Buenos tardes amigos!! 445pm and time to at least start the blog update.

Why are we not in the alberca? For only the 2nd time in almost un año, the pool is soooo sucio that we will not go into it. Uggggly.

Ok, that and the clima is overcast again. Where are we…Vancouver? Ja ja ja Did we mention that is has been almost a weeks without some sunny alberca time…we may come back to Canada pale!! Lol

Bexico update?

Her client in Paris emailed her to say hola. No work, but will keep her in mind as he likes her work and work ethic. Australia #1…finito y a $60 bonus on a $200 contract…cha-ching!! Australia #2… a $1000 contract and he will let her know in a few days if she has been chosen for the project. They have batted a few emails back and forth, he has seen her work, it just comes down to him making the final call. Fingers crossed.

China has 3 hours left on the meter and he is spending his hours on refining his characters. When his “meter” runs out, we hope he decides to spend some $$ on clean up and coloring. Bexico update as she makes ensaladas…revisions are almost done…onto the next steps.

Her Ottawa contract wanted a few revisions and the good thing here is that this is an hourly gig.

And she has a lead on a film for Singapore. Here she needs to send in a sample and it might lead to some good work.

So Bexico remains busy. And? Hello new Mac computer!! We ordered it today…the website states 3-5 business days…but times it as Sept 19-21? Hmmmm?

Bexico had a great chat with a Mac guy and they also batted around a few emails. Bottom line, not much she could do with her 5 year old Mac other then a new operating system. But that still leaves her with the old memory y processor.

Better to get something that will allow her to progress with her work and that won’t be too obsolete (ja ja ja) next year!! So we are both excited to see her new tool in action.

Misc ongoings?

Our carpintero called us and told us that they could not get our mesa finished before the 22nd. No good. We chatted and she was going to refund our money, but I walked there despues de el gimnsaio y we agreed to have the mesa ready for when we return in diciembre. We will go inspect it, pay for it if we like it, and they can deliver it the next day. It all worked out.

Things broken or damaged? I scrapped the front bumper of the camioneta. Argh. I was heading into the complex and I knew I was close to the gate pillar when someone (hello Ricardo!!) motioned that I had enough clearance. Guess what? No I did not!! Not too bad a scrape, but noticeable. A memory of Ricardo while we are away? He felt bad and has a friend who might be able to polish it out. Stay tuned.

Talking about camionetas and all…look at this Mexican built vehicle. Wonder how many Mexicans can afford it?

And what else did I do? All of this was yesterday…a good reason to skip a blog update and collect my senses!! Ja ja ja

So I was in B10 trying my handiwork on reattaching some handles onto the aluminum window frames. One was completely off and one had one rivet broken. I am thinking to drill a small hole, use a metal screw instead of the rivet.

Well the first hole and screw worked well. The second? As I screwed in the handle, the pane of vidrio (glass) cracked. Argh. Good news? The second window did not crack…quick learner? Lol

More good news? I went to a vidrieria (?) and they quoted me $430 pesos and when I went back with the window, the price is now $295!! And one hour service to boot.

I should have the window back by the time Petra is finished cleaning the condo. We walked through it together and she just kept saying sí and todo…all of it. It should be spotless for when we move in and we will use her again for cleaning G10 when we move out.

New toaster is ready for B10…special feature only toasts the cut side of the bagel…viva Mexico!!

Getting ready for the trip items? Great idea from Bexico…have mi amigo Tony drive her to the airport proxima miercoles. I saw him driving through town (also saw Fermin) and asked him if he could…and it is all arranged. He will even come upstairs to help with the luggage!! Mis amigos!!

I also headed to Arrocito to see if I could grab the surfboards from casa de R&H, but no one had the clave/llave…key. Oh oh. Seems like the person that does have the key, will be back martes….the day before we leave. Here’s hoping or else mucho siento Nick.

Did I tell you that ayer I had another first time experience? I was actually stopped on the street by a senor y senorita in a camioneta and they asked me for directions to Puerto Escondido!! Good thing I understood what they were asking and also knew how to point them to the carretera/autopista…highway.

Cool video?

This was written by mi amigo Mike Averill and he is one of the guitar players in the song.

Felicidades Mubba!!

Gato update?

After many days of asking the same question…¿dónde están los gatos?...we finally have the truth.

It seems they were being fed the wrong items by someone, and we saw Gata Negra rid herself of the bad tuna. I guess this was enough for them to be banished from the complex. Good news? Hector (silent H) has Gata Negra y Gato Blanco is with someone in Sector U. Adios mis amigos!!

My day? Throw in el gimnsio and add getting the window fixed, talking with Tony, visiting the carpintero, ordering the Mac, looking into B10…and that was my day.

710pm and B10 is officially cleaned (ok…we have a few spots we failed to notice…but will take 10 minutes to finish mañana) and has it’s new window installed!!

Almost time for la cena…pasta con meat sauce…molida res y chorizo for yo, sin chorizo para mi novia!!

Did I mention that it is dengue fever time here in Huatulco? Daniel warned me about it…symptoms are headache, sore bones and upset stomach. Worse thing you can take? Aspirin.

If you have the symptoms, you go to Salud and they take a blood test. You find out very fast (or so I am told) and then it is all about bed rest.

Here, have a read on dengue fever.

Moving on to much a much safer subject, fotos.

No real theme to these next ones.

Muebles de madera.

These are hombres at the grocery store. I cannot believe they are actually weighing the produce to ensure they get the correct purchases. If only they were as diligent in other things…hello basura!!

Tres hermanas coming back from escuela. Check out the socks on la hermana mayor…the oldest sister.

Outside a comedor.

There is a niño in the hammock and this is where they rock him to sleep for his siestas.

Viva la Mexico!!

From the walk to the carpinteros y calle Artisano.

And this is a sign you see entering La Crucecita. Note the tamarindo speed trap hitting up people headed to the industrial section.

Los animales.

Nice to have these two out front of your grocery store?

Los gatos.

And last but not least.

Tony popped by and applied this calcomanía (decal) on the camioneta. Mi gusta mucha!! Gracias mis amigos de Nissan.

945pm…calling it a day. Had a bad connection iChat with mi padre, so I plugged in MJ to say hola. Nice to see them in a few weeks.

Don’t want to jinx it, but we have had almost no humido for the past 3 days!! Is it over? 26,7 grados at 945pm? Hello!!!

Hasta mañana amigos.

Marco y Bexico
