Canuck's UPDATE
Después two periods and the score is tied 1-1!! Tight game…lots of hits, the usual amount of Vancouver penalties and now an injury to Kessler…doph.
Ok…our day.
Bexico joined me on the walk to el gimnasio and our first stop was the telas. We need to fix up a pair of my cammo shorts and take in an inch from my maple leaf swim shorts.
We then said hola to Elder and as Bexico stated…she felt like my show and tell project.
Next up was Daniel from Fonatur and using the phrase “hemos extra” (we have extra), I gave him some crackers that we did not need. He thanked me and said hola to Bexico.
We bypassed Paco as the smell of the cooking cerdo almost makes me ill and what pregnant woman needs that smell? Ja ja ja
Rosa was thrilled to see Bexico as she had not seen her since Memo’s hermanas cumpleanos as well as since the big announcement. We chatted it up for a while and then the most unexpected thing occurred.
We have a neighbor who runs a posada (almost like a B&B) across from our complex. She also comes to the gym almost every day and has a light workout. She rarely smiles and never says hola first. Anyway, she offered Bexico a ride back to the condo. Ta da!!
Bexico said it was a VERY quiet ride back, with the conversation really being one sided, but still all in español. Very nice of this senora.
Bexico left and went shopping…hello!! Cheap designer clothes from H&M, Lucky jeans ($10) and Aeropostale!! That was enough shopping because she was sweating up a storm while buying the verdura (veggies)!!
Me? Good workout and then a walk through town. The boys were in front of the computer watching YouTube videos on how to solve the Rubiks Cube!! Oh negocio is soooo slow for them.
I came home and we had some super sunny alberca time.
Weather? Same forecast, same result. 60% chance of thundershowers and it was mainly sunny. It did cloud over around 6pm and we have had some light showers tonight…but we don’t mind the night showers as they help cool it down.
Después de alberca, we did a walk with a few items in mind. Me? Source and price out a few more washers & dryers, and Bexico was looking for a purple bikini top and was in charge of finding us a película para mañana.
I found one shop was sold out of the base models (who needs a fancy machine down here?) and had a great time talking with a family at the other tienda. Their store is about 20 feet wide and 80 feet deep, so you don’t go unnoticed when you walk in.
Canuck's UPDATE
With 20 seconds left in the 3rd period Vancouver was down 2-1 (baaaaad goal by Sharks). Canucks had their goalie pulled and tied the game!!! We are headed into sudden death OT folks!!!
Back to the washer and dryer. Friendly peeps and I asked all my questions in español. Size, cost, delivery, stacking, gas, electric etc. Good prices and good Whirlpool machines, but I am still going to see if the stacking unit fits as that allows more storage room. Stay tuned.
Bexico did her window shopping as the bikini store was cerrado (for siesta?) but we have picked the movie Thor, for tomorrow night.
Some misc items for the pollo dinner and we were home.
Muy humido today…phew is it hot.
We ate our dinner, Bexico did some more work and we sat down at 8pm to watch the game. You are all caught up.
As for fotos…
You know who came by for some leche today?
Hola Gato Negro.
What is this?
No...not the Milestone's pen...It is the honeycomb from under the swarm of bees at our palapa!! Roman’s team smoked them out and he brought this by to show us that the job was done. Best $150 pesos we have spent yet!!
Canuck's UPDATE
Still 2-2 after the first overtime period!!
I am not sure what is in this camion.
But I am do know it is advertising "books for everyone".
What would the blog be without a BONICE foto?
Just an iguana that was watching us as we walked to the gym.
Canuck's UPDATE
In the 2nd OT period…some weird bounce, the puck comes to the defenseman and he shoots and scores. Game over. Canucks win!!! They are off to the Stanley Cup finals!!
Tid bit (hee x3) of info for mis padres…the guy who scored the goal was born in Grimsby.
Just a cement truck being worked on in automotive alley.
And some madera (wood) being delivered.
Most construction here is done with concrete and/or brick and there are only two or three very small suppliers of wood here in town.
And don't forget they have pine forests only a few hour norte.
They love their nínos here.
And last but not least.
They are quite good and you can see that they are holding 3 or 4 mallets each. According to the internet, yes they are called mallets.
Mañana? Movie night and probably a rib eye para la cena. Next Mojon trip is jueves…Thursday.
As well…hoping mis padres are not stuck in Europe due to the volcanic ash.
Have a great day all.
Go Canucks Go!!
