The look of a niño who slept from 9pm until 745am!!
Hola mis amigos.
Almost 7pm…before the
papas are ready for la cena, I have time to sneak in a few lines for the blog.
Madre is sitting next to
me feeding the lil’machine!!
I emailed our doctor last
night and at 9am he called and said he would make una visita domicilio (house call) because
there was no way Bex was making it into his oficina.
At 1230pm he arrived and
without an MRI he cannot tell exactly what is up, but it could be a herniated
disk. So he gave Bex some drugs via a shot and she felt a lot better. At least
good enough to be able to leave the bed and walk slowly around the casa.
He also gave us a
prescription for some pain killers and muscle relaxants, which max and I picked
up later in the día. Cost for the visit and shot? $1000 pesos or around $78
Cdn. Cost for las drogas? $70 pesos at Simi…muy barrato.
So we will see how this
all works out as El Doctor told us the nearest MRI machine (or as they call it
en español…RIM) is in Oaxaca…6 hour drive. Doph.
And while Bex is getting shot up, we had some niño sitters take care of Max. Yup, via FT, mis padres kept Max occupied so I could check in on Bex. Gracias abuelos.
The day prior to the
visit from El Doctor was all about Max and madre. And despues de visit, madre
was well enough to take care of herself and could watch Max, but no lifting or rocking.
Frustrating for madre as
she misses her hijo, so hopefully in a day or two she will be good to go.
Anoche, Max slept soundly
from 9pm until 3am!!! A new record!! Madre was in my spot, Max was head towards
the foot of the bed and I was laying across the foot of the bed. Hey…it worked.
When he awoke at 5am, yes
5 am, we headed next door and he managed to CN until 745am!! What a difference
that makes. Phew as I was pooped from the night of playing nurse.
Talking about records, this morning during desayunos, Max
broke his cereal record. The record now stands at 17 spoon fulls in a
row…non-stop!! The dude is a machine!!
930pm UPDATE
Pouring rain, lots of
thunder (eh madre?) and lightning!! Two out of four leaks have been fixed
(here’s hoping), and the other 2…who knows.
Power flicking on and
off…stay tuned.
Max is asleep and madre is
high on her meds. Sore back? What sore back?
Back to the día.
Usual rutina and throw in
some assistance for madre, and that was the day. No gimnasio, but I did manage
a siesta once madre had her shot from the doctor and was able to at least keep
an eye on Max.
Three naps and
bedtime…lots of rocking. I might be hitting madre up for some of her meds!! Ja
ja ja
Fun alberca time for the 2
of us…he loves the chair in the pool. Later in the day madre went to the pool
with him…lighter weight in the alberca!! She also had some assistance from a
Mexican senora who held Max, sensing madre’s back was sore.
La cena? A roast that
would was perfectly cooked when I pulled it out of the oven. And 40 minutes
later when the potatos y carrots were cooked? Argh…over done. I tell you, ovens
with 1-5 on then vs temperatures…whose great idea was that?
No chance to work on Mojon
stuff. We need to figure out tiles y baño designs…but familia comes first. I
saw Roman today and told him that much…nothing we can do. It will not delay the
basic quote, but delays the detailed quote.
We can probably get him
our ideas next week.
And talking about familia
first, if madre is not better…no trip to Istmos. From what I see, picking up
the 9.5 kilo bundle of love, is not in the near future for Bex. That means I
need to be here…enough said.
Fotos? Yes, there are a
few.
What a cutie!!
Fruver, the main supplier of verdura y fruta here in Huatulco.
We have started shopping next door, not due to better produce, but the equipo (team) there, recognize us and Max and are that much more friendly.
Max's primera novia and the regalo we picked up for her in Pochutla.
Yup, she loves Max and his pollo (sounds dirty to me), so we grabbed her one too. Her abuelos were VERY gracious and polite about the fact we bought this for her.
Mañana? No sé…stay tuned.
Hasta luego.
Marco, Bexico y Max
