Hola mis amigos.
A great day here in
Huatulco…but at 945pm…not so good for the Canucks, who find themselves in a 3-0
hole after 5 minutes. Doph.
And doph…mucho viento
today so we did not go to the playa. There would have been arena blowing into
every one of Max’s orifices!! Ja ja ja…ouch.
So we kept ourselves busy
and late in the afternoon, we had our family pool time. More on that later.
I grabbed the 630am
shift…Bex was exhausted from multiple feedings. So the lil’non pooper (no business for HOURS!!) and I got
up and had our walk around town.
We did take a few early morning fotos.
The sun rising on the hotel across the street.
Early morning repairs on a pollo delivery moto. Who orders pollo at 8am?
Used to be called El Yoguis
Max and I paused and listened and watched this senora. She was singing and talking while watering her plants.
We discovered she was talking to this parrot, who in turn started whistling and talking (in español) to Max.
Ah-ha!! Purpose of the parade on Feb 29? Cuadragesimo Aniversario of this school. Here is the itinerary that was posted at the gates.
Outside a hotel.
No indoor plumbing? ja ja ja
One day at Mojon we will have a palm tree with luces de navidad!!
Ah-ha, this is where I dropped Max's drool toalla!!
Turismo bus.
Note what is in the front window.
Flower shop and a well placed egg carton keeping the sun off the flowers.
He fell asleep as we checked on plátanos at Fruver, and had another 20 minutes or so of zzzz while we sat at the alberca.
Then it was time to soak our pies (feet) and then head upstairs to wake up madre.
Somewhere between the pool
and the condo, Max changed his mind and decided he only wanted a snack and not
the full meal!! Oh Max.
So the two of them hung
out and I headed to el gimnsio.
Hanging out fotos.
And then the three of them hung out!!
Fotos from the gym walk...
Yup, they'rrrrre back!! Mannequins, chalk boards, dusters etc
This joven should be out playing with his amigos, but is instead making $$ for the familia.
At least don't make him sell purses!!
Following up to the "tianguis" information recently posted, this is a sign at the same mercado, that used to be a tianjuis.
You get used to things being different here. This 17 year old joven, is using a small sledge hammer to bring down a concrete pillar. No safety glasses and flip flops for footware.
Coco frios outside Gabriels.
Good session at el
gimnasio and when I was down, I headed to the centro and said hola to the gang.
And who walks up a few minutes later? Mi familia!! They stopped and then we
averted a diplomatic situation!!
Vicky still has it in her
head that she needs to toughen up Max. We still have it in our heads that if
she touches him like that again, we may deck her!! Kidding…sort of.
Anyway, Bexico did a great
job of letting Vicky know that we don’t like that behaviour for Max…and now we
wait and see. We think (hope) she isn’t being malicious, but this idea of
needing to make Max into a tough niño, has got to stop. Enough already. If it
continues, we will need to have a chat with her.
Misc info via Daniel…
The fruit we were given
the night of the parade, was una ciruela en mescal…a plum in mezcal.
Who knew? Bex knew about
the booze right away and stopped eating the plum…good for her!!
Enough with the sparring
and we came home for pool time.
Max first needed some
zzzz’s, so I headed down and grabbed some sol.
He arrived a short time
later and proceeded to have a blast in the pool.
How did day 3 go with the
head under water? Hmmmm…not as good as days 1 and 2!! We think he might have
opened his eyes and mouth just as he went under…yikes. He came up gulping, had
a 30 second display of unhappy emotions, and then bounced right back.
Upon review of the tape,
it looks like he was too high above the water when I blew into his face, so he
closed his eyes and mouth, but then opened them by the time he was headed into
the alberca.
We stayed in the pool for
another 15 minutes plus, just to make sure he does not associate that one bad
dunk with the pool, and he seemed a-ok. Phew. Not happy it happened, but it
will only make him more experienced down the road.
After the pool, I headed
to Che y madre took care of the lil’hombre. No big scores at Che, we are set
for dinner on domingo y lunes, and I came home just in time for the 6pm rutina.
It went well and we even
managed to finish Max’s numbered cards before his hunger took over!! And two
days in a row…lights out.
So we ate la cena and then
madre started the process of making her rollo de canela…cinnamon buns. Stay
tuned.
1025pm and you are all
caught up.
Broken record…but mañana
we plan on going to Mojon!! Nascar at 2pm, but I have no problems missing some
of the race if that means we all have some playa time!!
Misc fotos.
Faces with names…
Here are mis padres, Max’s
Oma y Opa…his abuelos.
Those fotos are called the
King y Queen series. (waving from the balcony…)
Have a great domingo.
Marco, Bexico y Max
