Today's blog update is brought to you by the letter O.
Buenos noches!! I hope
every one had a great domingo!!
Our Sunday was super…we
are tired, but it was a fun day.
Best part of the day?
Going to Pucks, spending some time with Karen y Randy and eating French fries?
Good…but not the best. Watching the race, seeing JJ almost win it, but have his
engine fail with 6 laps left? Very good…but not the best.
The best? After spending
some time watching the race, max went downstairs with madre and had a crawl. He
had a purpose to his crawl and he went from the area below our building, and
all the way to our camioneta.
Madre picked him up to
move him back, and he very deliberately let her know that he wanted some
camioneta time.
Ok…back to grab the car
key and I went down 5 minutes later to see Max standing on the drivers seat
with a HUGE smile on his face. The lil’driver is a natural.
So we turned on the truck
(and the a/c) and sat around while Max played. It was then that the decision to
go to Pucks was made.
Simple…but still the best
part of the day.
What else did we do today?
Our walk took us to
Isssste…I am sure they are hanging on by a thread. The shelves are getting
barer and barer every day. We went for some wipes and Opa towel (paper towel),
but they were out of both. We ended up with some of madre’s tea biscuits
instead. Doph.
Ayer, we were in the same
vicinity and crossed the street to the tiangus. Madre y Max had joined me for
the walk to el gimnasio and we ended up buying max a few more shirts. Muscle
shirts are $25 pesos and playeras, shirts with short sleeves, set us back $30
pesos.
As well yesterday, hola to
our FM3 fotos and while we waited for them, we went to another tiangus and
found Max a great styling Huatulco shirt for his big trip to TO. We want him
warm, but looking good!!
More time to kill, so Los
Portales for a bevy and that allowed Max more time to “up and down” on a chair
for some 15 minutes. The niño has a ton of energy!!
And with a trip to Canada
happening, we have ordered a few clothing items for Max to be delivered to
Bex’s hermana, where the two of them will be staying while in Ontario.
For niños in Huatulco, you
can get basic jugetes (toys) and lot’s of ropa, but not the good quality shorts
and swim wear that you find norte. So we order some and I am sure madre y Max
will come back with some toys as well. iPad anyone?
That pretty much sums up
the comings and goings of the Van-Arnold familia.
Ok…here come a ton of
fotos from the past 2 days.
One day...one day Max will know what secrets lay behind the blue cushion.
Just prowling around...iguana verde.
With tail, it was over a meter long.
This is one VERY loaded camion...full of chest of drawers for sale.
Driving rule in Mexico...be VERY wary of those trucks and pass them asap.
Dos pero.
Sign on a cantina. I took the foto because I understand they sell something, but not sure what cahuamas is/are.
They need to replace their sign maker. The word is caguamas, not cahuamas, and it refers to BIG beers...34 ounces!! Ouch.
A Mexican cowboy selling "herbs". Hmmmm?
Max in his new playera.
The lunch time series.
From our walk this morning.
Looks like the tree trimmers have taken a break in the cantina? Or did they start there and thus the 2 motos are surrounded by branches?
Sábado por la noche looks like it was busy for the policia.
Tamarindo seeds.
A camioneta weighed down by bed frames.
The hombres who sell the bed frames.
All those frames...all they need is one colchón...mattress.
Talking about sleepy...the ever elusive foto of the lil'chest napper in action.
Still trying to figure out how to get lil'Pudge out of the Jack in the Box.
And mid comida...a little siesta.
Mañana…hola to Inmigracion and fingers crossed that I have everything we need. Stay tuned.
We had a mixed day weather wise, hoping for some sol to warm up the alberca so Max can get back to doing his laps. With his gripe and the lluvia, it has been 2 weeks or so since Max has had his dunks. Maybe tomorrow!!
Marco, Bexico y Max
