UPDATE #2

It looks like Blogger had a full day of issues. They removed all posts from miercoles and then reposted them. It is 5pm on viernes...here is jueves post.

UPDATE #1

1145pm and it looks like the Blogger site is in “read only” mode so I cannot post the blog. It will probably be posted in the morning.

adios

Hello peeps!!

11pm’ish and time to drop you all an update.

Sunny day…but with a nice breeze which actually turned into some wind during alberca time. Brrrr…frio chill off the water!! Ja ja ja

Shout out to D from the jewelry tienda. He has a bum ankle and is off in Oaxaca City getting it looked at by a specialist. No fútbol-soccer for you…triste (sad).

El gimnasio was a-ok. As stated, it was not as hot today which made the workout better. Not many peeps in the gym so that means Rosa chats up Bubba!! I had loaded up her nuevo iPod’ish music player and we spent some time going through the selections.

She liked Bruce and Colin James and fell in love with John Coltrane. Not so hip on Marvin Gaye….no gusta.

Here are the fotos from my walk.

WFSITBOTT?

Just more verdura and fruita. It is truly mango season and we see them for sale everywhere!!

Who knew?

They must really pay Daniel my street sweeping amigo a lot!! Just kidding. There is no real middle class here…either you have it, or you don’t. The owner of this Vette…has it.

You see these everywhere!!

150cc scooters, bikes, motos…with a cooler on the back. What is in the cooler? Fresh made tortillas that are sold by the kilo and ½ kilo. Lalo believes the drivers are on a salary, but also get a few pesos per kilo sold.

Despues de gimnsio, I took my walk through town. Lots of tourists today…even some very blanco Canadians at Gabriels.

Lalo says there are no more cruise ships coming until Fall and the airline charters from Canada are almost finished as well. What does that mean for him? Home to Acapulco as soon as Daniel returns. He will end up staying there for 3 months and return late agosto or septiembre.

I did get all his contact info and we will think hard about visiting Acapulco, having Lalo as our tour guide. Maybe a few days of shopping and seeing the cliff divers?

Came home and Bexico was hard at work. She has filmed another script and tonite is working on compressing the files to be sent.

We decided to go for a walk antes alberca time. Nothing like working up a sweat and then hitting the cold showers at the pool. The showers at the pool get their water direct from the water system so it is cool from being underground. The water in our ducha comes from the tanks on the roof…having sat in the 40 degree heat all day…good luck on a cool shower!!

Talking about water…we received our water bill from Fonatur. $144 pesos or around $12 Cdn…for 2 months!! I wish our electric bill was so cheap!!! (as I sit in the chill room typing away…ja ja ja).

Bexico and I walked to the plasticos store and picked up some glass containers for our shell collection and then off for some pan, into the zocalo to look at libros and then home for the pool. We did bump into Francisco dos at his restaurante and we chatted him up for a while.

He was excited to show us the new menu and talk about “the business” with fellow restaurant peeps. Different country…same issues.
We will go try his new menu out sometime soon.

Here are the fotos from our walk.

Just a nice flower.

Saw these 3 hombres outside the only gas station in town.

Looks like they are selling the taxi drivers back supports as well as more of the blinds.

Interesting story here.

We are approaching the new banco and all of a sudden the militar (Marina vs Army) pull up in their troop carrier. Ten or so guys get out, cross the street and then do a once over of the banco. Some of the guys are obviously standing guard and then within 2 minutes, they all turn around and head back to their truck.

Due to the violence IN OTHER PARTS OF THE COUNTRY…the militar do not like you to take fotos of that can identify them.

I have heard of pregnant women having cravings.

But for piñatas? Actually Bexico has been very good…she craves Philadelphia cream cheese and right now has NO craving for M&Ms. I know…crazy!!

And the last foto.

More books at the book show in the zocalo. Bexico paid $40 pesos for the Diary of Anne Frank…in español.

Came home and had some great pool time…nice and cool and no one else around!!

La cena started with the ensalada mixta and the fresh baguette. Ooooo so good. Then it was l/o chili…sorry about that!! lol

Bexico did some more work esta noche (tonight) and I spent a few hours surfing the web with a VERY slow connection. No sé porque.

I spent time looking up flights to Van via Mex City. Trying to use Aeroplan points for Bexico’s flight and that leads to questions such as…

-how pregger can you be when you fly (it is different for each airline as well as on line pregger sites…but 36 weeks is the MAX. We are going at 32)

-how do you book a rewards ticket for one on the way norte and dos for the way sur?

-what are the policies for flying with newborns? Domestic and International are different.

Etc etc. Lots of questions and soon we will have all the answers.

MISC

I forgot to mention a tid bitt (hee x 3) about shopping at Elektra. Each store has an Azteca banco in it so the consumer can get instant credit.
Why the credit? Because most people do not have the cash to pay full purchase price. Paying the listed price is called “chaz chaz” and there is no translation!! Ja ja ja

While we were in the store, a salesman came over and asked if we needed help. I told him in español…”no entiendo chaz chaz” and he went on to explain what it meant.

But here is the killer for peeps that cannot afford chaz chaz. Look at this example.

No name 40 inch LCD tv chaz chaz was $7000 pesos.

If you want to pay installments, the normal cost was $178 pesos/week for 78 weeks. The total cost?  $13,884 pesos…almost double chaz chaz. The interest rate being charged is around 65% annual.

But…they had a deal on!! Only $119 pesos/week for 78 weeks, meaning your total cost was now only $9282. Interest was only $2282 pesos at around 22% interest annually.

And Lalo tells me they don’t deliver the appliances…you need to figure that out yourself. Yikes. Well I have a few months left to do that!!

Mañana? Bexico has a ton of work to do and I am meeting Roman and his trades guys at 9am to review the B10 to-do list.

Then it is off the el gimnasio and you know the rest of the day. Might hit up Papalopan for another rib eye!!

Have a great viernes everbody!!!

saludos
