Buenos noches. Hoy est martes el 15 de febrero de 2011. Not sure where the “el” comes in, but that is what our maestra uses, so I have now adopted it.

Busy day, lots to see and experience. The best part for me? Other then our tareas (homework) of using some nuevo palabres in the form of adjetivos to describe a foto (I described mi madre), I really enjoyed our La Crucecita walk today!!

Primero, the banco machine. Cdn dollar doing great, so we loaded up on some pesos.

Then we hit up the cine to find out “¿que peliculas est en ingles?” and we will probably go see Angelia and Johhny in El Turista. Mañana at 815pm.

Then we did a long walk heading away from the zocalo, down Bumgabalia, as we were looking for an art store. We were told it was an artist’s store, but hoped it also sold canvases for mi novia to break out some pintura and get creative on.

We found the artist store, but he did not sell canvas. He led us to a nice store that sold some more art as well as onyx lights etc. She gave us some directions, clarified with the pregunta ¿despues zocalo?” and she said sí.

We also had the opportunity to see a part of town we normally do not walk to. It had many very small restaurante and a couple of weaving stores where they were making linen table clothes etc, using very old manual looms.

Here is a link to Google Map, showing you where we ended up today.

We ended up one block to the left of the campo (field) de football/soccer. Our condo is about 10 blocks “up” the page.

Stopped off at the bakery for some pan and treats, walked by the boys to say hola and then into the tienda de abarrote to grab some mil isles and as they had French’s mostaza…I bought a back up bottle!! Ja ja ja

A few plátanos and we were then home for pasta and tomate sauce con molida de res (ground beef).

But our day started off by finishing our tareas at 8am and then off to clase.

I used this foto to describe mi madre in clase.

While Bexico used this foto to describe her sobrina (niece)...Munchie.

That is Bexico's hermana Penel holding (y) Bono the Mono.

The otro estudiantes were to listen and pick out the adjetivos because the maestra would ask us things such as what are the colors of the eyes etc.

Here is what I said:

Esta una foto de mi madre y novia.

Mi madre es muy amable y graciosa.

Le gusta reír.

Tiene el pelo es plata ahora. Era de color café claro.

Tiene los ojos azules y lleva gafas.

Es de estatura median, pero se ha reducida sies centimetros. Ja ja ja

Clase was good and it looks like most will stick around for the 5 week session that starts mid-March.

Despues clase, I was approached by Howard and in a 10 minute discussion, he explained he too was Dutch, lived in Michigan and also explained his learnings via a seminar at back in Michigan, about the two big waves of Dutch immigration to North America. One in late 1800’s and one after WWII.

Sympatico hombre to talk with.

Home (ok…pit stop at Che for leche as one of our cartons had spoiled) and then off to gimnasio. Stinking hot.

Here are the long awaited fotos.

This pero looked both ways before ignoring traffic.

He made it safe and sound across Blvd Chahue, one of the busiest roads here.

I just liked the colors of the ropa tipica.

Escalera y mas ladders. I also see some umbrellas for sale too. Not sure how the dealio works. Did this hombre buy all these ladders in the hopes of cornering the market? Later in the afternoon, during our walk, we saw his associate lugging ladders through La Crucecita in the hopes of making some sales.

In the next foto, the tamarindos have made their quota.

Moments before this foto was taken, I watched as a senorita got out of her white truck, did some pleading with the tamarindos and then jumped in a taxi and departed. Five minutes later, the truck was hauled away.

Not alot of action in this foto.

The hombre in the light blue shirt (back to us) is selling veggies etc to the couple in front of him. The three hombres on the ground are waiting. ¿Porque?

WFSITBOTT #2!!!

Ayer we had a high of 31 grados and a low of 24 grados, but these hombres are set on selling mantas (blankets) y almohadas (pillows).
Best of luck boys!!

The hombres are probably day laborers, hired to sell the goods.

Just a foto of a Mexican escoba.

All this was happening in and around the small park I pass. Lots of activity there!!

Gimnasio sucked (mucho calor y humido...low energía) but the good news is that I was struck with a great plan for our lot at Mojon. Going to wait and get all the facts (FZ etc), but I came up with a design that keeps the villas off any potential FZ (if we need to).

Home for alberca time and that led us to our walk.

Misc

Anoche, I finished the 3rd Stieg Larsson libro. I give it my two thumbs up.

You are up to date!!

Mañana? Gimnasio y Mojon.

Hasta luego!!
