Buenos noches!!

1030pm and time for a quick update.

Health of the familia? Max has a cold, but Doc Carillo says Max’s lungs sound fine, so we are not so worried. He has had NO drop in energy and madre has been super in keeping him hydrated, we just hate to see him hack a cough. It was tougher for him to fall asleep tonight, but Bex propped him on a pillow to help him breathe.

Madre? Off to bed early tonite as she is feeling crappy. Too many nights of taking care of the lil’guy so padre could recover from his gripe. So she will get some well deserved sleep and after 3 days of sopa de pollo, maybe a bigger dinner mañana!!

Marco? Feeling the best he has all week!! I still have a dry cough, but Doc Carillo pointed me in the right direction and away from Similar farmacias!! He says the prices are barrato, but the product is not always the best quality. How true as the cough syrup I bought ayer…did not work!!

So some new meds, brand name meds, from a different farmacia and $600 pesos for the doc and $300 pesos for the meds…hoping to be all better soon!! Stay tuned.

We may feel those prices are ok, but still more then I would have liked to pay. Most Mexicans would have gone to the walk in clinic for $50 pesos and then off to Simi where the no name drugs would have been $150 pesos…still 2 days wages. Yikes.

Oh, did I mention that we had to wait an hour to see the doc and Max needed lots of distracting to stay happy. But once into the oficina for his checkup…a trooper!!

So well behaved and the looks he gave the doctor during the poking, prodding and listening with the stethoscope were so funny, it made the doctor laugh as well.

Ok, two stories to tell.

During the AM rutina, Max and I are out for our walk and are going to stop at the Doc’s oficina to make our cita, appointment.

We get to calle Bugambilia and we see a parade is starting to form and work it’s way up the street.

Who’s having a parade and por que? We are headed towards 20 de noviembre, Dia de la Revolución, and the niños from the primary schools were out parading.

Now who didn’t bring his camera today? Doph. Some great costumes, traditional ropa…lil’dudes with chico moustaches painted on and the sort.

One disconcerting thing…they make the kids parade with toy guns…not sure that is something we would want Max to have to do. But we have time to figure that all out.

So we are sitting on the curb, watching the kids walk by, and the senora from the kiosko comes by with her hija. These peeps came to Max’s fiesta and gave him the new zapotos.

Anyway the senora scoops Max up and starts walking away and tells me to follow. Now this morning, we were not all bright eyed and bushy tailed and were a-ok sitting on the curb, but we played along.

We thought we had a better plan, sit on the curb and watch the kids go by us, vs walk beside the niños and see the same ones as we all walk up the street. But again we played along.

A few blocks up the calle, the parade was in stand by mode and the music was blaring, so time for Max to bust a groove and get his dance moves on.

Middle of the road, surrounded by costumed school kids and with all their parents watching…the lil’dancer was impressing everyone.

I managed to break the emotional grip of the senora…friendly but not sure about her, and Max and I headed to the doc’s oficina…which was closed.

By the time we got back to CP, the parade had wound its way up Bugambilia and was headed down calle Carrizal.

So I left Max with “Papa” and ran upstairs to grab the camera.

We saw only a few niños who were at the end of the parade…doph.

But Max had a 2nd chance to bust loose and chose to do so.

Hilarious to watch and even more special? Watching the peeps that stop to admire him as he cuts loose.

Second story….familia walk in the afternoon and we run into 3 of Max’s amigos. These are the boys that are probably 5,6 and 7, and due to the state of their clothes, seem to have a little less money, but are always smiling.

They always love to see Max and call him their amigo. They were playing in the bed of a pick up truck so we put Max in there for a while and they 4 of them had some laughs.

Then as we continued our walk towards the zocalo, we heard music coming from one of the speakers outside a tienda.

It has become our rutina to get Max off my shoulders and let him feel the rhythm and see what happens.

Today? He LOVED the rhythm and started grooving…up, down, up, down and even added some arm movements!! So here on the sidewalk, with peeps stopping to admire or just passing by and smiling, are Max, madre y padre dancing to the tunes.

Max loves it and due to the setting sun, could see his reflection in the windows and that made him smile even more. And seconds later, the 3 amigos came out to have a look, a laugh and then a round of applause for the lil’guy!!

What a great feeling to see Max so happy and liked by other niños.

Off to the kiosko where 3 niñas came in and sat down with their toys. They looked friendly and smiled at Max, so we plopped him down and he socialized with the ladies!!

He is sooo easy going with other peeps…quite exciting for us to witness.

So, those were the 2 stories for the day. No pool, no playa, no Che, no gym…muy tranquilo.

Mañana…hoping we are all on the mend!! Domingo? Last race of the season…payback time for Clint Bowyer!!

Have a great fin de semana.

Marco, Bexico y Max
