Hola amigos. Viernes has come and is almost gone. But what? No aberca time today? ¿Porque? No sé…the pool is roped off and cerrado. Maybe it has something to do with what we blogged about ayer…dirty water?

Oh well.

430pm and Bexico has finished hours of oficina work (filming and then the 10 hour upload, as well as a phone call with Ottawa) and has also cleaned the condo!! Hey…I did the ducha…shower!!

530pm we are off to look at another condo and hope to have settled on our post níno accommodations soon!! Latest update is that we are probably leaving R&H’s condo as we just need more room.

This condo has been great and we would be staying here under different circumstances. We have also looked at a unit in the same complex, one with a loft and today heard back from the owners…who happen to be friends of R&H. ja ja ja

We have never met them, but them seem like nice peeps. They are open to us renting and have agreed with us on some important deets like the need for a screen door, a washer/dryer etc. The big pluses about this condo are that it has 3 bedrooms and 2 dos baños and is furnished. The unit we will see at 530pm is not furnished and we all know how hard it is to buy and/or find muebles here in Huatulco

We will take a look at the latest condo and then make our decision. We want to move in before we head back to Van, so we are all set up upon our return.

As for accommodations in Vancouver, we have placed a deposit on a 1200 sqft 2 bedroom condo in North Van. We also had a very generous offer from mi hermano and that might all come together by Sept 15 too.

MISC

Canucks won last night and the series is  now 3 games to 1. One more game and we will be off to play in the semi-finals…probably against San Jose who happen to be up 3 games to 0 vs Detroit.

The game mañana does pose a small issue…Nascar at 630pm and the Canucks at 7pm!! Ja ja ja It has already been decide…Canucks first.

Moms day is Día de las Madres here in Mexico. And according to this website, día de las madres is always on 10 de mayo and not as celebrated in Canada or USA on the second Sunday of May. Who knew?

Either way...don’t forget your Moms!!

The rest of our day…

It was sunny all day and even though we didn’t stray from our routine, we are not bored at all!!

El gimnasio was good. Rosa was only there for a short time as she had a reunion…meeting. That left Memo in charge and his “amiga” was there so he was distracted. Ja ja ja

Here are the fotos from today.

I count 10 hombres moving the cement.

How much do you think a 16 litro pail of cement weighs? And then climb that ladder in 36 plus degree heat. Phew..

A flatbed truck being decorated.

Rosa tells me there is a big celebration mañana in the zocalo. Not 100% sure what it is all about, but it will start at 5 or 6pm and will include gay men and possibly the muxes I had blogged about previously.

Here is a link to wikipedia’s info on muxes.

UPDATE

Just back from looking at the condo. It is great!! Empty, lots of space, never been lived in etc. But….it is for sale and if the owner sells it, we get one month’s notice. Argh.

It looks like we will not take that gamble as it would not only be expensive (we would need to furnish), but having one month to find a place for the 3 of us would be too stressful.

I have emailed Roman with a list of to-do’s on the other condo and will see where this leads. We hope to have our Huatulco accommodations settled by early next week.

And just to make it interesting, we have asked how much the owner wants to sell his condo for. Could be do-able…a casa at Mojon and a rentable condo in the city. Stay tuned.

Back to the fotos.

Here is a turismo bus.

One of the more luxurious ones I have seen…they even have a mid bus door.

And last but not least.

This was the hombre who sells blinds. We have been waiting to have him walk the town as we needed a blind for our palapa. After 3pm, as the sun starts to set to the south, we get blinded by the sun as we sit in our hammock. It is truly a tragedy!! Ja ja ja

Anyway, I ran into the hombre as I was headed home from the boys and saw him chatting up a senorita. All in español I asked how much they cost, asked if the smaller one was cheaper, asked why the two sizes had equal price, told him the large one was muy caro..expensive, and then decided to pay the $100 pesos.

I thought $80 pesos was fair, but I also think he needed the $1.75 Cdn more then I did.

After the gym it was a walk through town and then picked up a few fresh platanos. Very delicious when they are not too ripe!!

Saw the pool was closed so I came upstairs and helped finish cleaning the condo. No swim meant a shower in the condo…I have not used hot water in the shower since we moved here, but even the cold water coming though the ducha was hot. Yikes.

815pm and we are waiting for the cerdo roast to finish cooking and then it will be tiempo para la cena!!

Mañana…it is sábado!! El gimnsaio and we will head to Barcelo hotel to watch the tae-kwon-do demo and maybe the carnival in La Crucecita at 5pm. And then rush home for Nascar y Canucks!!

Bexico has sent off 12 video clips to Paris and is currently working on some drawings for a contract based in Ottawa. These drawings are character designs that may lead to her animating them for a website!! Go Bexico Go!!

Buen fin de semana all…don’t forget Madre!!

Bubba y Bexico
