Buenos tardes!!

Not quite tiempo por buenos noches…but almost time for la cena…pizza at Il Rigoletto!! ¿Porque?

Porque es Dia de San Valentin!!

I am pooped right now. The Girl That Kicked The Hornet’s Nest kept me up until 1230am (SPOILER ALERT) as Blomquist was almost assassinated!!

And then there was some t&t due to the heat and the last thing I saw was 2am on the clock…and the next thing I heard was the alarm at 7am. Not hating…just stating. Would I rather be pooped anywhere else right now? Nope!!

Pounded out some tareas between 715am and 815am and then headed to Marina Park to meet the topografico hombre…Antonio. Who by the way speaks no ingles…or so he says. Ja ja ja.

Lanny offered to send one of his office guys with us, due to the language, but come on I said and off we went to Mojon.

A quick sensor check and we were through Copalita…nada (nothing) on the way back.

The mission was simple. Show Antonio the lot, try to answer any of his questions, ask a few of mine, and then get back into La Crucecita by 1030am so I could drive Bexico to our clase de español.

No hic-cups, but the “low on gas” luces coming on 10km antes Mojon was a slight concern. But alas, made it back to the solo Pemex station in town with no problems!!

Antonio took one look at the property and agreed that there is definitely some in the FZ. How much is still to be determined and I should end up with a mapa and some markers…I think.

I asked if construccion would be an issue on FZ and he laughed and pointed to all the other developments…all on FZ land. So to clarify…we can build on FZ as many people and hotels here in Mexico do. That is how you end up with beachfront property. 20 metros from high tide is all in the FZ.

But what we need to do is get a lease on the portion that is in the FZ. If our complete property fell in the FZ, the annual lease would be $90 Cdn…so it is not expensive. What I am not sure about and have not been able to clarify yet, is how hard is it to get one of these concessions and leases.

Not building on the lot until we have that duck in its row!!

Antonio was impressed with the two agua wells…sin sal (no salt). I left him to do his job, which includes heading up into the montañas to talk to the government in charge of Mojon. He is looking for any specific data relating to surveying of lots etc.

I shook his hand and asked him when he would be talking to Lanny (habla con Lanny? Hoy?) and he replied tarde…this afternoon. I will follow up mañana.

Raced home via Pemex and then did más tareas and then off to clase.

Good clase, did well in homework, but need to keep up with the memorizing of the verbos. And to add to it all…we are onto nuevas palabras…adjetivos!!

Our tareas for mañana? Bring a foto of a family member and use adjetivos to describe them. Hmmmm? Who to talk about. Ja ja ja

Despues clase, a quick pit stop at Che…some great off the shelf jugo de naranje para mi novia and some misc for us both. Just getting used to the attempt of using para vs por (for vs for)…yikes.

It was mucho calor, but after anoche’s cena of dos hamburguesa, I needed to go to the gimnasio!!

Here are the fotos.

Before I left the compound I saw Hector (sí…with the silent H) and asked him if he liked the pan de plátanos and he said sí.

Here is a blurry (through a dirty window) foto of Hector walking away with his baggie of pan de plátanos!! Note the left mano (hand).

¿Did you no that “si” means “if” unless you add one of these “´” to it…which changes it to “yes”?

Liquefied petroleum truck.

Most people cook and heat agua to clean their ropa with this, but there are no lines into the casa. The hombres charge by weight and the current prices are usually written on the side of the truck.

WFSITBOTT?

Grills and apparatus to clean ropa.

This looks like a pit stop during a NASCAR race.

Five guys working on a taxi on the calle de auto repair.

La nube are rolling in.

It became cloudy at around 4pm, dramatically cutting into our alberca time!!

And it would have been a great day for alberca time because 95% of the condo residents were on the all day booze cruise!! Oh well…two more months and it will be just Bexico and myself living on the compound.

Despues alberca time, it was chill-lax time. A Starbucks latte para me novia (via our own espresso machine) and some sandia for me.

It is currently 920pm and we have just returned from la cena and our walk. Only in Mexico? Il Rigoletto on NYE is empty and today it is full and we were asked if we had a reservaciones. That we did not have but with some quick work by a host in a chef’s coat, he split a 4 top and ta-da…we had our table. Great service!!!

And for the tidy sum of $333 pesos ($400 including propina), we had a huge (familia size) pepperoni y sausage italiano pizza, a large ensalada mixta, uno agua con gas y dos cerveza italiano. $34 Cdn…a great deal.

We then did a quick walk around the zocalo.

Here is a link to Google Maps and the zocalo (town square) is in the middle of the map. If you zoom out, you will see calle Carrizal one block to the right and then if you follow Carrizal 5 blocks, on the right you will see our compound and the pool in the back.

Lots of peeps around the town…kids celebrating Valentine’s Day.

There was also a large gathering outside the church, iglesia. Many people with visible disabilities were listening to a woman give a sermon of some sort. It looked like they were there trying to get an “in” on healing themselves. Interesting to watch.

Bought some Halls for Ricardo at the gate. He seems to have a bad cold and a sore throat. He was appreciative of the regalo (gift) but may have been hitting the cough syrup too hard because he did not know how to say “throat” in español. Dolor de garganta…sore throat.

The boys were not busy, but Daniel was in a rush to go play speed soccer. Lalo is the new spokesman for Jenny Craig. Wow has he lost a lot of weight and it is a good thing because his diet was not so healthy.

He now has a refrigerator in his room so he can keep the fruits y veggies in stock, as well as the good juices vs the Coca Cola.

And he has a new “amiga”!! Good for him as he seems quite excited to share this news with us.

Picked up some plátanos and we are now home for the night.

The blog is done and you are up to date.

Mánana? Clase, gimnasio and follow up with Antonio.

Hasta luego.
