\

It was just that kind of movie star day.

Buenos noches. We had a great day, with the best part of the día for all of us being Max's time on the boogey board. We were at Mojon and the olas were not too grande, but they roll in frequently, more often then Max is used to at playas Chahue o Santa Cruz.

This makes him a bit timido, and he had been avoiding the oceano. But bring out the boogey board and the Laird Hamilton in him comes out!!

With one of us holding the back of the board and with the other holding Max's hands as he stands on the board, we point the board towards the incoming olas and we all go for a ride!!

The wave comes in, Max rides the wave and just giggles and laughs. We did this for a good 20 minutos and we were all pooped by the time we came back to the shore. But what a fun time!!

As for the rest of the day, it seems it was a go go day, that started for Bex y Max at 520am, and for Poppa at 645am. Madre, thanks for the sleep in!!

It was a pretty straight forward day, AM rutina, siesta, Mojon and then la cena. Easy peasy.

The prowl? Lil'man and Poppa took a walk to Sorianas and Max was soooo well behaved. Very quiet in there at 815am, so we had free roam of the aisles etc. Max picked out a die cast convertible, Poppa found some BBQ lighter fluid for NYE (to be bought later), picked up some Betty Crocker blueberry (mora azul) muffin mix and some pan (baked muffins) for the boys.

We were about to head to the caja, cashier, when someone called out "Max"...of course they did. Who was it? The 40'ish year old hombre that used to pack our groceries at Che!! A familiar face!! We always went into whatever line up he was working, as he is a good packer and a nice hombre.

We paid up and then hit the tables y chairs so we could eat our pan. Max was slightly confused as to why we could not eat them before we paid for them, like we do at the panificadora, so we sat down and chatted it up. And then gobbled them down!!

Post prowl, home for a huge desayunos, some tranquilo time, leche time and then siesta time.

Bex had us ready to roll once we were awake, and off to Mojon we went. All was good until...we turned off the highway onto the 2 km dirt road to the playa.

Poor lil'guy has the inherited motion sickness and just decided it was time to adios whatever he had left in his tummy. Bex to the rescue and she captured (?) most of it and we made it down to the palapa.

We all love the playa and palapa...tranquilo...and we love watching Max run up and down the playa. Vida es buena!!

A later start back to town, but we made it in one piece. The familia headed off to the CP alberca for clean up and a quick dip, and Poppa was headed upstairs for condo clean up, PM rutina set up and to start la cena...steak sábado.

Good dinner and due to a small comida, lunch (but comida also means meal), Max ate a huge dinner!!

Easy clean up and due to a short tina time, we were back on schedule for bedtime. And how was bedtime? Bex had the first 30 minuto shift and when I took over, I think Max said 2 sentences to me before he was lights out.

Plopped into the cuna and all is well. Currently 920pm and Bex is hard at work in the oficina, Max remains lights out and Poppa is keeping you all in the loop.

Onto fotos.

Sprinkler sábado...and you can never have too many sprinkler fotos.

The prowl has officially started.

Grabbing the poste vs Poppa's leg. ¿Por que? Check out the reflection in his lentes...people!!

Strolling Rodeo Drive.

On the way to Sorianas and we spotted these amigos loading up.

We are figuring it they are loading their bolsas with tines, socks, for sale.

After being such a good niño during our Soriana prowl, Max plops down for his pan.

And shows off his new tines (socks) y carro (car).

You are all caught up. Mañana? Futbol domingo y lomo cerdo para la cena.

Hasta mañana.

Poppa...I think I have 515am bed head.

What do these 2 amigos have in common?

You might recognize the hombre that also wakes up at the "crack" of dawn! He knows Max's nombre and says hola whenever we see him,

Buenos tardes!! 450pm and I am about to start cooking la cena. The familia is out and about...first stop was a visit to a Palace, to try and sell our Conejito swing...score!! Well...maybe...stay tuned. And then they are off on an adventura to Arrocito and the Cosmos condos. They know a familia that live there and they were invited to a fiesta de alberca...pool party.

They will be back at 545pm and we will see if we unloaded the swing and if Bex found the condos!! Stay tuned.

How was the día? What do "they" say? What does not kill you, only makes you stronger? Not hating, just stating...the 515am wake up was one thing, but the 530am yakking up leche on the bed y pillows was another. Any of you recall what regurgitated milk smells like...at 530am?

Max looks at me like "what happened there, Poppa?" and I look at him with the same look. New shirt, change a few pillow cases, toss a pillow out of the room before I gag and lay a few pillow cases on the bed sheets so I don't have to change it right away...and then back to Poppa snoozing and Max watching tractors.

And what were you doing at 530am?

Too early of a wake up for pre-siesta familia swim, that and it was Che viernes, so the boys rolled into the Palace at 645am and were out the door at 720am for the AM prowl.

Needing to be home at 815am, we headed to the escuela to get some fresh piña and say hola to all of Max's amigos. Best part of the prowl? Max chasing me...or was I chasing him...around one of the palmas. Hearing him giggle is such a treat!!

Home for desayunos and then out the door to Che. No score and by this time Max had been awake for almost 5 hours...and even though he was feliz, happy, he was a hand full or two.

I managed to keep the situation under control and we made it home in good shape...to be rescued by Momma!!

Upstairs for leche y siesta and Poppa was in on the siesta action...lights out!!

Good sleep and then off for a familia swim. I headed off to el gimnasio and the familia had their comida and then were out the door as well.

And at 515pm...you are caught up. Onto the fotos!!

Max is onto my trick of asking him to look into the camera...so I can "test" it.

But sometimes he is caught off guard...score!!

Cheerio down.

With a look like this, I am thinking he has spotted boobies.

Max LOVES banderas, flags, and here he is making sure I know there is one (still...everyday) above the panificadora.

There is an OMNILIFE distributor on this block, and they have a curtain pulled, blocking out the view of the senoritas dancing off a few kilos. But Max knows where to stand to get a peek....but I think he might have been traumatized by what he saw.

At the escuela and it is post piña, with Max knowing exactly where the basura is deposited. So proud!!

Super friendly pit-bull mix, but since we do not know his name, I told Max we needed to stay out of it's reach. Max was cool with that answer...until he told me the dog's name was Pedro...perro Pedro. Hilarious.

Need a ladder or long duster?

I cannot get fresh milk in Huatulco, but I can look up and down 2 different calles, and get as many escaleras y dusters as I want. Doph.

Headed home from el gimnasio, and I see this stream of peeps, all carrying their bolsas de Soriana.

Knock one more item off my bucket list...a visit to a Sorianas on it's primera día!!

Yes, I did go in...and will not be back until Soriana martes, con mi familia. We will need both padres...just to keep Max under control as he will go wacko in there.

It is a very good tienda, lots of selection, good looking carne and my price index (panales) looks like it is the lowest in town.

It was wacky busy in there but I did see a bunch of peeps that know Max...and a few that knew me. Ja ja ja. Stay tuned for martes blog update for more Soriana updates. Oh...on that note, mi amigo Raphael says he heard on the radio that a Walmart (small) is coming to town proximo año. Wow...big town of Huatulco!!

Oh, did I mention that they too do NOT carry leche fresca? No fresh milk in this whole town!!

The BEST thing I heard come out of Max's boca today? No, it wasn't the "playa Mojon" I heard at 2am, but rather what he said when I asked him if he wanted ketchup with his huevos.

Normalmente the answer would be a straight reply of "ketchup", but today it was "of course". Hilarious!! I don't know where he learned that from as when I asked him in front of his madre, he repeated it and she hadn't taught it to him. Muy inteligente!!

Ok, waiting for the familia to return with exciting updates. I will finish this tonight.

Hasta pronto.

Buenos noches and at 720pm, round one of bed time is well under way!!

Happy to report that the familia had a very successful afternoon. First stop was the Palace and we have freed up some room in the condo because Bex managed to sell off the conejito swing...score!!

After the Palace, they found their way to the Cosmos and had a fun time with the senora y niño, Tyler. He is slightly older then Max, and baño trained, but gets his butt kicked by Max in the pool!!!

They came home right on time para la cena and then it was clean up and right into tina time y FT con Oma y Opa.

And that was our viernes. Off to playa Mojon tomorrow...it will be fun!!

Have a great weekend, buen fin de semana.

The look of a muy tonto niño, that woke up at 615am!! Score!!

One nightmare that after he stood up in his cuna and scared the poo out of me, he managed to put himself back to sleep after, one wake up where he needed a quick hola hola and then at 430am or so, he needed some "manos" and we slept that way until 615am.

The sleep in allowed for a quick early AM rutina and then off for a prowl and a familia swim. A busy morning for the Van-Arnolds!!

A fun prowl, hello, and the best part for me was Max hovering over his padre as I un-rolled a rollo canela, cinnamon bun, so he could scarf down the pasas. Hovering like a buzzard...hilarious.

Good desayunos and a super fun swim and then off to leche y siesta.

Madre woke up Poppa and I got ready for el gimansio, and she scored on some siesta time with her hijo!!

Adios to the familia as they were starting their comida, but after they had a prowl around town, I was thrilled to see them stop in at el gimnasio.

A little dancing in the gym with his padre, and then some besitos, and they were off to the twins Palace.

Post gym, I prowled town looking for some special focos, lightbulbs, for the ventiladors...and struck out 3 times. The ones we have are too hot and they are causing the issues, so we will see if we can find them when we go back to BC.

Then it was off to say hola to mis amigos at the jewellery store and we spent some time talking about the difference between the palabras enojado vs enfadado. Por que?

When out on a prowl with Max, if he decides to say NO when someone says hola to him, they ask if he is enojado, angry. I try to explain that he is actually muy feliz, happy, but he gets tired of all the peeps wanting his attention.

Daniel tells me there is an otra palabra, enfadado, that can mean angry, but is more often used to describe a mood that is "oh, I am happy....but leave me alone". Perfecto!! I will try it out mañana and see what the peeps do when I answer them "no, Max está enfadado". Stay tuned.

Adios to mis amigos and then home for clean up and getting ready for the PM rutina. Easy dinner...Bubba burger jueves!!

The familia returned from their time at the Palace and after some leche y tranquilo time, it was tiempo para la cena.

Good dinner, easy clean up and then it was time for Party Palace time. A very short FT con Oma y Opa as they were out of their condo, and then it was familia dance party time!! Max asks for Madonna by name, and as soon as the songs start, he starts dancing.

Soon after, he asks us to join him, telling Poppa "no shoes" and I need to kick off my flip flops. And with tina time around the corner, we give him the ok, and he rips off the panale for some naked Max dance party!! Hilarious to watch.

Tina time, a long'ish bedtime and you are all caught up.

Fotos!!

Sprinkler jueves.

Prowling the grounds before we head out...pit stop to check out Max's alberca.

Behind this bush is a smiling y tonto niño!!

Onto the prowl.

Max is looking past the gate at a casa/restaurnate that has some ceramic sols y lunas hanging on it's walls.

And he is making sure I have seen them. Hey Max...loving the hair do!!

Cheerio face!!

Misc...I am not sure if I have shared this before...but when I am out and about, I am called Max, a lot. I take it as a compliment and have figured out that they call me Max, because our hijo's nombre is Max and here in Mexico, your son is often called the same name as the Poppa.

I mentioned looking at changing our NYE plans from a bonfire at medianoche, midnight, to an early evening...and I am getting quite excited about it. Thinking about going to Mojon after siesta, comida and maybe some prowling.

If we get there by 4pm or so, we have a few hours of light and then we will start a pit bbq to reheat our cena (burgers? pollo?) and when the sun goes down...bonfire y malvaviscos, marshmallows!!

Push Max's bedtime by an hour or so and then head home. Sounds fun!!

Oh...we also have arbol de navidad decorating coming up!! This will be exciting and fotos will be posted!!

Ok, that's all. Mañana is Che viernes and we are thinking about heading to Mojon on sábadao...leaving domingo for some futbol!!

Have a great Black Friday y hasta mañana!!

As seen through the rear view mirror...two cool customers on their way to playa Mojon!! (we were at the stop light)

Wow, what a difference today was. First off, the trip to and from Mojon was a pleasure!! Not sure what the difference was with Max vs the last time, but he was in great spirits. Score!!

And esta noche, tonight, falling asleep took a total of 50 minutos vs the 90 it took last night. Doble score!!

The lil'man had a full día and was pooped by the end of it. All he wanted to hear as he fell asleep, was me singing "the ity bity ider song"...he is still working on his s's.

Overall, a great day that started muy temprano as Max woke up at 5am and the first thing out of his boca was the word "alberca", pool. I guess he was dreaming about some swimming!!

We managed to slumber for another 30 minutos, but at 530am he was up and looking for his leche y videos.

So we followed our usual early morning rutina and due to the 5am wake up, there would be no pre-siesta familia swim.

We had a nice and long prowl, with the first 30 minutes of it being spent right her on the CP grounds...but after the "dance" was over, we went back upstairs, changed the panale and were on our way!!

After the prowl, time for a huge desayunos...hola hola to pan frances miercoles, and then onto some tranquilo time and then siesta time.

Post siesta...we loaded up and were off to playa Mojon. Thanks to Momma, we were set up with Max's comida and some other treats in the cooler...score y gracias madre!!

A super time at the playa...Max had a blast and so did we. We had some squatters under our palapa, Jay y Crista, so while Max played with madre on the playa, I hung out under the palapa with it's cool breeze.

But when Bex went for a boogey board, Max hung out with us and was such a fun character. Not timido and after some leche y sandwich, he was a super well behaved and funny lil'man...muy tonto!!

After a few hours we headed home and as the familia headed to the alberca to clean up and have a swim, Poppa was upstairs getting the condo ready for the PM rutina y cooking up la cena. I must say, I am enjoying the Bubba fajitas!!

We ran late, so there was a very short tranquilo time in the Palace, and then off to tina time and as Max wanted out, it was off to the bedroom.

Books y leche, followed by Poppa's singing, and it was lights out in the cuna. Score!!

Currently 915pm and as the lil'man dreams about albercas, Bex is hard at work in the oficina and Bubba types away while keeping one ojo on the screen and one on the tele.

Onto the fotos.

What's this, a foto of Max looking into the camera? Score!!

What, you thought you would see two of those in a row? Dreamer!! But you do get a good view of the Max Van chinos!!

Max has picked up this hoja, to be used in his cleaning up of the hormigas. This took 15 minutes...stay tuned for the fotos!!

Oh hormigas...I see you down there!!

People!!

Back to work.

Hmmm...how will I clear the hormigas out of my arbol favrito?

Poste...no hormingas.

Poppa!!!

Must...go...now.

All good, Cheerios in hand and the hoja in Poppas bolsillo, pocket.

But not for long, as there are more hormigas that need sweeping away!!

I LOVE the fact that our hijo does not mind being tonto, silly...like his padre y madre!!

After a hard afternoon on the playa...time to tanque up on the leche!!

Not sure how he received the sand patch on his face...doph.

Every now and then, I see a foto that makes me stop and say "poor kid...looks like his Poppa", and this next foto would be one!!

Super zoom from the Sony DSC-W730...I think that is the Mexican navy, the marinas.

Misc tid bit...Jerry, our cleaner, asked me if we were celebrating Día Gracias this week. Huh? Until I figured out she was referring to the American Thanksgiving. I spent some time talking to her about Black Friday and she was amazed that people looking for gran ofertas, great sales, would wait outside tiendas at midnight.

Ok, you are all caught up. Have a great jueves y hasta mañana!!
