Pensive Max at 745am.

Hola hola from the chill room. It is 815pm and 30,5 grados outside this room, and a nice and cool 27,0 grados inside!!

And how is the lil’patient? Max was still baja energia, low energy, today, so we made the call and at 11am we were booked in for a 2pm cita con la doctora.

Good thing as after his siesta he still had quite the fever and was sluggish.

Bex carried him in the sling to the doctor and promptly at 220pm, she arrived. Doph. A friendly doctor and she loved hearing Max make his caballo sounds!!

A good check up and she told us Max has a throat infection. A prescription for 2 types of meds, keeping in mind that Max had an allergic reaction to the penicillin he was given last time.

$400 pesos for the visit, we know what s wrong and we also know that Max now tips the scales at 13,05 kilos!!

It was tough finding one of the meds, the farmacias had the right stuff, but at the wrong strength. But on my 5th stop, score!! Score for all, as it was another $400 pesos for the meds.

So round one of the meds was given and we need to get a bigger turkey baster!! The syringes we have hold 2ml and Max needs 5ml of one med and 3.5ml of another, so it is a pain in the butt. That and Max does not enjoy taking so many meds…who would?

Happy to report that post playa, Max’s fever seemed to be gone and his energy seemed to be picking up as the PM rutina wore on.

But he was pooped from being ill and having another full day, even though we took it easy. So when I came in at 805pm to check on the familia, he was lights out and muy raro, limp like a rag doll.

Fingers crossed for a good nights sleep as that is what he really needs, what we all really need.

As for the rest of the día…we had our prowl and desayunos, and just as we were getting ready for a quick 2nd prowl and famila alberca time, the hombres arrived for the security bar installation. Doph.

So Bex ended up taking Max for the run to SCA, hello…apple sauce is back in town, and then also had the pool time.

Me? I spent time chatting up the 2 hombres while they drilled holes and installed one of the sets of bars.

Not exactly as I had designed and shown them, but it will do a-ok…I will just need to fill some holes in the concreto when we leave!!

Pretty straight forward bars, and they can be removed when we need to shut the windows due to viento o lluvia.

The boys had only brought one and were going to come back in an hour, but that would have been during Max’s siesta, so I asked them to come back at 3pm, post cita con la doctora.

No problem they said, and even apologized for being tarde…1030am for a 10am scheduled time. Oh well, viva Mexico!!

I was hunting for meds when they arrived and were hard at work upon my return.

Bex y Max ate their comida and then took the camioneta, to stay cool, off to the playa.

I hung out with the guys, checked their work, paid them the balance of the cuenta and then gave them a propina. I knew the $$ for the bill was going to the patron, boss, and the guys that did the 2 hours of installation would not see much of it.

They were very thankful and off they went and I went into clean up mode and pre-cena prep.

No time for the gym, so off to grab some sol at the alberca. Muy raro these past 2 months, and even rarer to have the sun stick around after 3 or 4pm.

No complaints, but wow was it hot. I must be getting old as I could not take the heat and had to sit in the pool!!

The familia retuned and after some leche, clean up and book reading, it was time para la cena.

Good eats, a good FT con Oma, Opa y Max’s prima, Nicole, and then off to bed…and you are all caught up.

Bex is putting in a few hours of work and then is off to bed as she is fighting a sore throat…doph. That means padre has the night shift with middle of the night panale change and medication dispensing!!

Fotos.

Good to see Max keeping his ojos peeled for things that will make him trip!!

Holy bed head Max!!

Max had been making a bolt down the sidewalk when he was called back due the entrance to the parking lot next door.

Oh padre, ahhhh frig!!

Not the best day to have Max drive the bus, but his amigo gave it a shot.

In this town, I know of only one place that you can get a car window replaced.

Or you can use plastic.

A little tough to read, but here is today's Spanish lesson.

It was a machine shop and "nos cambiamos al fondo" means "we moved to the bottom", pointing to the end of the calle.

Mañana…it is miercoles. Nothing special planned but if Max is up for it, we will head to the hospital and check on his vacuna. We will not get it until he is feeling better, but it will be good to know if it is available.

Here’s hoping Max is feeling better, and all our amigos in Toronto are staying seco, dry!!

Hasta luego.

Marco, Bexico y Max
