TGIV…thank goodness it is viernes!!
Mucho siento for ayer's blog. Please note that it has been updated since the Canucks stunk up the joint.
The Easter weekend is here and that means more peeps in town and a few of the stores are even closed!! Elder, who fixes tires, closed his shop as did both the big construction supply tiendas.
Same routine for us…me off to the gym and Bexico did a workout at home.
A foto of the gardens around the condo buildings.
The 2 yard workers, Hector (silent H) and Marciano, do a great job. But there is one peligresso situation...ripe mangos falling from the trees.
The workout was good. Memo seems to let a few buddies in everyday…one that knows how to workout and then a few of his amigos friends that do not. Ja ja ja
I wanted to repay Yeu for allowing me to use the gym, and asked if he drank beer. Me no gusta was his reply. Good for him!! He does not like beer, booze, smokes or drugs!! I think I will stop in at the periodico store and buy him a muscle magazine…he seems to like those.
Here are the fotos from today y ayer.
Looks like a lot of people are waiting for the policia to release Bob.
Here Fonatur is keeping the parque neat y trimmed for the tourists.
Some stores are closed, but people still need to eat…and make a living.
The food carts by the parque never seem to take a day off.
Niether do these two folks.
A Coke and a smile!!
Have pintura y escaleras…will travel.
Again by the parque, these folks were selling plantas y flores.
Elder has the day off, but is advertising a furnished house for rent.
Familia de Dios is having a big shin dig for ninos.
Six days a week this senorita cooks some food early in the morning and then carts it over to the hielo factory to feed the guys working there.
Just some huevos.
In the industrial section, everyone is trying to make a few pesos.
The brick hombres are back.
I am sure the helado hombre makes more $$.
These peeps work in tiny restaurantes within the locals mercado. Here they are trying to convince peeps on the turismo bus to order some food, that they would then deliver to them.
This next foto shows what is just the reality here.
This is the traffic island I have included in previous fotos. Here a young girl is setting up her families goods to try and sell them.
Here are some fotos taken after gym and while I am headed home, via the zocalo.
Not sure where it is located, but there must be a circus in town.
I was late getting this foto…there is a tiger in the cage.
Why this taxi foto?
Primero...for the taxi foto collectors!! Hello!! Segundo, it is from Santa Maria Xadani, where the officials that control Mojon are located.
These chairs are popular here.
They sell for $150 pesos and I saw them on line in a TO store for $300 Cdn.
The Tamarindo series.
Long weekend…perfect time to make some extra $$. The team has staked out Blvd Chahue and Bumgabilia.
Here they have a taxi from Salina Cruz, about 150km east of Huatulco.
Funny story about this moto.
The Tamarindo confiscated it and 10 minutes later the tow truck driver drove off on it…with the Tamarindo on back!!
The area around the zocalo is so busy with vehicles, this Tam is actually patrolling a cross walk!!
A view looking down Bumgabilia.
It is busy in town!!
Interesting Mexicoism. Shops open and close weekly around here. They really need to work on their business plans.
This used to be a taller de joyeria…jewelry shop.
And less then a month ago this store was renovated and the alarm and ropa stores opened.
Hoy…they are gone!!
You see these displays on the front of most turismo buses as well as on the cars belonging to peeps on vacation.
I think it is the Virgin de Guadalupe.
And because some of the fotos were deemed boring by Anthony, here are some that I hope he enjoys.
It seems like Alinka wants to be the reyna de carnaval.
I saw these posters hung up around town….but no one else’s. Someone has $$...and REALLY wants to be the queen of the carnival!!
I think he really likes these types of fotos.
WFSITBOTT?
Hello…more sandia!!
And last but not least…an otra hard working hombre.
Hot weather and he is lugging around a huevo box full of sandals…just trying to make a living!!
The boys were NOT busy today. And ever since they bought the computer and internet connection, if they are not busy…they are watching YouTube videos.
Came home and helped Bexico finish up the mopping.
Bexico then had a scheduled call from Ottawa regarding another possible project. This one looks very promising and she will hear back from the hombre come miercoles.
Bexico also has another fish on the hook…a 4 second animated introduction to an e-book. Four seconds is not much, but the guy wants a lot of action in the 4 seconds. This contract is based in California and she hopes to hear back early next week in regards to both the samples she sent and her proposed fee.
We went to Che to load up. It was BUSY in there!!
Came home and had some alberca time with only a few other peeps. An hour later as we were coming back from a quick walk, there were no less then 50 people in and around the pool. In one more week it will be back to Bexico, myself and the 4 other full time families that live here.
Our walk was about red peppers and another cóctel de camarón para Bexico. This time she had it to go, as she wanted it for dinner.
Fun story is that the place was full and they all eyed her as she cheerfully greeted Carlos, got a friendly reply and had a nice chat with him in español.
They were busy so he asked her to regresas in diez minutos and when she came back, they had neatky packed her meal to go. Bexico wanted to leave a propina, but they said no. Maybe because it was a to-go order? We need to learn how to say “we insist” in español.
My cena was pasta con chorizo…spicy!!
We bumped into J&C by Carlo’s shop and they invited us to join them for a peliculas at the cine. We did not go as it was an 8pm show and had not started dinner yet. I think we are all having dinner together mañana…along with the peeps we met at R&H’s a few days ago.
Misc
Ayer I managed to have an iChat with M&P before they go away for 6 weeks. Buen viaje Madre y Padre!!
Hoy, I screwed up time zones (again), but managed to connect with mi amigo TS. Always good to catch up, even if Sidney does not want him to grow his hair into a style like mine!! Ja ja ja
Hola Sidney…always nice to say hello to you.
Currently…pounding back a few Coca-Light and watching Audrey in Roman Holiday!!
Mañana…el gimnasio at 11am, Mojon, possibly dinner out and then home to watch the Canucks win the series…in Chicago!!!
Buen fin de semana amigos!!
