Feliz Navidad to all!!
It was a tough call on which foto I would pick to open the blog post, so you end up with 3.
Max is geared up for the cold (please let there be snow) days of Whistler.
Santa's elves got into his eggnog.
Oh yes, Max was muy feliz today.
We think the day might have been a little overwhelming for the lil'man, because instead of acting a little wacky, which is the norm, there were some moments of super wacky!!
Ok, how was the día?
Early wake up and then there was a slumber until 615am or so. Then it was video time and make madre her tea time. We all trudged upstairs and were greeted with a great display of regalos that ol'man Saint Nick had left behind. As Max was saying all day, gracias Santa.
Max enjoyed opening all of his gifts, and even though there were no questions, I think he spent some time wondering about where his galletas y leche went.
By the time we were all done, it was 8am and prowl time.
We got back on schedule and had a tranquilo prowl...ghost town at 8am on Navidad. Huge desayunos...hola hola to pan frances miercoles!!
Some tranquilo time and then the very excited, but tired niño headed off for leche y siesta time. All he kept saying was water park y parque de agua, as that was were we were headed post comida.
A so-so siesta, Max did not get the best zzz....thus Poppa did not either. Once he was up and hanging out with his madre, I grabbed a few more minutos, but then it was time to get ready for the parque.
Only 15 minutos or so to the park, and once there we said hola to the lifeguard, an amigo of ours. We settled in and for the next hour plus, it was spent in the shallow and deep pools. Max worked his way up to going down the niño slide by himself...not sure how come he kept ending up sideways when he hit the agua!!
And then he surprised the heck out of me by actually jumping off a 4 foot foot bridge, into the water and the waiting hands of his madre. I figured once we were at the top of the bridge and looked down, there was no way he would do it.
We got to the top and were barely set, when he launched himself off. What a trooper!! And then how did he top that? He climbed up 4 flights of stair with his Poppa, and after a slight hesitation, we slid down the tallest water slide!! It was not a fast ride, and my 100 kilos came to a complete stop a few times, but Max had a blast and exited with a smile on his face!!
Some refrescos y papas frances (french themed Navidad?), some play time on the niño equipment that needs a good cleaning and some safety maintenance, and we were off to the condo.
Leche y relax time and then off we went again...out to Los Portales para la cena de Navidad.
Not the best service tonight, they had their B game on, but they are always friendly and we always know what to expect when the food arrives. Good eats and the lil'man ate a ton!!
A short prowl home, nice to be out as it was getting darker and cooler, and the lights were on too. Once home it was straight into tina time and at 725pm, round one of bedtime is almost up...gotta go.
Back in 30 minutos or so...hasta pronto.
Well, I am back...but pronto might not be the word to describe how fast I returned. A looooong bedtime, but at 830pm Max is lights out. Phew.
Onto the fotos.
Look carefully and you will see Bex, Max AND his ghost as they are about to climb the stairs to where the arbol de Navidad y regalos are.
The only way to get a non-blurry foto from the crappy Sony DSC W730, was to have Max lasso'd into a silla. Here he admires the arbol, wondering where his cookies went!!
Max is still working on calling this hombre Spiderman vs Superman.
Scoping out a new libro.
Oh yes, this is his favorite, and loudest, juguete.
Hmmm...they told me that this hat would fit 3 year olds. Ahhhhh.....no.
So Bex donated hers and now the lil'man's orejas, ears, will stay toasty warm!! Gracias madre!!
Tongue out...stand back!!
I have no idea what is up with this sullen look.
Maybe it was due to the fact that we were not going into the camioneta verde?
But as quick as that, something catches his eye.
Oh yes, he is also Señor Muy Curio!!
Ah, Max's rampa.
And after bolting down the rampa, the prowl can now really begin.
More dulces? No wonder there are so many gordito niños here!! This was given to him by a friendly senora who works at the comedor across the calle from the CP. Max liked the treat (he did not eat it), but did not like the beso she stole from his cheek!!
Might be time for some longer shorts?
The Mayor reflecting on his turf.
To be followed by the banco, bench, series of fotos.
Never seen before...this paleteria cerrado, closed. Feliz Navidad!!
Ok, Navidad is coming to a close and you are all caught up. Back to our normal rutinas, but we are now starting our countdown to the familia trip....lots to do.
Have a great jueves y hasta mañana!!
Marco, Bexico y Max
