martes, el 10 de mayo de 2011 (dia de las madres)

Hola amigos!! A great martes here in Huatulco!!

Desayunos and then a video chat with the Balmer. He is a good guy, has done well for himself in the real estate racket. If you need an agent in TO, let me know!!

Then it was off to the gym. No Rosa as she took the day off to celebrate dia de las madres!!

Here are my fotos from the walks.

Today’s weather forecast was cloudy and chance of thundershowers. Does it look like that occurred?

This was taken from the center traffic island on Chahue Blvd.

These are two VERY hard working hombres.

The guy to the right is Daniel with his nuevo sombrero…his ball cap from Fonatur. I had stopped to give him one of Bexico’s brownies and we chatted up dia de las madres, his 2 new hats as well as the heat!!

Then the advertising guy came by. He hand cranks the trike around town as he has no use of his legs. Imagine…hand crank in the 40 plus degree heat. Phew.

This is the back view of an Italika trike.

We saw this exact one for sale at Elektra, the biggest muebles store in town. We like the idea of buying something similar...kinda cool to boot around town in it!! Someone else thought it was cool too...and bought it!!

Foto from the Italika website and a link to the product page.

Trés niños headed home from school.

Looks like dos hermanos y una hermana.

As for the gym, had a great workout and hasd some laughs with Yeu who was working the day shift. He also received a brownie and was curious why it is called a brownie…moreno in español. I really didn’t have an answer!! Ja ja ja

Short walk via the town square and picked up some fresh pan. The bakery makes good eats!!! Lots of peeps around today…all picking up flowers and regalos for their madres.

I came home and we headed out for some errands. Café Juanita for some paperbacks and then Elektra to checkout refrigeradoras, secadoras y lavadoras…fridges, dryers and washers.

Why the search? We have come to an agreement to move into the loft condo on Sept 13…the day before we head back to Vancouver. Our new landlord has been great in regards to repairs and changes we have requested. The biggest being that they will purchase and install a washer and dryer.

Those are rare items here as most Mexicans bring their wash to a lavenderia…something we didn’t mind doing while on vacation, but enjoy the convenience of having now that we live here.

As for the refrigeradora, they already have one, but it is too small. We will buy a nice big one and then move it to our casa at Mojon once we build there.

We saw the biggest selection yet, including a stacking washer/dryer for $14,000 pesos or around $1150 Cdn. As for the fridge, it looks like $12,000 pesos for the top o’line Whirlpool.

A few other items at the new condo will hopefully be taken care of by Roman and his team. Nick and Aimee, the new landlords, have approved the fixes, now we just need the quotes. A screen door, a mailbox, raising a ceiling fan, adding a sliding door etc. Nothing too major.

After Elektra it was a pit stop at Che and then home for alberca time. A few tourists visiting the condo, but other then that we were all alone at the pool!!

La cena…oh we have mastered the lomo cerdo (pork roast). So we had some fresh baguette with our ensaladas and then the roast con arroz and some gravy. They do not sell gravy packs here…we had brought a few down with us.

La cena mañana? Homemade chili!!

Bexico has been busy compressing and then sending video files to Paris. She is also doing some rough sketches for a guy in California. Go go Bexico!!

Mañana, despues de gimnasio…Mojon. No movie night, as there aren’t any good peliculas showing.

Have a great miercoles everyone!!
