UPDATE

Buenos dias. It is 915am on miercoles and our internet service is back!! Around midnight, the baño queen was doing her thing and noticed the net was back...and what a gal...she checked the Canucks score!! I love that gal!! 3-2 Nucks in OT and they now lead the series 2 games to 1.

As for our martes (Tuesday)...read on.

Buenos tardes all!!

Welcome to posting #250!!

Why I am writing the blog at 520pm? Because the internet is out!! I will type the blog on Word and then copy and paste it later tonight here at home…or might have to go and see if the internet is working at the boys store.

Funny that the internet is not working and just ayer I was talking about upgrading ours!! Ja ja ja

Well…Bexico did make the call and we were told 1-3 days and that there would be NO interruption. We cannot say the two are related…but what a coincidence.

In our last Telmex bill, they included some propaganda…here are some tid bits.

1991 they had 5.4 phone lines…2010 15.6 million. Fibre optic lines went from 360 km to 112,570 km. It used to take 2 years to get a phone line and now it is 5.8 days (or 6 weeks if it is like us!!). Years of schooling for their employees went from 5.7 years to 15. Internet used to cost $10 pesos per kb and is now .06 pesos. And long distance (international) has gone from $19.35 pesos/min ($1.60 Cdn) to $1.59 pesos (less then 20 cents).

But if they could only speed up the internet AND ensure it always works!! Ja ja ja

Weather tid-bit (hee x3). Temperatures in abril were an average of 26,2 grados at night, up 2,2 grados from marzo’s 24,0 and during the day it was 35,0 (in the shade), up from 33,5. Everyone we speak to says mayo is baaaad. So far it has been hot and sticy, but we are ok with the ventiladors during the day, a dip in the alberca and then some a/c in our bedroom at night.

As for lluvia (rain), we missed a shower while we were at Mojon and experienced 1 minute of rain a few weeks ago. Not bad...since Sept 29!!

Misc…Rosa wants to throw Bexico a baby shower. I suggested after we return so everyone knows the sex of the níno…but I am not sure Rosa got that. Lol

Mi jewelry amigos were explaining to me the tradition about cigars if it is a hijo and chocolates if it is a hija…and I thought they bought them for me…oh I was so wrong!! Lol

Funny Che story. How to meet more Mexicans? We were at Che and I am walking the aisle with a cart and all of a sudden someone is tapping me on the shoulder. I am thinking “who knows me well enough to do that here?” and then the voice…”excuse me sir…that is my cart”. Ja ja ja. It was a Mexican senorita wanting her cart back as I had taken her cart for a ride instead of ours. She had great ingles, but I still replied mucho siento and then went looming for our cart.

What a way to meet more Mexicans…think if it had been a huge hombre? Lol

Well…took a break and it is currently 730pm. Bexico called Telmex and talked with a tech…our internet should be up soon. Close call as the game starts at 8pm!! Go Nucks!!

The day…martes.

Off to the gym after finally getting our water jug delivered. The new regulamente now means water takes a full day to make it upstairs.

The gym was fairly packed and HOT. Great workout and 3 plus litros of agua.

The fotos from today....all taken with the pequeño camera as Bexico is using the T1i.

This is our new video studio.

Also known as our living room!!

This is a view of our current daily weather. This is looking south down Carrizal...sunny.

And this is norte towards the montañas…cloudy.

Hoy (today), we had clear skies until 1pm, then it was hazy and around 330pm cloudy periods rolled in.

UPDATE

830pm and no internet yet. Dinner is finished though!!

Back to the fotos.

WFSITBOTT?

This hombre had a load of ceramics.

Not unlike this load.

Just a curious peroito.

And this guy?

He’s too smart to be carrying all this on his back!!

This familia was strolling Carrizal and playing tunes, trying to pay the bills.

Tony’s…

We were talking about Tony’s the other day while we were at our pequeño papeleria here in La Crucecita. Tony’s is the big store we saw in Oaxaca City.

And what would the posting be without one of these fotos?

Fresh sandia y piña!!

Despues el gimnasio, it was off to say hola to the boys and then home. Bexico has been working hard on the Paris project and still fitting in her workouts.

She needed more papel and verdura, so we split up and I went to Che while she got ready to go out for her goods. Not sure how it happened…but I was home from Che before she left. Ja ja ja

Che was tranquilo…no one but us locals!! Great score on garbonzo beans!! We have not seen those here yet, so I bought two tins and we had some in our ensalada.

Waited for Bexico in the alberca and we had a relaxer!!

That was our day. La cena was pollo con arroz and some great French bread!!

Mañana…hopefully Mojon despues el gimnasio.

Once the internet is up again, I want to Google 3 de mayo and cinqo de mayo and see what they say. I am told different things about both days and had not even heard about a 3 de mayo holiday.

Have a great night.

saludos
