745pm…5 minutes away from la cena. Por que so late…tarde?

Dumb ass doctor was a no show for our 5pm cita!! Welcome to Mexico? Daniel today warned me that doctors often are not in the oficina when they say they will be. He says it is a fact of life here. Ugh.

We had Max, his file and our questions all ready to go. We met Daniel and 445pm and when we got to the oficina…there was a note that says doctor will see patients after 8pm. Huh?

We went to the other pediatrician’s oficina....

but he is on vacation and that means no doctors visit today. Después de la cena, I am headed to the first doctors oficina to see what the heck (not my first choice of words) happened and see when we can have a real cita…appointment!!

Hola…9pm and I am back from el doctor. You were not here for my 5pm cita? Sí. Sí? Sí.

Glad we got that cleared up. At least he said “claro” when I explained what type of appointment we were coming for, a general exam. And we are booked in for 10am…mañana….sin Daniel who cannot make it due to a cruise ship coming in.

So…we are not nervous because we have our questions in español and like I have said several times, other then the colico…Max is great. Except today was a weird day. After a day like today, shaken baby syndrome is NOT a possibility…but shaken martini syndrome IS!!! Ja ja ja

He slept 9pm until 5am…no leche break!! But then was up 5am-9am with tummy issues and then had maybe oh….15 minutes of sleep the whole day!! Huh? And would he lay in bed and be tranquilo? No. Would he be happy after having 8 goes at leche de madre? No. weird day mis amigos, weird day!!

9pm and the centro was PACKED. I have never seen so many people in town and the restaurantes are busy…not so much for the joyeria.

Some guy parked his car in front of the exit for the condo next door. Not good as peeps are trying to leave and a tamarindo is out there blowing his whistle…big fine coming.

Ok…back to our day.

Went to the banco and grabbed some more pesos. It cost $10 Cdn less then it did last week…the dollar strengthened by 1.6% in a week? YOY it is actually up 10.7% vs the peso. Wowsers.

Off to Nissan for my 10am directo that turned into 1030am as the boys were backed up with work.

Assisted Tony with tire rotation and allowed him to change the oil. Had the brakes checked as I knew they were low when I was in Van, and yup…the front brake pads need changing. There is no stock here in Huatulco, but they will bring me in a 2 sets for mañana, from Puerto Escondido.

As we are planning on Mojon después de cita de doctor, I will bring the truck back to Tony on jueves. Tony liked the regalo…the Canucks playera (t-shirt) and I will get them all down to Pucks to watch a game some time soon.

920pm….one litro of DC almost gone. Going to enroll in CLA…Coca Light Anonymous!!

After Nissan a pit stop at Che…broke the mop ayer….and also grabbed some more diapers. I miss the box of 171.5 as the biggest pack size we have here is 38. We are thinking of going to Pochutla on some Monday soon and catching the great open air market, but also hit up the Bodega, the Walmart off shoot. Hope to find some scores there!!

Home from those errands and turned right around and hit the gym. Good workout and actually enjoyed the nicer weights and equipment. But I miss mis amigos!!

Quick walk to say hola to the boys and when I walked into the complex, I was greeted by this site.

Madre Bexico had some cabin fever so they were headed to buy some verdura. I took max and sat him down at the guard station and Hector, Marcelino y Marciano and I just chatted about mi hijo.

Madre managed to get a quick swim in and the rest of the day has been a blur of taking care of Max, cleaning the condo and just staying ahead of the curve.

We need a Mojon day!!

La cena…muslos de pollo con papas…chicken thighs and potatoes. Deliscious…but am looking forward to my no-cooking night on Fin de Año….hello pizza!!

Bexico is up in her oficina working hard…after being up at 5am!! Trooper who managed a 30 minute siesta earlier in the day but must be running on fumes.

Wish us luck with our doctors appointment!! We know we live on a tiny town and just need to be ready for that when it comes to planning things for Max…and for things like building Mojon.

I am sure the pediatricians are very good once you actually get to see them…but Daniel summed it up best for us. Most Mexicans here cannot afford to see a pediatrician, so there are not many of them as they would make no living.

Most locals wait until they or their niño is ill, then either go see a GP, or one of the doctors they have at the pharmacia, that offer consulta for $30 pesos…less the 3 dollars.

So for the “regular” stuff with Max, plan ahead and be prepared for waits etc. As for the heaven forbid emergencia

as well as the brand new Infantile Hospital, the Naval Hospital and IMSS.

Bexico is also going to chat up the senorita from the blood test place, as she speaks ingles, has kids and seems like she would be willing to assist us if we had questions etc.

Lots of patience is needed, but it is very similar here to trying to find a family doctor in most cities in Canada…muy difícil…very difficult.

Here are the fotos from the short walk around town.

Welcome to Bar Las Garzas...The Herons.

No expensive shop to rent...any sidewalk will do.

A view down a busy calle Carrizal.

Looking up Blvd Chahue towards the one traffic light in town...as well as towards the Pemex....the only gas station in town.

2 Cerditos? Looks like madre y hijo are awaiting negocio.

His merchandise may not weigh a lot, but that does not mean he does not work hard!!

Sympatico perro next door. Note his ears.

Nope...not Gato Negro. Too skinny and this pussy was a scaredy cat.

Note the ears after the gato ran under the fence into the yard next door!!

Senor Max fotos?

Posing con mi calcetines....oh madre!!

1015pm and in the dilapidated condo building across the way, someone has just started up a table saw. Viva Mexcio!!

That’s all mis amigos.

Hasta mañana!!

Marco, Bexico y Max
