The weekend is here…finally. Sabado…are you all practicing your Espanol?
Anoche was our coolest night yet!! A low of 19.4 and a high of 32.4.
Today we loaded our beach gear and headed out. Our plan was to look at a few playas west of Santa Cruz and if we saw something we liked, plant ourselves. And if not, we would head to La Bocana.
The road past Santa Cruz will lead you to quarto playa and nothing beyond them. The first turn off is for Playa Entrega and if you keep going, you will end up at a dual bahai (bay) and playas of Organo y Maguey (a mescal type plant used to make tequila…gracias Padre). And the last play is Cacaluta.
We decided to go to the furthest playa first, and then make our way back. At the turnoff to Entrega, we picked up a guy on a scooter who followed us and then passed us. I rolled down the window and asked que pasa? He wanted to know if we needed to rent snorkel gear etc. Funny stuff. We said no and continued on.
A lot of roadwork to the playas…development is coming. We decided not to make the turn to Cacaluta as it was another 3 km and it was heavy with construcion. At Maguey, people who are “selling” you a parking spot, meet you. To throw them off, I roll down my window and say bonjour. The deal? I asked and it is as follows. Free parking, but you must eat and use the services of their restaurants on the playa. Lol
We were only looking, so we left and headed back to Entrega. First we stopped at El Faro, the lighthouse where the bufadero is located. Here are some photos.
A cactus and its bloom.
A boat with tourists. They go up ad down the coast looking at the different playas and bahias (35 of them) as well as the bufadero.
We walked over fences, up and down rock paths and came upon the bufadero. Bexico heard it first. A woosh as the waves came in and out. BUT…we must find out when high tide is as we heard it, but did not see it. Next time!!
At the Faro, we met another guy trying to get us to rent gear at Entrega…and then we saw him zip up and down the hill on a scooter looking for new sales.
Drove down to Entrega, where you are greeted by even more people wanting to “help” you park your car as well as rent you snorkel gear. Entrega is a local’s playa and it can get quite crowded. It does have calm waves so it is nicer for swimming, but too crowded for us.
So off to La Bocana. No surfing or boogie boarding today, but we had some great sun, read some more of our books and Bexico went for an ocean dip. She loves the salt water.
Here are a few photos from la Bocana.
Just a lil’nino running. The word nino covers all kids as well as boys. Nina is for young girls only.
This boy was mischievous and he reminded me of myself at that age. He is admiring his work after setting off something that had a big spark and created all this smoke.
Just a nice photo (I thought). I saw someone else had used branches like this to make up some football-soccer posts on the playa.
And for Bono and the numero #1 fan of the band (TS), here is our taxi photo.
NOT to be confused with a taxi from U2 Norte!!
545pm…off to Blue to post the blog and then back home to have some quesadillas por la cena. Depending on the events manana, there might not be a blog update until Lunes. Might be a full NFL Domingo!!
Enjoy your Domingo!!
Hasta luego.
