Max, at playa Mojon, wolfing down some huevos de tortuga...more on that later.
Buenos tardes!! Wacky day...currently 425pm, the pork roast is in the oven, I am watching some Nationwide racing, and the familia is out and about. I think they are either on a prowl, or have headed to a Play Palace for some Max fun.
And how has our día been so far? It started awesome!! Max was lights out before 8pm and with only one 5 minute interruption, we woke up at 6am. Score!!
We did watch some videos and after getting madre her cup of tea, we started getting ready for our Mojon trip.
I think this is where the hiccup occurred. Bex and I are going to chat it up tonight, but we need to rethink going to Mojon first thing in the día.
Max was a-ok and then as we headed out in the camioneta verde, he started to let us know that he was not happy in the car and car seat, and wanted out. He mentioned the word "sick" a few times, and we pulled over once to see if he was going to mess up the car seat.
Good news is that he didn't...phew. It is only 30 minutos to Mojon, but that is a lifetime for a niño who normally spends no more then 5 minutes in the truck and car seat.
We made it to Mojon and will go through the fotos to describe our time there.
The road past our lot.
Our parking spot, nicely cleared by Roman's crew.
And this is where we ended up parking our camioneta, because someone was clearing the corner lot and decided to throw everything into the calle. Dumb a**es.
The cleared pathway from the calle, though our lot and onto the playa.
As we were about to pitch our sombrilla (umbrella used in the sun), we saw this hole where a tortuga had laid it's huevos.
And look what we found climbing their way out of the hole and heading to the oceano.
It looks like some perros might have gotten to the nest, as well as to some of the tortugas, but we scooped up a few and helped them make their journey to the agua.
Trucker Max taking a look at the tortugas.
Poppa releasing a few into the oceano.
Max, eating a huevo de pollo (not tortuga you sillies), and watching his Poppa conduct a tortuga release.
And then coming down to see the last 2 head off into the oceano.
Click HERE if you are interested in reading more about sea turtles. We helped 10 get into the water...did you know the survival rates for sea turtles reaching adulthood is 1 in 1,000 to 10,000?
As you can see, Mother Nature has replaced a lot of the sand on playa Mojon.
The lil'man.
Fresh from her swim...Momma. Oh yes, she is the most tonta, silly, momma I know!!
The boys working on desayunos.
Hopefully in the next 10 days, we will have a new palapa to plop ourselves under.
So, as 10am rolled around, Max's demeanor changed and it was time to go. The whole ride home, all he wanted was out, asking us "go for walk" and mentioning "alberca". There were some tears, but Bex pulled herself together. Kidding...Max managed to make it almost to the CP...and then fell asleep in the car seat.
That is muy raro...you are more apt to see the Sasquatch.
We get home and the second we move Max, trying to get him upstairs and into bed, he is upset. One unhappy camper. More tears, and I manage to pull myself together.
Bex takes the lil'man and after 20 plus minutes, he is lights out. Phew.
We figure Max is a creature of rutinas, and we missed our AM prowl, pan, desayunos in his high chair, AND familia swim.
We might end up taking him pre-nap, seeing if he can sleep in the truck and/or at the playa, and then spending the afternoon at the beach.
Mojon was fun, getting up early, getting there, getting home and then getting Max back to sleep for his siesta...was a little (lol) less fun.
Bex had been a trooper!! I slept from 1030pm until 6am, Bex from 130am until 630am. Doph.
So she took the siesta with the lil'man..score!! And for some wacky reason...I was not tired.
I headed out to grab some goods for tomorrow's cena, pollo reggianno, and then headed off to el gimnasio. Wacky to be leaving the house at noon, vs my normal 2pm!!
A good workout and when I came home, the familia had finished a good siesta and had eaten their comida. Familia swim time!!
A good swim and all Max wants to do is tread water!!
Upstairs to get ready for their afternoon out, and padre was called into "corral" duty...corralling Max to get him changed as well as lubed up (sunscreen).
And that is the día so far.
The last fotos of the día.
Not everyone here works this hard, but kudos to these travelling shoe salesmen.
It is cold in Mexico City...I saw a clip of a partido de futbol, a soccer match, being played in DF, and all the spectators were wearing pants and warm jackets.
Cold in DF, thus we see a lot more of these turismo buses here in town. Lots more!!
Packed full of blankets and pillows for sale.
Dry season, and this is how residents repair baches, potholes, in their calles. Just fill them with dirt. Doph.
Spanish lesson of the day.
"There will be clowns"...who knew?
Farmers market? This camioneta is always full of great looking fruta, and seems to do a brisk business.
Buenos noches. Currently 730pm and round 1 is almost up. How does a 2 year old niño exhaust his padres? Ja ja ja
Bex y Max had a great post-alberca afternoon. A little prowl, where they purchased a pair of pants for Max to wear while in Canada (brrr), and then headed to the Play Palace.
Home for leche and some book reading, and then onto yummy pork roast con papas puree!!
Tranquilo time, some time looking at the reflection of the luces de navidad, and then off to tina time. And you are all caught up.
Last race of the season is mañana...2pm Huatulco time!!
Last foto.
Someone has discovered the joys of running around the condo in the buff.
Have a great domingo y hasta mañana.
Marco, Bex y bare bum Max
