Hola hola!!

Una día mas until Max’s primer cumpleaños and there is a definite buzz around Huatulco!!

And a buzz around the condo as we make the last minute preparations such as blowing up balloons (hecho en Mexico balloons…not very good quality) and bake Max a “special” cake…a healthy cake for niños.

Mañana…a go go go día but we are excited to see how many amigos show up to help celebrate the lil’guys special día.

Bex has just dug up a regalo para Max…from his tía, Ione, in Calgary. Wow…it has been here since mis padres came to visit in March. Grassy ass mi hermana y familia.

Stay tuned as there will be lots of fotos mañana.

Hoy, today?

Max is boobie attached and at 4am when he is thirsty, he wants his leche and with madre in the room…he was relentless and would not give up.

So Max and I packed up and off we went…and he was asleep in minutes. And it was some good chest napping for 2.5 hours!!

A good morning rutina and instead of a walk…hola to some alberca time. And how was the water at 930am? Brrrr….agua fria!! Max wore his military hat so I rotated him into the sol, but when we made it back upstairs for the nap, he was chilly. I even overheard someone say he had blue lips? Ooooops.

But he had a great time and hung out with one of the very few friendly peeps that live in the complex. Strange group of peeps here…but we digress.

Great nap and when that was over, madre took over and I hit the road for some errands. Hardware store, haircut, Papaloapan for some molida res and then the dulceria for the plastic forks.

Haircut…I need to brush up on some of the translating…doph. Not the best haircut I have ever had, but not the worst.

When I got to the peluquero…but he is really more of a barbero then hairdresser, he had a full waiting room (4 chairs) and one in the hot seat. I am thinking I need to come back and say to him that sábado looks like the día for haircuts.

He replies that the peeps in the sillas are his family. So I get to meet his wife and 3 kids who later on help crtique the haircut he gave me.

Muy bien, muy bien they say…until I remind them they were critiquing their father and husband. We all laughed.

What did I buy at the hardware store? A spindle for papel higiénico. Who knows what that is called in español? Not me…so I took a display model to the counter and ta-da and $15 pesos later I was on my way.

After my running around, it was a tranquilo afternoon. My gym was cerrado and the rico gym closes at 2pm, so it was a relaxing time while Max y madre had siesta #2.

And after that, a quick FT con mis padres as Max did circles around the sala with his boca y manos full of animal crackers!!

But he ran out of patience for the condo and let us know…time to go to the playa, and that we did.

Sábado at playa Santa Cruz? Tons of peeps and of course tons of peeps that want to know about this lil’guy with the blue ojos y red cabello.

And who else did we see? Sandra was working the sábado shift and INM and of course she came out to say hola and spend no less then 10 minutes chatting up the lil’guy.

We packed up and said hasta mañana as we will see her at the shin dig.

Headed to Pucks for a treat…some papas frances y una cerveza for padre!! Max loves his fries…welcome to the familia!! A quick stop as we had to get home because Max’s meter was running out and that isn’t normally a pretty scene.

We made it home in time…and the PM rutina went well and you are all caught up.

Fotos.

A usual scene when the lil'guy is at the playa.

No, he normally has his swim trunks on, but we were in the process of stripping down when this group came by to chat.

No musica, but he Max started grooving and making everyone smile...padre the most.

Here is Sandra from INM. She was letting Max play with her Blackberry and it started ringing and "Papa" flashed on the screen. She answered the phone while Max was holding it and told her padre that she was with a visitor, Max Van, the one she had emailed fotos of. Hilarious.

Max made a break with the BB and padre was in hot pursuit.

We returned it, after only dropping it once, and it was replaced with Sandra's INM ID badge.

Uh padre...where did your chinos go?

Ok, have a great domingo and we look forward to updating you on how the fiesta went.

Oh yeah, just in case you were wondering.

Cumpleaños feliz,
Te deseamos a ti,
Qué los cumplas en tu día,
Qué los cumplas feliz.

Hasta mañana.

Marco, Bexico y Max
