Hola. It is Domingo…Sunday!!
Don't forget Olen's birthday is manana. 40 again bro?
We did a blog write up yesterday, but did not get to the internet to post it. Sorry to all that went on line looking for us. Sabado’s update is right below today’s. Read on amigos.
We got up and I had some more pan frances…might be a Sunday tradition. Bex loaded the car as we waited for our neighbor. She was due at 10 am and at 1030 Bex went and got her.
Prior to that, Bex ventured to the seguridad gate and asked the guy for two more jugs of water. Una mas to replace the empty jug and una nueva to get a complete second jug (and deposit). $70 pesos for the complete, $20 for the refill and $20 for the guard and ta-da, the water was waiting outside out condo door upon our return from the playa. I haven’t seen the process, but I am sure the guard flags down one of the many trucks driving around and just gets them to deliver the jugs.
We drove down Blvd Chauae but there was a road block by Super Che due to the triathlon. So we turned around and took the long way to La Bocana. Let me see if I can explain this…
Copalita is a village that was moved across the street from its original spot, so the military could set up its check point. Copalita is also a river that flows down from the mountains into the ocean. It is a river that at the right time of year can be tubed down…might take the floaties.
Where the river reaches the ocean is called a bocana, river mouth. Here they have called the little village, La Bocana…self explanatory. Some good surfing here and the playa generally has a few fishermen, a few surfers and a few locals hanging around.
Not sure how long the river is, but from Copalita (village) to La Bocana is about 5 km.
We were soooo set up for the day in the sun. Our $278 peso playa umbrella, our cooler with ice packs, coca lights and agua and of course, our beach chairs!!
The gals paid $200 each to rent boards and off they went. Bex is a natural teacher:
We left the beach at 330pm…perfect time as the clouds have rolled in. Bex chatted up the surf rental guy/teacher, Adam, and discussed how much to pick up a board for herself. He complimented her and said he could tell if she continued as she was, she would be a great surfer. Adam is an Australian who is well known in the community and also knows our landlords Rick and Heidi.
So, we are here at home, cleaning up all the sand from the playa, watching The Cowboys tie it up with The Titans in NFL Espanol and then will head out to update the blog and maybe have la cena (dinner) cooked for us!! Maybe Los Portales?
Emigracion in the morning and nothing else extra planned.
Sabado’s update is below.
Until manana,
Saludos
Buenos Dias!! It is Sabado, 09 de Octubre de 2010.
We received our banking translation letter last night, via email from Roman. So this morning I re-typed it into Word and Bex printed off both of our letters as well as copies.
We should now be 100% ready for Migracion come Lunes.
Last night was quiet except for the situation next door, where the nanny seemed to have her hands full. I guess the kids were to sleep over (first time we have seen this) and the young boy decided to scream at the top of his lungs, about how pleased he was with that decision. Maia (??) came and asked if she could use our cell phone, but we have not gotten one (yet?). She packed the two kids up and 30 minutes later returned with what looked like the father. Suffice it to say Junior had decided to behave. Lol
As we hit the sack, we found a little friend on the wall of our bedroom, but left him/her alone as geckos eat a ton of mosquitoes and such. Not much “such” in our condo as the windows and main door, all have screens. But twice we have spotted a small trail of tiny hormiga (ants) and have dealt with them. No different then living in the country or going camping…deal with it!!
Time for breakfast and then the gym. Not sure of the surf plans but not worried either. I think the playa they are supposed to go to is just past Mojon, at Barra de la Cruz…but we have not been there before and these surf playas generally do not have signs. Oh well, an adventure!!
Hasta luego. (until later/then)
Great workout. Met Gimeli’s hijo (eeho…son) Logan and had a conversation with Gimeli. Gim wants to practice Ingles and of course I am working on Espanol. It does mean longer conversations as each sentence is spoken in both languages, but a good way to learn.
toalla, pronounced to-ah-ya.
Came home and we hit the pool. Met a new Canadian neighbor, I think it is Bill and Sandra, from Calgary. Both in their late 50’s and Bill seems to have a few opinions on things in life, here in Mexico and in Canada. I can see the pool area becoming the hub bub of gossip…will do our best to avoid that area when they all come down. Got some great color today and the clouds have just rolled in. We haven’t seen clouds in over una semana (one week).
Maia came home from work at 3pm and agreed it was too late to go surfing so we are all meeting manana at 10am and will head out. Hope to be back in time for some Sunday NFL in Espanol.
We will be prepared for the playa…headed out now to pick up our umbrella and will use our 12 volt cooler in the car to keep the beverages frio and we also have two ice packs to help maintain the chill.
La cena looks like one left over burger and maybe some of the brochettes cerdo (pork).
Hasta luego.
