Buenos noches y Feliz
Cumpleaños to the lil’guy!!
Currently 9pm and we all
survived the día!!
It was a crazy action
packed day, but we feel it was a successful one and one that all our guests
enjoyed.
Everyone was up early, Max
at 630am and madre at 9am so she could take over at 10am.
Max and I had our AM
rutina and that included a walk around centro and stopping in at the bakery to
confirm our order was ready to go.
Madre took the first
siesta and I grabbed some shut eye as well, waking up at 11am so I could start
the running around before the boys came over to help.
First stop was a dulceria
to see if I could find a piñata as everyone said we needed one for a primer
cumpleaños. Huh? Tienda was closed…we would all have to suffer!! Ja ja ja
Then off to the
Modelorama, beer tienda. I went in on viernes to confirm they would be open
today and was told they are open everyday. The hombre was very emphatic…every
day.
And of course they were
closed when I got there. Dumb a**.
So off to another of the
100 beer tiendas in town and grabbed most of my cervezas there, as well as 2
bags of hielo.
Then on to the next tienda
to find some Pacificos and mas hielo. Loaded up the blue bins in the back of
the camioneta and then on to the bakery where I picked up the goods.
Oh oh as Max would say.
All the baked goods came in one caja and now I will need to figure out how to
serve them at the fiesta. Worry about that later.
Almost noon and the boys
are right on schedule. We get to MPP, unload and set up and bang, back into the
truck to head home for a shower and pick up the familia.
Max had a shorty nap…oh
oh. That means he was a little antsy and boy was he ready to get out of the
condo when I arrived.
A quick shower and we were out the door with a pit stop at Vitel for mas
hielo…it was hot and the bebidas needed to be cold!!
And we made it to MPP at
1259pm!!
A fun shin dig but hosting
means no rest. Lots of running around…after the lil’guy as well as ensuring our
25 or so guests were taken care of.
Randy y Karen had us set
up great and we think our guests did enjoy themselves.
We had asked for no
regalos as these peeps work too hard for their pesos, but a few items were
given and I think the funniest is the doctor’s kit, given to us of course by Dr
Carillo y familia.
Max’s amiga from the
kiosko was there and they ran around giggling and Max had some alberca time con
madre, before the effects of a short nap kicked in and he was pooped.
So exit stage right…madre
y Max left the shin dig, headed home for the nap.
Me? I chatted up the
guests and around 3pm they started departing, taking extra cookies y pop with
them.
The one thing no one took
home with them? A piece of the pastel, birthday cake. Por que? Porque we forgot
to bring it out of the fridge!! Oh padres!!
No song, no candle y no
pastel!! Ja ja ja.
That’s ok as there was no
piñata either!!!
But at 945pm, Bex and I
can attest that the cake is soooo good!!! We will be giving away pieces mañana
as there is NO way am eating
another slice of that yummy cake.
Back to the shin dig. Most
peeps were gone and the place was cleaned up so a few of us sat around, had a
cerveza and just chatted it up. An eclectic group and I think some peeps made
new amigos.
Loaded up the truck,
grabbed the pastel out of the fridge and came home.
The familia was waiting
for me and we unpacked a few items, did some pre-PM rutina set up, had a very
quick FT con Max’s abuleos in Victoria, and then headed out for la cena.
We tried Mama Mias and had
very friendly service…including a cake for Max. See…he did not miss out!!
As for the food, not
expensive but not the best.
I make a better pasta and
Bex makes a waaaay better Pollo Regianno!!
Max as usual was super
well behaved and we had some prowling around before la cena arrived, he then
ate like a trooper during dinner and was a true pleasure on the short walk
home.
A quick PM rutina and off
to bed.
And you are all caught up.
Doph…guess who forgot to
PVR the race? Oh well. Looks like it was a good race and there are 2 left in
the season!!
Mañana? I need to grab the
otra camera from Samuel and see what kind of fiesta fotos he took. I left him
in charge of the second camera, because I knew we would be busy. I saw a few of
the fotos he took…young senoritas…so I am not sure if there will be any extra
fiesta fotos to share with you!! Ja ja ja
El gimnasio to work off
some pastel y cervezas and I need to contact an internet guy here in town.
Supposedly he is THE guy for satellite internet and I want to see what he can
supply for us. Stay tuned.
Fotos? Here they come at
ya.
Today, for his cumpleaños, he had pan frances, sin syrup.
Here is the birthday boy...Senor Serio. But what a cutie!!
Opening the regalo from his Tía Ione y familia.
Checking the DVD to see if he knows any of the actors.
Using the boca on the next regalo. Oh Max.
Max likes to read and he is already checking out his new libro.
Back to the boca.
Madre...bongo drums? How did you know that is what I wanted?
From the fiesta, here are Samuel (L) y Moises, the hombres who helped me with the set up.
Max was not in a posing mood,. but here he is with Anna, his amiga from the kiosko.
Misc from the fiesta. Bex wearing a bikini to the fiesta!!
Added entertainment for our peso? There was una iguana verde on the palapa, eating the ballons and then dropping "treats". Ja ja ja
The sign of a good fiesta!!
That was Victor, son of Victor, one of the hombres that delivers us our agua from Vitel. Cute niño but muy timido...didn't say a word the whole time, but dod crack a few smiles when I was tonto with him.
Have a great lunes!!
Marco, Bexico y Max
