Max Van's attempt at having no more fotos taken.
Buenos tardes and after a sunny day, at 3pm the nubes rolled in and at 415pm the thunder is making lots of noise above the montañas. Hoping the familia is a-ok over at playa Maguey...Max's choice of where to go with his madre for the afternoon out.
The día? A good bed time and a pretty good noche with no manos but a few wake ups. Pee breaks at 2am and then again at 5am but a final wake up at 6am.
Onto the usual for The Boys...leche, videos at 630am, out into the Palacio at 715am, play time, desayunos and then off for a bici tour.
All was going well until we were heading home for the CP alberca familia swim. We were about to cross a busy calle and I made sure no traffic was coming and that Max was ready to go. Across one lane and I look back and Max has stopped...and here comes traffic.
We get across a-ok but need to have a chat, one that Max does not want to have. We must go fast across the calles, and his reply is "I like to go slow". I try again and Max decides to shut off the orejas, ears and I tell him we will walk home if he does not listen.
He tries to wheel away and I hold the bici and then from him I get a roar like a lion and one that almost burst my ear drums. Tears follow and we continue the chat.
Now his reply is "I only want to go fast" to which I say great...go fast across the calle. To which he replies "I want to go slow across the calle". Yikes.
He relents and says "yes Poppa" and we continue towards home, with non-stop crying continuing.
We come upon a rampa that leads to another calle, and instead of stopping at the line, he rolls right down and almost onto the road. Huh? This is a new and defiant behaviour...one that will not be tolerated. Another chat and the lion comes out again.
But hey, there is NO way he is going to ride his bici and not stop for traffic!! I am about to have him walk home when we see madre heading our way on the bici and I wave her over and then the water works start again.
He is defiant with Bex and has lost the bici ride, all 2 minutos until we get home. But now he wants Bex to carry him home...ahhhhh...no.
I carry him across the calle but need to put him down as I have the bici tambien. Wailing all the way home and peeps are looking at him and scratching their heads as they have never seen Max like this before. Heck...I am scratching MY head!!
Upstairs for leche and more crying and I remind him it is ok to be sad and/or angry, but we are not going to the pool like that.
I ask if he wants his swim shorts on and as I pick him up, he spots a flashlight and it is like the last 20 minutos never happened.
Oh, he is happy, smiling and laughing. And maybe nuts?
Off to the alberca and Bex arrives and susses out the situation...we both scratch our heads.
Upstairs for the leche y libros and once he is asleep, Bex and I chat it up and all we can do is agree that it is wacky and that there is no rhyme or reason to that behaviour. We also agree that we will continue to be consistent in our directions to him, especially in terms of things like safety.
Next time on the bici, a reminder of the safety rules and if he breaks them, off the bici for a block.
Yikes...wacky end to the morning tour!!
A good siesta and then up at 115pm. Bex left me a note and said the early afternoon was wacky...Max not wanting to play with her or share the jugo that he had made. Hmmmm...crusty oso!!
Ojo ojo...440pm and here comes the lluvia!!
After the afternoon "fun", they were off to the playa and with the lluvia coming down, I expect them back soon.
My afternoon? I was off to el gimnasio and was happy that I had a good work out...no lingering effects from the injuries of a few days ago!! Yahoo!!
Home for some clean up, a bite to eat and now some tranquilo time and blog update time.
Off to put the fries in the horno...and then back for the fotos!!
Intently watching Rusty the Robot paint everything white.
Heck...Rusty can make Max smile!!
But that did not last too long.
Some energy burning riding through the grass.
We came upon some gates that lead to a parking lot and some toy cars and a caballo. On domingo we came by and the gates were locked, so today Max asked if they were "cerrado" and when I said no, he asked if we could go in.
Sure...but the toys are not under shade and it was HOT, so we only stayed for 10 minutos before carrying on with our tour.
We all know where this journey is heading!!
And last but not least, a foto that was sent to us from my sister-in-law...a memory from January 2014 that I do not recall as I was soooooo ill.
Lil'Max, Opa y mi hermana blowing out the candles on Karen's pastel de cumpleaños.
Ok, off to cook la cena. Back at you post tina time.
Hasta pronto.
Buenos noches!! Currently 651pm and tina time is under way and Bex is working hard on getting a playas worth of arena out of Max's hair!! They had a super fun time at the playa and were joined by one of Max's amigos and his padres tambien.
Home at 530pm sharp as there was some road construction that had Bex on her way to Guatemala, but Max realized they were not headed in the right way, told her so, and they turned around. Well, the story kinda goes like that.
Oh so yummy and tender steaks, muy raro aqui, and Max ate the other 1/2 of his quesadilla and cleared the plato, with a little help from a video or two and of course having Poppa keep the spoon moving forward!!
The rain was over after an hour, but with the roads slick and the familia tired, we decided to pass on a post cena prowl or tour...and Max took it in stride, meaning he too is a lil'pooped.
So we have a tranquilo tina time and then off for leche y libros and bed time.
Mañana...off to Soriana and maybe take Max's RC car to the canchas so he can take it out for a good spin and not be scared of it. Scared only because he burned the skin off his knees with it!!
Have a great viernes y hasta mañana.
Marco, Bexico y Max
