all dried up and into his night clothes.
We are hoping for another 6 hour stretch of zzzz!! As for clothing…looks like a possible road trip to Pochutla as we are low on some 3 month plus items…even though Junior is only 7 weeks old!!
We cropped a pair of sleep pants and made them into sleep shorts!! He has given up on everything but diapers and shorts and the shorts are more about “catching stuff” vs fashion!!
He will be fine, just like his parents, he needs to get used to the warmer temperatures and realize he needs to slow down to stay cooler. Good luck at 7 weeks!! Ja ja ja
Back to the day and I was at Che. Scores? All beef Johnsonville franks…some pepperoni for Bexico’s famous pizzas…pulpa de cerdo for dinner later this week…real milk (3 days left on it’s shelf life…ugh)…soft margarine (I think…”untable”…spread)…and more chorizo (hecho en españa…not Mexico?).
Home, unloaded and then it was my turn for the alberca. A good float in a floatie that lasted a year…but has seen better days. Let’s just say I do not bring it back to the condo at the end of the day, as I am sure no one will steal it!! Ja ja ja
9pm….success…the lil’hombre has fallen asleep on the bed!!! Usual position…only his arms are swaddled and his legs are out in the frog position!! He looks so adorable!!
Madre Bexico? Hello to a 9pm dip in the alberca to cool down!!
Ok…our martes? Nissan for 10am, el gimnasio in there somewhere, 24 hours of Max, oficina time for Bexico and at 5pm…the pediatrician!! We are not concerned as we have our list of questions a Cdn doctor asks at 2 months, have translated those, and have Daniel coming to help us with any palabras we do not understand.
We will be looking to have the doctor weigh Max and measure his length, and we have a tracking chart for both of those. Bexico has a probiotic question and other then that…all we are want to have checked out is his gas issue. Stay tuned.
Max fotos:
From anoche…Max in his styling surf monkey shorts and then “posing” before his bath.
And then today I had an email asking where the cammo was in the Santa outfit foto. Good question Boots…so here is Max all geared up and holding my regalo de Navidad.
Last but not least…I was up late working on this program I found online. Here is a screen shot of a uncompleted rough plan (primero piso…first floor only) for possibly our villa at Mojon.
Nice to play around…not so nice that the program has too many bugs and did not save the design!! Ja ja ja Oh well.
We are headed to Mojon on miercoles and will do some palapa repairs with the wire I bought as well as re-hang the hammock. And for Fin de Año (NYE)…I need to scrounge up the madera (wood) for our 2nd annual bonfire!!
Satellite update? Randy will come by sometime this week and if we cannot get the signal, I will try to recruit a satellite guy who does the Mexican Dish dishes…and if no luck there…adios to $2500 pesos and hola to Roman and his guy.
Have a great martes all!!!
Marco, Bexico y Max
